Molly is an 11 year old long-haired gorgeous beauty. She is a very sweet, gentle gal with a bit of a shy side particularly when strangers come to visit. When the doorbell rings, she will likely run and hide but she is very loving and playful when she understands that she is in a safe place with someone she trusts. Molly loves being brushed which is important for a long-haired cat and it also provides a great bonding time. For her first nine years, she lived with a single mom and child until allergies became an issue for the family. Fortunately, when that occurred, she was taken in by a very kind senior lady who has enjoyed her companionship for the last two years. She is now looking for a new forever home because the senior lady is moving somewhere that Molly can’t follow. We’re hoping that the third time is a charm and that she will be able to live out her retirement years with a new forever family. Molly always wants to be in the same room as her human and enjoys cuddle time and lots of pets. She doesn’t necessarily sit directly on a lap but is always close by on the couch or the arm of a chair. She enjoys sleeping under the covers and finds it as a safe hiding space when strangers visit. With her current mom, she doesn’t sleep in bed with her but that’s primarily because she moves around too much but with someone who isn’t as restless, she may very well sleep with you if desired. Molly is a very sweet girl who doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body and her current mom has never even heard her hiss. She hasn’t lived with another cat before but she doesn’t get affected when she sees an outside neighbor cat through the slider and just watches them so she may do fine with a slow, proper introduction to another cat but she may prefer to be an only cat. Some of her favorite toys are a circle ball toy and hanging stick toys that she can bat at. She seems to know her name and comes out when she is called. She used to have a problem chewing cords but once cord protectors were put on them, that was the perfect detractor to keep her from chewing on them. Molly just had a recent dental cleaning with several extractions so it’s also possible that some of her chewing issues could have been related to her sore mouth but to be safe, a new family would benefit from using cord protectors (some will be sent with her). She is good about using a scratching post and her new family will want to be sure she has scratchers available so she doesn’t accidentally scratch something you don’t want her to. She is a big girl who may need an occasional sanitary trim to keep her rear-end clean and she could benefit from some weight loss. Just like many cats, Molly appreciates a consistent routine and would likely do best in a quiet home with no young children. She doesn’t appreciate closed doors and will share her concern with a loud meow and she is a smart girl who has figured out how to open a closet door. She also meows for her favorite treat which is Senior Bisque. She loves watching the birds and squirrels from a perch placed near a window which will go with her to a new home along with several other supplies to help her new family have a great start. Molly recently had senior blood work done and everything came back within normal limits which is great news! Molly will be a wonderful companion for someone who is willing to give her the time she needs to feel safe. She will greatly reward you with lots of love and cuddles.

All are given distemper vaccinations and depending on how long the pet has been in foster care, additional vaccine(s) may be necessary and the expense will be incurred by the adopter. Chumley and Rhapsody…. Cats 5 and 6 from the location in Montcalm Co where their caregiver passed away several months ago. The cats have remained on the property and a kind neighbor has been driving down to feed them every day. There are still 7 cats there. We are working them in 1-2 at a time as we can. These cats were fixed and loved by the woman who cared for them before her death. They are friendly and so very affectionate. Each one that has come in has brought tears to our eyes with their loving, grateful hearts. Rhapsody is the sweetest lady! She just wants love, pets, and a warm lap or blanket to sleep on! Budgie is one cute girl! She came to FOF after being dropped off in a carrier at the back door. She is a bit scared and shy at the shelter; however, she is super sweet and loving!
