Story
She was abandoned when she has a puppy. I’ve had her for a little over a year. She is now approximately 18 months old, chipped, spayed, and well-trained. She minds well. She is super friendly and loves everybody, other dogs, cats, children. She loves going to the brewery and meeting new people and other animals. She is very good with come, set, shake, lay down. She loves going on walks and does not need a leash. She will stay right with you. I would love to find her a loving forever home.

Story
This sweet girl was found sleeping in a pile of trash in an area known for people dumping trash. One of wonderful rescue partners was able to gain her trust with food and brought her home. It was discovered that she had a microchip! (YAY) But the phone number didn't work. And then her story got sadder. Upon searching the information on the microchip, it was discovered that her owner, that she had lived with since being a puppy, had recently passed away. After searching for local relatives listed in the obituary, it was discovered that Gemma had been given away and this was the second time she had gotten loose. So, since the family was still the legal owners, they surrendered her so she could find a wonderful home to spend her golden years. Gemma will need a home willing to allow her to come out of her shell at her own pace. We know this can be hard because of course you want to be able to hug and snuggle your newest family member, but some pups just need to be left alone for a while to realize they are in a safe space and their new people aren't going anywhere. She would like another pup to play with. But an older one. She is still playful, but it comes in spurts with long rests in between. She just doesn't have the energy or patience for puppy play. Gemma will need a home with a secure backyard. As she is known to wander if she gets bored. A 6-foot solid wall/fence is required, no chain-link. Because of needing a calm home, we recommend no young children. Their energy and enthusiasm are too much for her. Gemma is spayed, UTD on vaccines and microchipped. Story
Audra and her brother found themselves at the shelter, picked up as strays. The shelter is a very scary place. There's lots of noise, strange smells, and busy people. Both dogs seemed very timid in their kennel when interacting with the staff. They needed some place they could decompress and be allowed to out of their shells. While we did not have an open foster home, we felt we could help these pups. We partnered with one of our wonderful rescue friends and we have these pups in boarding. We have seen in the past where a pup at boarding blossoms quickly. They will be able to interact with all kinds of dogs and lots of different people. We felt it might take some time for them to come around. Well, our director went to meet them today and they are not scared at all. They ran right up to her and were fun and outgoing just like young pups should be. They are young, maybe 9-10 months old. They just need to spay and neutered and they will be looking for their next adventure!   Learn more about me and fill out an online adoption application on the From the Heart Rescue website at: www.fthar.org. Story
Stella was taken to the shelter with her sister, Chiquita and they are both broken hearted. Their loving owner passed away and they remaining family was unable to continue their care. They were petrified in the shelter. It is so loud and full of strange people and smells. No place for a senior pup to be. So, we have found a foster home for them both and we will give them time to decompress and adjust to their new normal. Check back for updates.
