Story
Meet Nova. We were told Nova's dad was in the military and deployed, leaving three Dobermans with no where to go. The boys found safety, but the person who was going to take her, planned to breed her asap. As soon as we found out about the situation we knew we needed to help. "Hey, I’m Nova! I’m a 2-year-old female Doberman with the most fabulous floppy ears! I’m a loving, curious, and a smart Doberman. I might get a bit clingy and “velcro” myself to one special person in the house, but trust me, I’m sweet to everyone. I do get a little a nervous when new people come into my house but I look at my foster mom and Dad for the approval. It might take me a few min to warm up to new people, but once I do, I love being petted.
While I love my human foster brothers, 10 and 18, it has taken me a little while to understand their quick motions. Usually, when I see them doing something scary, (like running and screaming at each other) I run away. Because of this, I would prefer my future family have older kids because the little ones might not give me space.I have 2 furry foster siblings, a doberman and a Great Dane. I do love to wrestle with my dobie sister but sometime she gets a little rough and snappy so I just walk off and smell the flowers. My Great Dane sister doesn’t back down from me and because I knew from the beginning she has my foster moms heart, I don’t like to play with her. I am good with other dogs but I do prefer to have slower introductions. I would also do well as an only dog but I do want an active family. We do have a small furry thing they say is a cat, who lives outside. I am good with her but it took me a little bit to know that I should not to be scared or chase her. She knows better than to run from me which makes it nice. If she would, I would think she was a squirrel and probably chase and catch her. I have been known to catch a squirrel.
I love the water. I don’t necessarily swim but I lay out on my pool step when I get hot and do the same in our pond. When we go to the mountains, I love to walk in the river.”
