Story
We adopted Hermi from a litter that a schoolteacher was fostering with her class at an elementary school along with her sister in August 2012. She was lively and sweet and her unique markings drew us to her. We had to have her even though we only meant to adopt 1- her sister! We lived a wonderful 6 years with her and her sister before having kids. Her sister passed away around the time our second child came. Hermi is friendly, loving, purrs, and plays gladly with adults. She has kept her distance with our young children and does not like them to touch her. It’s been hard for her to have her own space in our house so we’d love her to find a family who doesn’t have tiny children.

Story
My name is Esmeralda. I was a little bit late to getting to know about people, but I am very curious, and very brave, so I've become affectionate and even gregarious. (If any other cat is getting pets, I should be getting them too - that's only fair, right? And you are lucky that you get so many chances to pet me the rest of the time, too!) More than anything else, I like to be where things are happening. I am very beautiful - and it takes a lot of work to keep long fur like this this nice! I march around like a little general. I also love to play! Playing with my buddy Robin is one of my favorite things, but playing with the laser pointer or the feather is also great! I'll even entertain myself with a toy mouse, a crinkle ball, or a piece of fluff. Sometimes even my own tail. (Ahem!) I do not like being chased! Really, who does? But if you hold out your hand and let me approach you, I will grace you with my silky fur, and floof you with my tail. I might even crawl into bed with you or fall asleep on your feet.

Story
Meet Rocky, a wonderful cat with a great disposition and big heart. He is extremely friendly, affectionate, loves pets and chin scritches and just hanging out in the top of the cat tower in a sunny window. Rocky loves getting attention from all of his foster moms and gets along with other cats; he would probably do well with gentle dogs if introduced properly. Rocky is an easy going cat with a gentle and loving spirit. This handsome boy would love to be your only cat or as a companion to another gentle feline friend in a calm and peaceful household. Rocky was brought to IAR with an injury to his back leg. He was walking on 3 legs and wasn't able to pull his back leg up to his groin. IAR vetted him and are still attending to his injuries which are recovering beautifully. Because he had no owner and is such a friendly fella, we brought him into our foster program to help him find his furrever home. Could that be with you?

Story
Meet Mylar! Our hearts truly sing when we talk about this boy. He is over-the-top affectionate. Mylar is extremely friendly, and he loves everyone he meets. Mylar gets along with everyone - humans and kitties and even cat-friendly dogs. His sweet disposition is out-of-this-world. Mylar is a friendly, playful little guy. He is super playful - loves to wrestle with his brother, Milton, and the other kitties in his foster home. He LOVES to play, so a playful/friendly buddy in his new home will be required. Mylar also really loves his brother, Milton, so if you are looking to adopt 2 kitties, Mylar would thrive with his brother being his forever buddy. Milton and Mylar are true best friends. They are always together playing and cuddling.Mylar is the ultimate cuddler. He can't get close enough to his human for all the snuggles. He loves to cuddle with you while watching TV. He will curl up right under your chin at night for all the bedtime cuddles. He is super affectionate and even puts his adorable little paw on your face for those extra hugs he likes to give. Mylar's litter of kittens was extremely sick as tiny young babies, and it has been determined that little Mylar has chronic rhinitis. Chronic rhinitis in cats is unfortunately fairly common. Many young kittens are exposed to respiratory infections at a very young age that damage the structures in their nasal passes. Unfortunately, the damage cannot be corrected. Because of the scarring caused, as Mylar gets older, he will have a tendency to get nasal infections, sometimes watery eyes, and often noisy breathing. He occasionally may need to go on antibiotics, but often using nasal saline sprays, a humidifier, and increasing his water intake can make a big difference. These are snuffler kitties, and they need love too! While they may have periodic flare-ups, they are NOT contagious to other cats. Mylar is in a foster home with 6 other kitties, and they all play and share all their toys and food like any other kitties would. Mylar has no hold-ups because of his chronic rhinitis. He has so much energy just like any other kitten. He plays and enjoys life just like the rest of them. Mylar is 100% litter box trained and minds all his kitty manners. If you are looking for an affectionate, friendly, playful, and sweet kitty, this little boy will melt your heart. He might just be your perfect match.
