Story
Long haired kittens tend to get a lot of adoption applications. Please allow longer than normal processing times. If you are looking for a single kitten, please read our policy on that or your application will be denied! Introducing Etoufee- the silliest, loudest, pint size kitten of the group.  It is amazing that such a voice can come from such a tiny little body! The ongoing commentary always has me laughing- this kitten will MEEEEEOOOOW every time you are near, at feeding time, and even DURING feeding time in between bites. Quite a character and has been a joy to foster. Sibling to Jambalaya, Praline, and Chicory. If you are interested in adopting Etoufee, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. Story
Sam is a beautiful Maine Coon mix with a slightly red tinted black coat, long tufts on paws, bushy tail and ruff to keep his neck warm. He was begging in my neighborhood, so I started feeding him and after a day or two he would walk right up and beg from my kitchen door. Attempts to find his home went unanswered. This extrovert is not shy of anything or anyone. He is a door greeter and loves to meet you at the door and knows no strangers. However, he is on a daily medication. He prefers a male owner and is less a fan of chilling with women. Sam enjoys being gently petted, never aggressively, when he approaches you. Once he has had enough his ears will begin to flatten and that is the time to stop. He likes to be softly held or picked up.Sleeping on your bed is his preference but not on top of you. Being alone in the house is no problem for Sam. Sam is a cat that loves to be admired. If you are interested in adopting Sam, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. Story
Meet Kelce! He's the sweetest kitty ever and he's sure to steal your heart. He is quite the athletic boy and can be seen running, jumping maybe scoring a touchdown or two. He's quite energetic and would probably do best with someone who can entertain him frequently or even a playful sibling. He has super soft long hair which will require a little maintenance so getting him used to weekly brushing will be key. Story
I adopted Mel in 2020 as a gift to my sister and brother-in-law. I had been looking for a cat for them and saw him on the website and he was so beautiful that I met and adopted him. He has lived with another cat for these four years. The reason that I am looking to surrender him is because my brother-in-law died in April and my sister has dementia and is now in a nursing home. Therefore Mel is homeless. I cannot keep him because I also live in a retirement community and have a dog and Mel is staying with me temporarily but I am not allowed to keep him. We are only allowed to have one pet and that rule is unbreakable. Mel also gets along very well with my dog. In the years I’ve been around him, he has never had a behavioral issue and is very sweet and is very friendly and likes to play. He has been well loved by my sister and brother-in-law and the situation is sad for us all.

Story
Athena, one of 6 "Carola Cats," is a sweet, shy c silly cat. She was found inside a Toyota Carola one fine summer. I re-homed her siblings when they were found a couple years ago (apx. 4); kept her since she was playing and adjusting to my other cats. She was the first to get comfortable with humans out of the litter. You can always easily motivate her or get her to come out with some wet food (loves her some cat Go-Gurt) or a laser pointer (her fav, try pointing it at her feet and she walks backwards!). She is timid with new people/guest but is always looking to sneak in pets when she feels courageous. Often I awake to her having snuck in between my legs/on top of my chest. Never had any aggression issues with her & she gets along great with my cats. She would do great in a one or multiple cat home is the cats are friendly. Many times she seems to care more about them than the humans but even in a no cat home she would be great & finally get the chance to not have other cats disrupt

Story
Do you want to be admired but not have people be all handsy/huggy with you? Me too!!! I am a gorgeous boy who has had a bit of a rough life and that has led me to be suspicious of some people (especially men). I have tried meditating but found that setting boundaries (3 pets on the head and not 4; snuggles only when authorized) is the best way to go. My person who gave me all the love in all the right doses passed away and now I am looking for that purrfect person who understands that I just like company and to be near you and like to be the one making the first move for attention. I am gorgeous, fluffy, entertaining and low energy. I am an easy boy to have around. I do have allergies to dust and such and as such may sneeze some artsy designs upon occasion but it doesn't slow me down and I don't mind if you don't. I was overlooked by people before my last mom because I am FIV+. What does that mean? Not a lot. It is mostly a label. People say that if I get sick I should go to the vet but that is pretty much what you would do with any cat. So if you care about what it means then you can find out more at https://fivcats.com/. I live with other cats and do fine. I just like a nice window, soft bed and person to snuggle next to. And I love my picture taken. If my handsome face makes you smile, then consider letting me make you smile every day and make me part of your family.  If you are interested in adopting Humphrey, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60-75 miles of the Raligh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. DOB is approx 3/22/2018 Adoption fee is $50 ##1111324##
