Story
Luke Skywalker (black) is 5 1/2 years old. He is up to date on shots and is neutered. My best friend adopted him but couldn't take care of him, so I took him in. I am looking to rehome him because my work schedule doesn't allow me to give him the attention he needs. He has a brother (not related) he gets along with, but he takes time to warm up to unknown dogs. He loves being in your lap and playing fetch. He is house-trained, kennel-trained, and knows the command " sit."

Story
His name is Duke, he's 1 year old, he’s very playful and loves toys, I had him since he was 3 weeks old but sadly have to give him up because going to military, he’s a very sweet dog and loves everyone, very good with other animals and people, want him to go to a loving family, he is mainly potty trained, but might take him a little bit to get used to new family because he is attached to me.

Story
Rarity is about 3-4 months old and is learning that life outside of a shelter kennel is actually pretty great. ❤️ Rarity and her two sisters were abandoned outside the Amarillo shelter on May 29 and waited there until Rebel was able to take them on July 15. Because she spent so much of her young life growing up alongside her sisters in a kennel environment, Rarity became very dependent on them for confidence and reassurance. Now in a foster home away from her sisters, she's getting the chance to figure out who **Rarity** is — and she's making progress every day! Home life is still new to her, so Rarity can be nervous or standoffish with unfamiliar sights and sounds. Thankfully, she's discovered that the resident dogs make excellent teachers. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, does well with cats, and is becoming more comfortable and showing more of her sweet personality each day. Rarity would especially benefit from a home with a friendly, confident adult dog who can continue showing her the ropes. She needs a family willing to be patient while she builds confidence and learns that new things aren't so scary. She's sweet, playful, dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and finally getting the chance to experience what being a puppy in a home is supposed to feel like.

Story
Meet Smokey 🐾 Smokey has come a long way since the day we met him at the shelter. When he first arrived, he was completely shut down and overwhelmed by the world around him. Since then, he’s blossomed into a playful, affectionate, goofy boy who loves being part of the action. He LOVES attention, playtime, and spending time with his people. Whether he's chasing toys, playing tug, or simply hanging out by your side, Smokey is happiest when he gets to be part of whatever you're doing. And yes... those blue eyes are just as stunning in person. Smokey already knows quite a bit—sit, shake, kennel, leave it, and drop it. He's done well with house training and is comfortable in a crate, though he may occasionally offer his opinion about being in there when he'd rather be hanging out with you. He's comfortable being handled, enjoys being brushed, and never says no to a little extra affection. Like any dog, Smokey still has a few things he's working on: • Can get mouthy during play when he's excited • Gets enthusiastic at doors and may try to rush out • Is still polishing up his leash manners Smokey forms strong bonds with his people and loves being the center of attention. While he has had positive interactions with some dogs, he has struggled sharing his home and attention with other dogs long-term. Because of that, we believe he would be happiest as the only pet in the home. The best thing about Smokey? He genuinely wants to be with his people. He's affectionate, loyal, eager to learn, and ready to find a family of his own. If you're looking for a dog who wants to be your sidekick, your adventure buddy, and your biggest fan, Smokey may be your guy. 💙

🐾 Meet Pinkie Pie! Pinkie Pie is about 3-4 months old, and now that she’s in foster care, we’re finally getting to see what this sweet girl is like outside of the shelter! Pinkie Pie and her sisters were abandoned outside the Amarillo shelter on May 29 and spent much of their puppyhood growing up in kennels together. Now she’s learning all about home life — and she’s doing fantastic. 💗 She currently lives with **four big foster dog brothers** and gets along great with all of them. She also loves her human foster kiddos, playing with them in the yard and following them everywhere they go. Pinkie Pie is already **crate trained**, sleeps quietly in her crate all night, and stays crated when her foster family is away. Even though she’s still new to the home, she **hasn’t had a single accident inside yet!** 🎉 Like any puppy, she sometimes needs reminding that baby toys are not, in fact, Pinkie Pie toys 😂 — but she redirects easily to her own bones and toys. Car rides are still a little scary for her, but with some patience and practice, we think she’ll catch on quickly. After spending so much of her young life behind kennel doors, Pinkie Pie is showing us just how ready she is to be someone’s dog. She’s playful, affectionate, dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and settling beautifully into family life. Now she just needs a family to make it permanent. 🐾💗
