Story
Flo is a little over 5 years old.  She  is such a sweet, docile girl.  She was the only pet in her former home for 4 years, until her mom and dad had a human baby.   Flo did not handle the changes with the new family member very well.  We suspect the introduction of the new baby was not a positive experience for Flo. This caused significant anxiety for her.  Her former parents chose to lock her up in their mud room. She had never seen a vet while in their care.  She had never left the home for any reason.   When we took her in, she completely shut down.  It took time and patience to earn her trust and help her.  She has seen the vet, is up to date on vaccines, blood work all normal.  Overall she is a very healthy girl with some anxiety issues due to her world being turned upside down.  She is on fluoxetine daily and gabapentin when she need to take her out in a carrier.  And for vet visits.  Vet is hopeful once she finds her forever home, it is possible she can be weaned off fluoxetine.  And with continued positive experience with the carrier, hopefully someday she won’t need to be medicated for travel.  Flo is in a foster home with other cats and dogs.  After slow and proper introduction, she truly enjoys being with other cats.  Dogs are ok, she will ignore them if they simply ignore her.  She loves to brushed.  Enjoys petting once she feels safe with you. She loves to play!  Loves the laser light and also any wand toy.  She loves to with you!  Her adoption fee is $100.  She is spayed and microchipped also.   To adopt Flo go to www.furangelsas.com and fill out an application.April 20, 2026, 9:20 pm

Story
Meet Reggie: Professional Snack Enthusiast, Couch Connoisseur, Big Soft Boy Reggie is a very handsome domestic long-haired gentleman with a grey body, snowy white feet, and a white chest and face that make him look permanently dressed for a fancy dinner. Weighing in at nearly 16 pounds, he’s basically a grey Garfield—minus the lasagna, plus the charm. Reggie had a rough start to life and was found outside, so the whole “living indoors with people” thing is still kind of blowing his mind. He knows he likes humans (especially the ones with food), and he is obsessed with ear scratches. Seriously—ear scratches are his love language. That said, sometimes he gets a little overstimulated because everything is still new, so he’ll do best with people who can read his signals and give him space when he needs it. Did we mention food? Because Reggie LOVES food. Feeding time is his time to shine, and he will happily announce it to the entire household with his impressive vocal talents. He's a chatty boy, especially when it's time for dinner! We estimate Reggie is about 2 years old, so he's a young guy ready to live out many years with his future owners. What we don’t know about his past, we do know about his future: it includes a warm couch, full food bowls, and being snuggled up next to his people like he’s always meant to be there. Reggie is ready for the good life—and honestly, the good life is ready for Reggie. Story
Adopt Chile! You’ve heard of “a little spicy”? Well, Chile started off as a little more than a little spicy, but with time, this boy's heat has been extinguished and now he's ready for his forever home. His estimated birthday is 3.29.2025. With his sleek, long black fur, adorable white chest patch, and smoldering stare, this barn-born boy knows he’s gorgeous—and acts accordingly. He’s not here to win your affection with soft meows and an immediate leap into your lap - Chile makes you work for his love - but it's oh so worth it when you win him over. Chile has a playful side - one that comes out most when he's with other kitty friends, so we do think he would like to have a feline friend, but we also think he could do ok on his own. He's a boy that's been through a lot, but if you give him time, this sweet boy will show you that he was well worth the wait. Story
Meet Thor! He is 3 years old and is absolutely adorable! He was found as a stray and is settling in with us, so he is still a little nervous. He enjoys pets from staff and sitting in their laps. He finds comfort in hide outs and cave beds. He doesn’t seem to mind other friendly cats. He is making great progress, but will need a patient person to offer him the time and space to adjust and blossom!

Story
Acorn is a gorgeous 6-year-old medium-haired black female. She is very playful and loves wand toys. She's very skittish and needs a patient home that can take the time to earn her trust. Once she gets to know you, she enjoys gentle pets. Acorn would prefer other cats that are mellow and gentle. She was also good with the small, older dogs at her foster home. Acorn is not litter-box trained.

Story
Guera, Nene, and Chocolata came to our shelter under heartbreaking circumstances when their beloved owner was suddenly deported, leaving them without the home they knew. It’s been a big, confusing change for them, and they are still adjusting to their new surroundings. Right now, all three are feeling nervous and unsure in the shelter environment. They tend to be sensitive to quick movements and loud activity, so they would do best in a calm, quiet home with older family members who understand the importance of patience and gentle interactions. Each of them deserves the chance to decompress, to rest, and to slowly rediscover what it means to be loved and secure. A stable, understanding home will make all the difference in helping them come out of their shells and show their true selves. They have been through so much, and what they need now is simple: a soft place to land and someone willing to give them the time they need. They were in a foster home before coming to the shelter, and her foster felt like Chocolata and Guera loved hanging out together. While it is not required for them to be adopted together, we feel like they would be a good pair for those interested in adopting a pair!
