Storm is an affectionate fluffy cat. Like most cats, he likes to snuggle when he's in the mood or kneed your chest if you let him in the bed. He's good with kids, dogs, and cats and can be a snob about dry food.

Story
Lilly is a gorgeous 9 year old (born 4/3/2015) long-haired tortie. She is an independent gal which is a pretty common trait for many torties. With her long coat, she needs to be brushed regularly and a favorite brush will be sent with her. What worked very well for her was a brushing every other day with professional groomings about once a quarter but her new family can make their own routine to help keep her coat beautiful. She can be a very sweet cat but needs to do things on her terms and she can get a little agitated if she is given more attention, brushing, or petting than she wants at that moment. She will usually just walk away when she has had enough or may give a light hiss. She was a great cat for a family that had two working professionals who traveled frequently but once they added children to their family, it was too much for Lilly. She needs to be in a home with no little kids and no other cats or dogs. She will do best in a home with little activity and an experienced cat owner. Lilly prefers to be the one who approaches you and would rather be close to her humans rather than sitting directly on a lap. She isn’t a fan of being picked up but that isn’t too uncommon for many cats. She is a talker and she will appreciate having a soft blanket to knead as she is a great “biscuit maker.” She doesn’t hide when visitors arrive but she also won’t greet new people – she will likely just stand by and watch the activities. Lilly can be quite playful and when she is, she enjoys catnip toys, string toys and balls that she can bat around. She has a scratching post she enjoys that will go with her to her new home along with a water fountain and other supplies to ensure a good start. Before her previous family had children, she enjoyed sleeping on the end of the bed with them and we anticipate that she will appreciate doing that in her new home as well. Some of her favorite things are sunbathing in sun puddles and sitting near fireplaces and other warm places. Lilly will be a great companion for someone who understands her independent side and who doesn’t need a cat to be lovey-dovey 100% of the time and understands that she will share her sweet and playful side when she feels safe and comfortable.
