Story
Update: Winthrop has been in his foster home for a bit and is doing well. He’s super playful but snuggles too…he’s a smart little guy. He goes into his kennel on command. He’s looking for someone to spend some one on one time with him, though he does get along with other dogs and cats. He is a super sweet boy. —————————————————- Winthrop was born 6/3/22 and didn't have the best start in life. His Mom must not have been ready to be a Mommy dog because she ended up picking him up by his head and shaking him. This has caused some neurological issues but has not damped his spirit. Winthrop is a lovable pup that doesn't know he is slightly special. It does not stop him from running and playing, basically acting like a typical Doberman puppy. Winthrop thinks he is a big bad Doberman in the safety of his kennel but once he meets another dog face to face he becomes a submissive little fella. He is a little too pesty with the kitties so a no cat home is best for Winthrop. Winthrop is still working on potty training but we are confident he will learn this quickly. He will do best with older children and would thrive with a family that will do obedience training to help him become a well-rounded Doberman.

Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Lincoln is a handsome 2 year old dobie boy. He has been around (but not out playing with yet) other dogs and seems to do well around them. Kitties are a bit too much for him so a no cat home will be best. Lincoln has the typical doberman velcro attitude and will enjoy having a family to take him on daily walks and play ball in the yard. We have not had him around any children but we believe from his temperament he will be good with older kids.

Doberman Pinscher

Male, adult
Louisville, KY
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Diesel found his way to our rescue through "doggy jail". He was picked up by animal control numerous times and the last time his owners refused to come get him. Diesel is a curious soul and wanted to see what was out there in the world and his owners were not showing him. So he would get out of the fence and find out for himself! Diesel is 4 years old and full of life. He will need an active family that will take him on daily walks/hikes to satisfy his curiosity and work through his high level of energy. Diesel is selective with other dogs and would probably will do best with older kids because he is a big boy with energy to spare. He’s also a little too interested in the kitties so none for him!

Gunter

Doberman Pinscher

Male, 3 yrs
Louisville, KY
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Gunter is a happy go lucky energetic 3yo velcro Dobe who loves running around the yard. He is house trained, crate trained and good with cats, female dogs only and small dogs ok with supervision. Gunter is a typical goofy and rambunctious dobie boy so older children will best suited for him. Gunter will benefit from obedience training, that would help bond with new family and build up his confidence. He can be unsure of new surroundings and people so that extra time together will be beneficial. Gunter did have an old injury to his knee that has healed up so if you look carefully you might see he walks a little different but that certainly doesn't slow him down. He can play and go on walks like any dog but will not make for a good jogging partner. If interested in this handsome dobie boy go visit our website and submit your application so you don't miss out!

Doberman Pinscher

Female, 4 yrs
Louisville, KY
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Pippa is 4 years old and done with her mothering days, well almost. She was used for breeding and that part is over but she still has the mamma dog instincts. Pippa is good around dogs of similar size to her but when it comes to little dogs or cats she is all over them as if they were a puppy. Best for her to stick with a home without tiny dogs and kitties. As for people, Pippa adores everyone once she knows you. She does like to bark at a stranger but that quickly goes away. Not a bad thing to have a dog that will alert you to someone that isn't support to be around. Pippa needs to know a life that isn't all about someone making money on her pups. She deserves a family to love her. Pippa loves walks and is good on a leash.

Luna

Doberman Pinscher

Female, senior
Louisville, KY
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Luna is 8 years old and came to BDR because her Mom became ill and was no longer able to care for her. She is a very well cared for and loved dobie girl, they were definitely sad to see her move on but knew it was best for Luna. Luna is good with kitties and other dogs as long as they don't want to play rough with her. Loves her people once she knows you, can be a little apprehensive around new people. Won't do good in a home with little children and all their energy. Luna loves to play with her toys, no one has yet to tell her she is a senior dog! Since she is an albino you will need to be careful with her out in the sun, wouldn't want her ears and nose to burn! Also it can be hard on her eyes, some wear doggles. If you are looking for a sweet girl to hang out with and take walks then Luna might be the dobie gal for you.
