Story
Meet Ricky, an adorable 6-month-old Australian Cattle Dog mixed breed puppy who is ready to find his forever home! Ricky was found abandoned in a box with his brother and sister at Walgreens in Amarillo, TX on a day when it was 102 degrees outside. His brother and sister have been adopted, but this deserving little guy is still waiting on his forever family to find him and love him. Is it you? Ricky is very social, loves people of all ages, and gets along great with other dogs, cats, and kids. He is doing very well with house, crate, and leash training, making him a wonderful addition to a variety of homes. Ricky currently weighs between 22-28 lbs and is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog, around 40-55 lbs when fully grown. This young man is VERY sweet/social and loves every person he meets. Such a happy boy! He loves other dogs and would do wonderful in a home with another playful dog or as a single dog. Ricky loves to wrestle and play other dogs and chase & tug his favorite toys. He is not suited for apartment living. Overall, he has a moderate energy level and would thrive in homes with a yard where he can run and play to his hearts’ content. Ricky is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. If you’re looking for a loving, fun pup to join your family, Ricky could be the perfect match! Story
Opal is a 1.5-2-year-old female who’s guessed to be a Chihuahua/Dachshund (aka “chiweenie”) mix. She’s 11-12 pounds of pure love with her sleek black and white coat. Opal was rescued from a park known for dumping dogs in Amarillo, TX along with 3 other dogs. They had been there for over a month before we heard about them being there. As soon as we heard they needed help, we sprang into action and rescued all 4 of them. Opal was the ringleader and as soon as she walked into the trap to get the food, the other 3 followed her. All of her other friends have been adopted and now it's time for Opal to find her amazing family that will continue to love her the way she deserves. Opal can be a little nervous and sometimes hand shy at first, but once she is settled she is just the bounciest, happiest little girl who loves to sit in your lap and snuggle. In the yard she will happily frolic and play with other small or extra small dogs. She gets the zoomies a few times a day and will fly around the yard or inside for a minute or two. Her ideal forever home would spoil her rotten with treats/toys, give her lots of attention (she loves pets and belly rubs!), and have at least a small fenced yard for her to run, play, and zoomie in. She is fully grown and won’t get any bigger (unless they are fed a few too many treats in the years to come). Opal is potty and leash trained. She does well with other dogs and even cats (she may bark at them at first, but settles). With a moderate energy level, she enjoys both playtime and snuggles/naps. Because of her small size and touch of nervousness, she would do best in homes with children aged 14 years and up. APPLY TODAY! Story
Meet Rook 🐾 Rook is a 3-month-old neutered Chihuahua mix with a gentle heart that's still learning the world isn't so scary. Rook found himself on the shelter's urgent list simply because he was overwhelmed and afraid. The shelter environment can be a difficult place for a shy puppy, and while he's safe now, he's still taking things one step at a time. Right now, Rook is learning that people can be kind and that new experiences don't have to be frightening. He's not the puppy who will immediately run up to greet everyone he meets—but that's okay. We believe that with patience, consistency, and a loving home, Rook is going to blossom into a wonderful companion. He's looking for a family willing to let him move at his own pace and celebrate the little victories along the way. Watching a shy dog gain confidence is one of the most rewarding experiences, and we think Rook has a bright future ahead of him. Rook is neutered, up to date on age-appropriate veterinary care, and ready to find the family that will help him shine. ❤️🐾

Story
Meet Smokey 🐾 Smokey has come a long way since the day we met him at the shelter. When he first arrived, he was completely shut down and overwhelmed by the world around him. Since then, he’s blossomed into a playful, affectionate, goofy boy who loves being part of the action. He LOVES attention, playtime, and spending time with his people. Whether he's chasing toys, playing tug, or simply hanging out by your side, Smokey is happiest when he gets to be part of whatever you're doing. And yes... those blue eyes are just as stunning in person. Smokey already knows quite a bit—sit, shake, kennel, leave it, and drop it. He's done well with house training and is comfortable in a crate, though he may occasionally offer his opinion about being in there when he'd rather be hanging out with you. He's comfortable being handled, enjoys being brushed, and never says no to a little extra affection. Like any dog, Smokey still has a few things he's working on: • Can get mouthy during play when he's excited • Gets enthusiastic at doors and may try to rush out • Is still polishing up his leash manners Smokey forms strong bonds with his people and loves being the center of attention. While he has had positive interactions with some dogs, he has struggled sharing his home and attention with other dogs long-term. Because of that, we believe he would be happiest as the only pet in the home. The best thing about Smokey? He genuinely wants to be with his people. He's affectionate, loyal, eager to learn, and ready to find a family of his own. If you're looking for a dog who wants to be your sidekick, your adventure buddy, and your biggest fan, Smokey may be your guy. 💙

Story
This girl is brilliant and so very sweet!!! Her pedigree is probably the best I’ve personally seen - over 45 (combined) US & International championship titles in her pedigree (not her personally & I have copies of her pedigree). She’s also AKC registered. She’s a pure European Doberman, never had pups & has not been spayed. She loves kids, other dogs, cats, & loves to cuddle. She’s protective but great with new people when introduced. She’s crate & house trained. Can sit, stay/wait, lay “down”, & eat (waits for the command even with food in front of her). She’s incredibly intelligent & learns boundaries quickly. I’ve had a lot of medical issues over the last 8+mos & so her shots haven’t been updated. Now we’re moving & can’t take her with us. She’s a great dog & needs/deserves a good loving home. Please help.
