Our beautiful Aurie was formerly known as Bette and was adopted from our program as a kitten in 2021. She was surrendered back into our program a couple months ago after her adopters accused her of misusing the litter box, which left us highly confused given that Aurie had never had litter box issues at any point while in our program. It was only after she had rejoined our program and hadn't had a single accident in her foster home that we learned that Aurie had been absolutely terrified of the Great Dane in the home and that had likely caused her issues (if they even existed). We're glad Aurie is back with us. We are going to make doubly sure that the family she finds this go around will be truly worthy of her! Aurie is an absolute sweetheart! She is sweet and social. She gets along with other cats, does well with smaller sized dogs, is fantastic with children and loves people in general. She is happy, healthy and up to date on all wellness/vaccines. If you feel you may be Aurie's forever family, complete the Adoption Interest Form! PS. Great Dane owners need not apply. (It's just that WE love GDs but Aurie, well, doesn't!)

Like a properly brewed cup of tea, handsome Earl Grey is at once subtle and commanding, a full-bodied guy with a gentle, unassuming personality. For years, Earl Grey remained fearful of people, preferring to hang back on the perimeters of the outside enclosure. When a new enclosure was constructed for our more shy kitties at the refuge, Earl Grey was relocated by the staff in hopes he’d make some gradual progress with socialization. And what a difference it has made! Earl Grey hangs out in the main room of the adoption building a good bit now, waiting on feeding times. A couple of our dedicated volunteers have made efforts to interact with him on a regular basis, and he now allows gentle pets from those who’ve showed him consistent kindness and patience, and we look forward to seeing him continue to gradually come out of his shell.Earl Grey is a cat for experienced cat owners only who understand patience, cat communication/body language and the need to allow the cat to bloom and bond 100% at their own pace over time. The home environment needs to be peaceful and tranquil, with no children under the age of 16. In addition to unrestricted access to a warm, safe home environment, Earl Grey also requires safe restricted access to the outdoors - for example, a screened porch or safe outdoor area with cat-proof fencing. If you would like to meet him, please schedule an appointment to meet him in person and our volunteers would be happy to initiate an introduction. Approx DOB: 11/14/2013

Finn was surrendered to the NYC shelter and found himself on death row and completely devastated. He made his way into rescue where he was diagnosed with urinary crystals. Staying on a prescription diet has worked well. He is playful, and loves to run across the wood floor and slide when turning corners. He is talkative and loves to snuggle on his terms. At times he will fall asleep wrapped around your arm or in your lap. He can have some catitude from time to time so would not recommend young children or an inexperienced cat person. He is hopeful to find that Purrfect home with someone willing to have a little understanding and patience. Finn fell in love with a young woman who went off to collage.
