Domestic Longhair kittens & cats in Ottawa, Illinois

Zoey is about 9 years old. She was already spayed and front declawed when I got her. She doesn’t seem to get along with other cats very well. I can tell she has the potential to be super sweet, but I think she is stressed out here. I believe she needs a relatively quiet home.

Rodger is about 3 years old as of February 2024.   Rodger was on our radar for a few weeks as we tried to confine him for a visible injury to his leg. Very street smart, he ignored all the attempts to lure him into a trap including sardines! Why would he? He was being fed at several homes each day; each one reporting that he was showing up very hungry! Smart boy! We were concerned when he disappeared during the arctic storm and relieved to find a caring community member had brought him into their home. He's been a tough one to agree to inside living, but he’s done it! He's sweet as can be, getting along with the other cats, and meek and mild! He tested positive for FIV, but that’s no reason for concern. He will lead a normal, healthy life and is not aggressive to the other cats. Mama Mia gave him an introductory hiss and he ran off crying! He’s very expressive and emotional! Rodger deserves safety, peace and love. Rodger had himself a new home, and was returned in a few hours and not allowed time to adjust as was promised. He will need the environment we suggest above and patience to adapt to his new home. Portland is a BIG kitty boy who came into our shelter after being found as a stray outdoors. The finders kept him for a while before bringing him to us. When he arrived here, he was extremely overweight and was matted to the skin all over with wounds underneath his matting. Lucky for him, he came to the right place and we were able to removed all of his matting and get his wounds addressed. He is now available for adoption but is still on his weight loss journey so he can be as happy and healthy as he can be. His adoption fee is $70. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and felv/fiv negative. He would really like to go to his forever home soon. Let me tell you about mister love bug, formally known as Hermes.  This perfect little cuddle partner absolutely loves to be held and pet.  He is very vocal as well and will hold conversations with you, especially with regards to his food service.  He is not hard to win over but the path to his heart goes right through his stomach for sure.  He also does really well with the foster dogs in his house and loves to be with the other cats as well.  He would probably like to have a cat friend to play with.  He is an adult but is young and still really playful but has moved past that kitten energy into the sunbathing, relaxing type of vibes.  He is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Cassion is a sweet, young male long haired cat.  He is shy at first but once he gets to know you he is very friendly and has a lot of personality.  He does great with other cats and would probably enjoy another kitty friend.  He is okay with dogs, he would be fine with a calm, respectful dog.  He would also be okay with respectful children as well, especially when he realizes they are more likely to drop food.  He can be easily won over with food, and loves to play with toys.  He is usually found hanging in the cat tree, surveying his kingdom.  He is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
