Story
Available: Jan 4/2026 Born: Nov 9/2025 Size: Large (55-70lbs) Energy: Moderate Gender: Male Breed: Husky/Lab X Notes: Charming and Playful Adoption fee: $450 (view what’s included at www.manitobaunderdogs.org/adopt/how-to-adopt ) Huckleberry is the puppy who collects toys like treasures and occasionally surprises everyone with a bold life choice. Huckleberry is a sweet, fun, and curious little guy with a heart full of affection and a playful streak to match. He loves gathering his toys and bringing them over, sometimes including the entire toy bin, just to make sure everything is close by. He tends to be a bit more cautious than his sister Cranberry, thoughtfully taking in his surroundings before jumping in… except for the one time he decided stairs were no big deal and confidently tackled them without a second thought. Like any growing puppy, Huckleberry is still learning the basics and is working on his house training and kennel training. He’s too young to start leash training for now, but puppy classes would be a fantastic way to help him continue building confidence and good habits. With proper introductions and boundaries, he is expected to do well with other dogs, cats, and kids. If your home could use a gentle goof with a love for toys and quiet confidence, Huckleberry is ready to bring the charm. By day two, she had already made friends with everyone in the house, including the cats, who seem just as smitten with her as she is with them. Auri ’s happiest place is right near her people, soaking up affection and being part of whatever is happening. She is fully kennel trained and is making great progress with her house training. Auri is also just beginning to learn her leash manners and would thrive in a home that’s excited to keep building on her basics and give her a strong, confident foundation. She loves to play and has been learning appropriate manners from her foster sister, who has taken her role very seriously. Curious and adventurous, Auri loves to jump, climb, and explore her surroundings. Story
Meet Newman, a young, striking husky with a heart full of joy and a smile that could melt snow! This happy, social boy is always ready for adventure, whether it’s zooming around the yard, showing off his elegant prance, or collapsing for belly rubs after a good play session. Newman’s personality shines through in everything he does, from his curious nature to the way his tongue lolls out of his mouth like he’s laughing at life itself. Newman is fully kennel and house trained, and he sleeps soundly through the night without a peep. He’s actively working on his leash manners but walks are just so exciting, it’s hard not to pull! He’s an inquisitive, athletic pup who thrives with activity, structure, and affection. His favourite things in the world are praise and pets from his people, though chasing squeaky toys and crunching on a frozen kibble treat come in close behind. Newman is a friendly, forward dog who loves to meet new canine friends, though his playful “in-your-face” energy can be a bit much for some. He does best with confident female dogs of similar size and play style. He does require a home without cats (they’re far too tempting to chase). He hasn’t met kids yet, but with his youthful enthusiasm and love of attention, older children who understand boundaries could be a great fit once he’s learned to manage his excitement and puppy impulses. Newman is equal parts goofy and graceful, a loyal, loving companion who’s as ready for couch cuddles as he is for outdoor adventures. Don't let his cuddles confuse you, he is a true definition of a you husky!
