Story
Say hello to the one and only Doug! Don’t be fooled by the size of big Doug, he is a sweet, playful, energetic, 10 month old kitten. There is one more very important thing about Doug you must know… HE IS DEAF!! Although, he doesn’t let that slow him down. *Doug needs an experienced cat owner who can handle his little bit of crazy* Doug is a big time snuggler. He loves to lay on your lap and roll all around getting pets and giving face kisses. Doug is currently in a foster home with 2 older, not so playful cats. Since he is deaf, he doesn’t know that they don’t wanna wrestle with him. He is very gentle but definitely loves to wrestle and play bite. Doug will do best in a home with another young, energetic cat. He is a very attention needing cat. He will follow you around whenever he isn’t sleeping or zooooming.  Doug is very food driven. He’s a big, growing boy who needs a lot of food to fuel his high energy. Doug’s favorite toys are crinkle balls, silvervine, and catnip. For his safety, we will not be considering any scenario for which Doug will have access to the outdoors except for a secure catio. His foster home has a catio and he loves spending time out there. Doug MUST go to a home with another rough playing and energetic cat. He will not do well with a dog, he has shown signs of aggression due to the smell of dogs. All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with age-appropriate vaccinations. Young cats have an adoption fee of $175. If you would like to apply to be a forever home for this cat, please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all our cats and kittens are best suited for indoor-only life.  ##2018530##

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Mavis, our one-eyed treasure with a heart as big as her purr. Despite her journey through medical challenges, she has shown nothing but courage, affection and an unbreakable spirit. Mavis arrived at VOKRA declawed, with a powderpuff tail and only one eye, and facing issues with her remaining eye. However, thanks to a successful surgery, she has retained her sight and is now thriving. She requires daily eye drops in her remaining eye for the rest of her life to keep her eye healthy. Mavis is a precious gem who adores cuddles and has a unique way of showing affection. Described as a " little cuddle bug," she will charm her way into your lap and heart, purring herself to sleep atop you. Despite occasional sneezing and nasal congestion due to her Persian heritage, which may need vet attention now and then, Mavis's loving nature remains unaffected. She seeks a forever home that understands her needs and offers endless love and cuddles in return. If you are looking for a companion who will fill your days with joy, love, laughter and a bit of quirkiness, Mavis is the perfect addition. Her resilience and affectionate personality make her a truly special cat waiting for a family to cherish her. Mavis should be in a home with no other pets and no small children. Experience the purest form of companionship with our beloved Mavis.

Story
Grayson was on the streets for over a year and has been through a lot of abuse from people outside. They used to kick him. He can be timid at first and will need time and patience to trust a new person but once he does he is an absolute joy. He loves playing and enjoys head rubs & cuddles. He will flop on his belly and roll around. *Note that Grayson is FIV positive.
