Story
Max is a Belgian Shepherd Malinois who is 2.5 years old. He has been professionally trained since 4 months old (including refresher training). Great recall, great on/off leash, and knows his commands. We unfortunately had an incident where he attacked one of our kids and bit her in the face. He immediately released her upon command and realized he made a mistake, but unfortunately for him, the damage was already done. He needs to go to someone who first and foremost, has no kids or at least no little kids in the home. Secondly, experience with high energy dogs would also be a must. He needs to be trained daily and worked. He really is a sweet cuddle bug, but he has forced my hand in needing to rehome him. Please give him a chance!

Story
Gracie was found running loose on S. Coulter, and rescued by our shelter. We have posted but she was never claimed, so now an SPCA dog, and available for adoption. Gracie is about 1 1/2 years of age, possibly some Shepherd/Husky mix, or even some type of Hound in that mix. Her coat coloring is black & tan, and she has one blue and one brown eye. Gracie loves toys and truly loves to play. She is a very sweet, outgoing girl. She is good with other dogs, but is a bit food aggressive. Favorite treat happens to be hotdogs. Do come meet Gracie at Amarillo SPCA, 11901 S. Coulter. Open Tues.-Sat. from 12 to 5 p.m. Ph: 806-622-0555.December 11, 2024, 12:00 pm

Story
Paige is about 8 months old and weighs approximately 40 pounds. Still growing. We believe she is Labrador mix, with possibly some American Staffordshire Terrier in her mix. Paige was abandoned, along with several siblings. All left in crates outside the Amarillo SPCA. Paige is certainly used to being around other dogs. Her coloring is white, with big black spots (that I'm sorry you can't see in this picture). Amarillo SPCA, 11901 S. Coulter.  806-622-0555.October 29, 2024, 6:29 pm

Otis is a young Belgian Malinois. He is about 6 months old. Otis was a stray, brought to our shelter by a Potter County Sheriff's Officer. A handsome boy, whose coloring is brindle, with a bit of white. He is a bit frightened right now. Our staff and volunteers will be working with him. Otis's left eye has been shot with a BB gun. Otis needs an owner who knows how to handle a Belgian Shepherd. Amarillo SPCA, 11901 S. Coulter. 806-622-0555. Our shelter is open Tues.-Sat. 12 to 5 p.m.April 4, 2025, 8:19 pm

Story
Dusty is about 3 years old (est. DOB: June 2022), and is a Boxer mix.  He's a handsome boy, and one who is very friendly and sweet with people; kids and all. He also seems okay with other dogs. His coat coloring is reddish tan, brown and white. We know Dusty needs a good home. We don't know about house training, so he may need instruction. We hope you will come meet this one. Story
Blitzen is a 3 1/2 year old (est. DOB: December 2021), indoor pet.  He appears to be Chihuahua mix.  Coat coloring is tan.  Blitzen is crate trained, somewhat quiet, and likes men and women.  We think he would be great with older kids too.  Blitzen isn't housebroken, so will need instruction.  He is good with other dogs, but introduce slowly to any other animals.  This guy is very active; has crazy energy.  We do know he likes people, kisses, and toys. Not sure which order those things would be in.  Amarillo SPCA, 11901 S. Coulter. open Tues.-Sat. from 12 to 5 p.m.  Ph: 806-622-0555.  June 5, 2025, 7:27 pm
