Story
Acorn is a gorgeous medium-haired black female. She is very playful and loves wand toys. She's very skittish and needs a patient home who can take the time to earn her trust. Once she gets to know you, she enjoys gentle pets. Acorn would prefer other cats that are mellow and gentle. She was also good with the small, older dogs at her foster home.

Story
This beautiful fluffy lady is Mina. She had a very rough start to her life. After all the hardships she had been through and being in a shelter, Mina was understandably beyond upset. We got her into a foster home and she’s thriving! Mina is a love bug- she wants to roll on and cuddle you, whether that’s on your lap or on your face! She doesn’t have personal space in her vocabulary. She adores attention and treats. She loves playing and getting the zoomies, too. She will happily steal things (toys or not) and carry them around. She even plays fetch sometimes! Mina is very curious and if bored will explore wherever she can. She'd benefit from having a home to run around in and plenty of toys to keep her busy. She’s very vocal; always chatting and purring. She's a great cat and has been waiting patiently for a forever home. Mina will need a patient home without cats. She may be fine with respectful, older teenagers. Mina is located in a foster home and not in the shelter so please make sure to mention her if you are interested in meeting her so we can schedule meet and greets accordingly.

Story
Jasmin and Pixie came to us from a southern Illinois animal control. They are around 2 years old and beautiful, with long grey hair. They were very matted when they came to us, and will be getting a good trim to make them comfortable. They are both sweet and enjoy affection and pets. They enjoy cuddling together, snuggled in a cozy bed. Jasmin is the braver of the too, the first to come to you for attention. Jasmin and Pixie are a bond pair and looking for a forever home together.

Story
This gorgeous girl is Camila or Cammi for short! Camila was surrendered to us after her owners were faced with health issues beyond their control. She was well loved and very spoiled, and we're hoping to find her a new home that will do the same! She is around 3.5-years-old and large cat, weighing around 13lbs. She is understandably stressed at the shelter, but does her best to try to enjoy pets from staff. Camila lived as an only pet in her previous home. She is front paw declawed. Camila has experienced some discomfort in her front paws. Our vet did x-rays and observed nail fragments in her front paws. She is currently receiving pain injections and is doing a lot better! She may require pain medication long term.

Story
Introducing the fluffy (and fiesty!) Maude. This striped little lady has probably never had a bad hair day in her life. With her shiny thick fur and bright yellow eyes, there's no denying that this girl is beautiful. Maude and her siblings joined the SAYv family a few weeks ago, after being trapped from a feral colony. These spicy babies were born outside at the end of 2023, and are slowly but surely learning that life on the inside is the place to be. Maude is still on the shy side, but is coming out of her shell more and more every day. She is a girl that knows what she wants (and it's usually wet food), and she puts on the charm to get it. She is very food motivated, but still gets scared easily so she will need a patient adopter that is willing to give her the time she needs to get more confident around people. Maude gets a lot of comfort from her siblings Matilda and Monty, and can usually be found napping with one of them in a quiet place. She will need to be adopted with another kitten or cat or go to a home that has a companion for her- especially great if it's one that can help her gain more confidence with people. Sound like you have the perfect home for this pretty girl? Apply to adopt sweet Maude here: sayvanimals.org/adopt (PLEASE NOTE: Despite what PetFinder, AdoptAPet and other aggregation software systems state - the first step is to submit an application via the link above, NOT send a message through their platforms. Thank you!

Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Portland is a BIG kitty boy who came into our shelter after being found as a stray outdoors. The finders kept him for a while before bringing him to us. When he arrived here, he was extremely overweight and was matted to the skin all over with wounds underneath his matting. Lucky for him, he came to the right place and we were able to removed all of his matting and get his wounds addressed. He is now available for adoption but is still on his weight loss journey so he can be as happy and healthy as he can be. His adoption fee is $70. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and felv/fiv negative. He would really like to go to his forever home soon. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov, or stop by during our open business hours to meet Portland.
