Gordon found himself in a California shelter, and he was such a good boy that Pei People couldn't wait to rescue him! Gordon is about 36 pounds (very small), is neutered, up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. Shelter aged him at 6 years old, but foster thinks more like 4 years old. (so far, he's not telling us!) Gordon is even good in a crate (he sleeps there at night). He took a day or two to learn the dog door, but now is a pro and no accidents in the house. He would love a yard...really enjoys being outside. He also likes toys and balls. He is good with other dogs and is ready for a new home! Darlene was surrendered to the shelter when her owners could no longer care for her. She was living with 2 other dogs and appears good with new dogs. Darlene lived with kids and is housetrained, affectionate and well-mannered. Darlene will bark at strangers and sounds the alarms for deliveries. She is about 42 pounds, and we are working on cleaning up some skin issues (high quality food and fish oil, with an exam scheduled at vet). Story

Honey (she goes by Dolce, but we have another dog also with that name) came from a home with far too many dogs that overwhelmed the owner. Honey is 43 pounds, is recently spayed and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Honey is being treated for an ear infection, and is on some high quality food and fish oil to clean up her skin. She is a typical female, who can get a little growly around strangers poking and prodding (not a fan of the vet but manageable), but has lived with other dogs and kids with no issues. Her coat is cleaning up slowly with good food and some antibiotics. She came to us with a pretty patchy coat. Honey is the princess, preferring inside to out (she is completely housetrained, but just doesn't want to hang out in the yard otherwise). She is quiet, not a big barker and likes to give kisses and hugs. Honey is fostering in the Indio, California area. At around 50 pounds, this lovable pup is still just a baby at heart – playful, social, and full of goofy charm. He absolutely adores other dogs and kids, and he’ll thrive in a home with canine buddies to play and cuddle with. This is the dog that will love your kids as much as you do! He will be there to cuddle with them on their toughest day! He would love to be on the sideline cheering when they score their first goal or home run of the season. Turbo’s previous owner cared deeply about him and made the tough decision to surrender him so he could get the eye care he needs. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and more than ready to meet his forever family. &#226&#156&#168 Special Needs, Special Pup: Turbo has a condition called Corneal Endothelial Dystrophy, which causes cloudiness in the eyes as certain cells slowly die off over time. While there’s no cure and his vision may gradually decline, his current vision is still good, and daily eye drops (about $20/month) can help slow the progression. The condition is not painful, and he’s a happy, active boy – just needs a little extra love and care! Meet Molly (you may remember her as “Rita”) – a gorgeous black Shar-Pei with a heart full of love and just enough wrinkles to prove she’s wise beyond her years. Through some very sad circumstances, Molly has found her way back to Pei People, this time with her brother, Baron, by her side. We promised her that this next chapter will be the one where she finally finds her forever. Molly is a sweet, slightly timid girl who tends to favor women at first—but don’t worry, gentlemen, she just needs a little extra time to warm up. She was deeply attached to her previous mom and is already showing brave progress in bonding with her foster mom. With patience, kindness, and a few snacks, she’ll be your loyal shadow in no time. Like many Shar-Pei, Molly has a few skin issues, but this girl takes it all in stride. She hops right into the shower for her medicated baths like a pro, happily soaking up the extra scratching and lathering—it’s basically spa day in her eyes!
