Story
Opal has been waiting ten long months for a family to call her own, a family who will finally see her for the gentle, loving soul she is. She's watched other dogs come and go, yet she remains patient and kind, never losing her sweetness or her faith that her turn will come. Opal adores people and finds joy in the simplest moments such as resting her head in your lap, going for leisurely walks, car rides, or curling up beside you just to be close. She has so much love to give and asks for so little in return, just a home where she can feel safe, cherished, and finally know what it means to belong. After ten long months of waiting, Opal is more than ready to fill someone's life with loyalty, comfort, and unconditional love. Opal is a five year old 75 pound American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, current on flea/tick heart worm prevention, and heart worm tested negative. Opal is free to a loving home where she can be the only pet and get all the love and attention she deserves.

Story
My Wife and I found Ember in a shelter down in Texas, she was just a few months old. She was in the back and wouldn’t eat because she was the runt, and was bullied by the other pups for her food. We took her in and she’s been with us for about 9 years now. We had our child about a year ago, and since then we haven’t been able to give Ember the amount of attention we thought we could give. Ember is a sweet dog. She’s ridiculously cuddly, soft and very quiet. She will follow you around and tilt her head at almost everything you say to her. Becoming older had changed her some. She would want her own space and sleep outside the bedroom at night. She enjoys staying outside in the backyard longer and sun bathing. She really is such a sweetheart. — — Ember hasn’t directly bit our child but has nipped around her and barked aggressively. She needs a family who can love on her and give her the life we just can’t right now. She’s a happy, fun, playful dog. And LOVES to cuddle & nuzzle into you.

Story
My Wife and I rescued Arlo from being put down when he was just an adolescent. He had a skin condition and our friends who were fostering him couldn’t do much for him while they just extended his time. He was/has always been quite the energetic one. When we first met him, he had barely any fur. We actually didn’t know what kind of dog he was, with the long tail and floppy ears. We could only guess. When we took him in and got him healed up. We quickly realized he had an amazingly soft coat. His temperament was unlike any dog I’ve ever met. He is playful but in short bursts. He’s so affectionate. He loves to nuzzle and loves being pet. You could pet him all day long and he will love every second of it. He’s quiet and soft, great listener, and well trained. — — He was hurt by some family kids when he was younger. Sliced his eye. (Not blinding) Since then he’s been very wary of children. Looking for a good home for him. Someone who can give him what we cannot right now. He’s worth it.

Dinosaur

Mixed Breed (Medium) American Pit Bull Terrier

Female, Young
Lawton, OK
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
We recently took in this sweet girl from a relative after learning they had unintentionally fallen into a hoarding situation. They love her very much, but they don’t have the space, resources, or experience to meet her needs, so we are fostering her while searching for a safe and supportive long-term home. She is about 3 yo and appears to be a pitty mix. She is timid but incredibly sweet once she feels safe. She hasn’t been abused to our knowledge, but she can be nervous. She bonds quickly with women and children and is more cautious around men. She often cowers around energetic dogs or loud toys, especially squeaky ones. She has a strong prey drive, so she should not live with cats or small pets. Her ideal home would be with someone experienced with bully–type/shy dogs. She would thrive in a calm home where she can build confidence at her own pace. She will be spayed before adoption, or we can adopt her to a home willing to complete her spay. Willing to drive to for good home.

Story
Sweet Nebula came to us from a neglectful owner. She was kept outside in a wire crate in any weather. It was when her life was at risk that she found us. Although she has had a rough past you would never be able to tell. Nebula is the sweetest girl! Her favorite things are belly rubs, cuddles, and very small toys she can hold in her mouth. She is loyal and will stay next to you off a leash. However, she does best with older female dogs and eating alone. She has been around kids ranging from newborn to 10 years old and shown nothing but love and playfulness. She is house trained and is calm in a kennel.

Story
Hank the Handsome is a shy, emotionally tender soul who spent several weeks on the lam, wandering the community frightened and alone, and while we may never know his full story, we do know he is a dog with a gentle heart fighting to feel safe again. Once brought into care, this delicate boy began to shine in the sweetest ways—tentative tail wags, soft play bows, long naps in cozy corners, and even hiding his favorite bones as if saving treasures for a better tomorrow. Every day he reveals a little more of his goofy, loveable personality, reminding us why watching a scared street dog blossom is one of the greatest joys in rescue. Hank is ready for someone patient, calm, and kind who will give him the room to open up at his own pace and the love he has always deserved.
