APPLICATION IS THE FIRST STEP https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ADVR/Cat Meet Crush, born approximately December of 2021. He has been with the current foster since he was a kitten because he was found to have a congenital heart issue. The vet gave a guarded prognosis as a kitten but for almost 2 years now, he's been thriving at foster home that the foster believes he deserves his very own home. He is currently on one medication that he tolerates well. Crush is will initially hide when a stranger enters the home but once he warms up to you, he is the sweetest cat in the household. He loves to sleep by foster human's feet or loaf right next to them and purr away as he shares his warmth. He is the first to come running when foster mom calls her cats and ask for pets. He has been living all his life with other cats and get along with them very well. He will sleep and cuddle with foster's cats. Because he is a gentle cat, he would do well with any cats who have been around other cats. He loves to play with mice toys, wand toys and often wrestles with other cats. He will not go a day without missing his "tuxie zoomie" where he'd be making chirping noise as he runs around the apartment. Crush is already neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and FIV/FELV negative. Given Crush's personality, a home with other cats would be the best fit for him. All of AdvoCat Rescue's cats and kittens are fostered in private homes. We require a completed pre-application to be submitted prior to scheduling potential adopters to meet them. Once an application is approved, we then schedule a virtual meet & greet. He presented to ACC having litter box accidents. He has feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) and as a consequence had a perineal urethrostomy performed. He has had a history of persistent hematuria and straining to urinate and is prone to urinary tract infections. He will require follow up care to ensure the urinary infections resolve. Roebling allows some handling but has limited patience for medical handling and has required sedation.What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.Roebling tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.Please check here for updated adoption hours.A volunteer writes: Roebling was brought to us in May after being found abandoned in a crate on the sidewalk, but that's hardly the most interesting thing about him. He has the most amazing and least discerning decision making skills. We lined up three toys on his mat for Roebling's review. We had his rainbow mouse, then a kitty chew stick, and lastly, a pipe cleaner. Appearing to move with neither rhyme nor reason, Roebling held the pipecleaner in his little cat mouth while reaching for the rainbow mouse so that he could hold it in both paws. Rolling onto his back and dropping his pipecleaner in the process, he had the rainbow mouse up in the air before trying to kind of swipe the stick from the side. It wasn't the most effective, efficient, or graceful, but Roebling's combination is more about creativity. After playtime, he stretched himself into my arms and happily cuddled, leaning his neck into my hand with each roll. Truthfully each time I've passed by his condo since May, Roebling has been inside his den. The last time I was visiting with his neighbor, he came running out to say hello and I was treated to this spectacular show. So, next time you visit the Care Center please take a moment to sit by Roebling and meet this perfect little starburst of a cat.
