Story
"Hi there! I’m Rasmus – and I’m ready to meet my forever family! I am 1 year old, a Feist (type of terrier) mix, around 30 pounds, full of energy, and your classic playful puppy! Life is all about fun for me—chasing toys, playing tug-of-war, and zooming around the yard with my doggy friends. I'm currently living with my foster mom, dad and their 3-year-old boy who I adore! We play together all the time—he throws the ball, I fetch it (most of the time), and we both giggle (well, he giggles, I wag). I’d absolutely love a home where I can have both two-legged and four-legged buddies to play with. Kids? Yes please! Other dogs? Even better! I'm a social pup who thrives on companionship, fun, and belly rubs. I’ve got lots of love to give, a tail that never stops wagging, and a heart full of puppy joy. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, loving pup to grow up with your family, I just might be your perfect match. Love, Ras" Ras is a Louisiana rescue pup looking for a new life up North. Ras is crate trained and doing well with house training and leash walking. His photos just don't capture his sweetness. Please check out his videos to see Ras in action being adorable. Ras' photo album with the sweetest videos of him with a toddler: https://photos.app.goo.gl/cWTeKsvq4MyLFn8b7 Ras is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, 4DX negative for heartworm and tick borne diseases, and current on heartworm/flea/tick prevention and deworming. All this sweet little boy needs is a home! PAWS of Northeast Louisiana was formed in 2003. We are a small foster-based rescue and have been sending our special Southern pets to fabulous Northern homes since 2010. We work with a wonderful transport who has stops in many Northeastern / New England states: VT, CT, NY, NJ, PA, etc.

Story
Are you looking for a cuddly couch potato who also enjoys snacks and slow strolls around the neighborhood? Meet Iris! She is a 5ish year old lemon Beagle with a tail that never stops wagging and the sweetest face. Iris is a very short and petite lady ("pocket" Beagle perhaps?) weighing in at a chubby 18 lbs. She likely needs to be closer to 15 lbs. She was found abandoned on a rural Louisiana road in early October 2025. Iris' foster mom says, "Iris is such a joy. She has a huge heart with lots of love to give. Her favorite place in the world is sitting on the couch next to her person. She is always up for pets, kisses, and treats. She likes to go on walks and sniff every single blade of grass. Her hound dog nose can get her into trouble, so she needs to be on leash or supervised in a securely fenced yard. Otherwise, she will go wherever her nose leads her. Her tail never stops wagging and she does an adorable army crawl when she gets nervous (check out her rescue video in her album below). Iris has had limited interactions with small children but seems to enjoy being around them (and their snacks). She gets along well with other dogs and cats. Iris will get grumbly when she is lying comfortably on the couch and another dog disturbs her. She has not ever bitten or started a fight. She will let other dogs cuddle with her but likes to fuss about it at first. Iris deserves a home where she can have lots of couch time and be spoiled and pampered. I know she will make her new family extremely happy! I will miss her silly little waddle walk, her soft ears, and precious face." Iris' google photo album with extra photos/videos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/E29fPoFSc9FJ61h29 Iris is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and current on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Upon rescue, she did test positive for heartworms, but has been treated and as of 1/12/26, Iris is heartworm free! She has also had a recent dental cleaning. All this darling girl needs now is a home! Early February update - Iris has had 2 mild seizures recently. Her vet team feels like she may have idiopathic epilepsy at this point as her exams and bloodwork are normal. She is not on medication yet, but may need daily medication in the future. We are monitoring her closely. Iris is currently in foster care in North Louisiana, but we welcome out of state adoptions. We have an amazing transport that delivers all along the East Coast... PA, NJ, CT, NY, VT. PAWS of NE LA was formed back in 2003 and we have been sending our special Southern dogs to wonderful homes up North since 2010.
