Story
Meet Maki, a one year (ish) old soft gray and white beauty with long, cloudlike fur and striking green eyes that seem to understand more than she lets on. Life didn’t start out easy for her, but you’d never know it from the way she loves now: deeply, loyally, and with her whole heart. Maki is a people cat through and through. Once she trusts you, she’ll melt into your presence, offering gentle affection, slow blinks, and her signature “air biscuits” as she settles in close. She’s especially fond of belly rubs and will happily soak up every bit of love you have to give. She prefers a home where she can be the center of your world. Other cats make her feel stressed, so she’s happiest as your one and only feline companion. Dogs? She could take them or leave them, true to her quietly confident nature. She loves the kids in her foster home and enjoys the company of strangers as well. Maki’s journey has shaped her into a tender, soulful companion who just wants a safe place and someone to love. Give her that, and she’ll give you everything right back. All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with age-appropriate vaccinations. Young cats have an adoption fee of $175. If you would like to apply to be a forever home for this cat, please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all our cats and kittens are best suited for indoor-only life.  ##2666767##

Story
Fluffy, one-year(ish) old Inari is an absolutely delightful kitty with the most adorable black moustache! This long-haired love is a confident, independent companion, perfect for a crafter looking for a companion.  Inari loves, loves, loves a good pet session. She'll do a little dance and give headbuts and BIG purrs. But when she's done, she's done and she's going to wander over to somewhere nearby to hang out. She's not into being picked up or sitting on a lap, but she'll hang out on the desk next to your computer all day, or snooze in her cat tree while you knit. She's interested in what you're doing, but doesn't need to be involved. She loves to sleep on the end of the bed and follow you around to see what you're up to.  Inari would do well with other friendly or independent cats. She would be completely fine as a solo cat. She was uninterested in the other cats in her foster home. It's unknown how she'd do with dogs. Inari would be fine with kids that understand that she doesn't want to be held. ##2666762##

Story
Punkin AKA The Punk is a 3 year old, majestic floof of an orange tabby.  Weighing in at a healthy 15lbs this guy is a giant scaredy cat. He has a deep rumbly purr that he will treat you to, after he's thrown his hissy fit about moving to a new location. The Punk loves to rip around the room after a feather on a stick, and when you're both tired, he will lay nearby and purr.  Punkin is jumpy around new things, so a chill, quiet home is his best bet. It is unknown how he will do with other cats or dogs, but friendly or uninterested companions may work well. Punkin can be nippy, and is best in a household that can read kitty body language, and is best in a household without small children. ##2687739##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, the adoption did not go through, so they are back. Cillian and his sister, Saoirse, are being offered as a bonded pair. They are typical kittens, born to a barn cat but well socialized by their human guardians. As a result, they are happy, social, and precocious. They have enjoyed exploring new spaces and interacting with our cats. They are often found cuddled up on or near us after exhausting themselves.  These two are litter-box trained and offered as indoor only felines.  In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, they were given Irish names: Cillian is pronounced Killian. They are indeed the luck of the Irish.   Please apply here: https://www.rocketrescue.org/forms/form?formid=5196  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 11, 2026, 6:48 pm
