Story
Love a senior cat? Then you have to meet Carol. She came to us a stray, and has spent her whole life outdoors on her own. When she came to us she was in really bad shape. Her coat was matted to her skin, and it was clear she had suffered a lot in her time outdoors. Yet she remained the sweetest little purr machine. Since coming into our care we have sent this sweet gal into foster so we could have a better idea of her needs. She has loved every minute of her fancy indoor life, and hasn't looked back on her tough years on the streets. Despite her hardships she is so happy to have a safe place. She greets her foster mom with the sweetest little chirps and purrs, and cozies up for a cuddle often. Carol will need a family that is willing to give her the support she needs. She has some arthritis - but doesn't let that stop her! She manages just fine in the home with no problem using her litter box. She recently started using some little stairs which help her get up onto the bed for snuggle time! :)Carol is currently in foster so please apply for her online!cats:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Calico Secondary Color: White Weight: 3.1 Age: 11yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Meet Willow! This grey‑and‑white longhair sweetheart may wobble and flop with her wiggly walk, but she does it with so much charm that you can't help but smile. Willow has Wobbly Cat Syndrome or cerebellar hypoplasia, which just means she moves through life with her own adorable style. What she lacks in balance, she makes up for in happy, nonstop purrs the moment she gets attention.Willow may need to live in a slightly modified environment to keep safety at top of mind. Stairs can be a fall hazard, so use of baby gates to restrict access would be wise. Covering slippery floors with carpet or yoga mats will also help with traction to provide her with better grip. That being said, she is quite a capable gal and may just need a little extra care and monitoring in her new space. She loves being doted on, soaking up cuddles, playing with her humans, and showing off her long fluffy coat. Willow is a gentle, affectionate kitten who's ready to bring joy, giggles, and endless love to a family who appreciates her special sparkle. Because of her long coat, interested applicants should feel comfortable with regular brushing and grooming to help Willow keep her coat free of knots. If you're interested in adopting a special needs kitten, please send us an application today or come by the shelter during adoption hours between 12pm-3pm Tuesday-Saturday (closed on Mondays). Story
We would like to introduce you to Ms. Maisel. (NOTE: She is mostly white but has beautiful brown tabby markings as well, particularly on her tail.) This STUNNING 10 year old girl came into our care in VERY rough shape just about a month ago, surrendered to us by her caretaker. She was filthy, matted, grossly overweight, and had infections on her 'rear' from matted fur and not being able to clean herself. And she had a mass on the side of her head. Ms. Maisel had lived her whole life as an outdoor property cat. It is clear to us that she aspires to a different life. Special thanks to Boodie who has spent hours brushing and combing Ms. Maisel's coat to get it to the lovely condition it is in now. We have also been feeding Maisel a proper diet and have been pleased to see her slowly start to regain her figure. Ms Maisel is a beautiful cat and she knows it. She enjoys sitting on a lap and being stroked. She is a very sweet natured lady with excellent manners. She has been examined by our veterinarian, treated for fleas and parasites, vaccinated (FVRCP and rabies), and screened for FIV / FeLV (negative results). If you would like to learn more about Ms. Maisel, or set up an appointment to meet her, please reach out: 236-508-2287 / info@catsofsaltspring.com This beautiful angel deserves the pampered life to which she has become accustomed in her foster home!

Story
Gooseberry is a handsome black and white boy with a soft, fluffy coat and a very sensitive heart. He is currently very shy and fearful, and the world still feels like a big, overwhelming place to him. Gooseberry is looking for a calm, patient adopter who understands that some cats need extra time and compassion to feel safe.He will do best in a quiet home where he can slowly come out of his shell at his own pace, with cozy hiding spots and gentle, reassuring routines. Gooseberry may not be ready for pets and cuddles right away, but with understanding and consistency, he has the potential to build trust and form a deep bond with his person. If you have a peaceful home and a soft spot for fearful cats who need a little extra love, Gooseberry may be the perfect match. With patience and kindness, this timid boy will be able to blossom in his own time. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 4.25 Age: 2yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Pitterpatch is a beautiful young cat with a soft, fluffy coat, and a major grumpy face that could win awards. While her expression may look unimpressed, underneath it is a sensitive girl who is still learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. She is extremely fearful right now and will need a quiet, patient home that understands it may take time for her true personality to shine through.Pitterpatch will do best with an adopter who can move at her pace, provide her with calm spaces to retreat to, and continue to help her build confidence through positive experiences. She may not be the cat who is ready for cuddles right away, but with time, compassion, and understanding, she has the potential to form a deep and trusting bond.If you have a peaceful home and a big heart for shy cats (especially those with adorably grumpy faces) Pitterpatch could be the special companion you've been waiting for. With the right person by her side, this timid girl can blossom in her own time. Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 3.24 Age: 1yrs 0mths 2wks
