Story
Hi everyone, my name is Shadow! Please note: I am available for adoption viewing at one of GHS` satellite locations: Campus Estates Animal Hospital, located at 1460 Gordon St in Guelph. You are very welcome to drop by during their business hours to see how wonderful I am! I’m loving and curious, though I may start off a little shy. I warm up quickly, and once I do, I enjoy sharing affection through soft purrs, tender head bumps, and curling up close. I love quiet, cozy spaces, sunny windows, and staying near my favorite humans without needing all the attention. With my sweet nature, playful curiosity, and expressive charm, I’m a devoted companion who forms deep, lasting bonds. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate, and full-of-personality cat who will quickly become your shadow and your snuggle buddy, then I’m the girl for you!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES... CHILDREN: I could be a good match with respectful and mature children. OTHER CATS: I could be a good match with a cat after a proper introduction. DOGS: I could be a good match with a dog after a proper introduction. SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME... FIRST TIME CAT OWNERS: Yes.ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium. If you think I would be a good match for your home, please click the `Adopt Me` button to apply!

Story
Klaus is coming to town!Fittingly, Klaus arrived at EHS from a municipal animal shelter during the Christmas season. Similarly to his namesake Santa, Klaus is described as having a big, bold personality and is ready to settle down in a place to call home.ABOUT KLAUS- In foster- Having once lived as a stray on the streets, Klaus is cautious when it comes to new people and environments. A big fan of the slow approach, he appreciates those who take the time to get to know him through gentle communication and soft blinks. If he feels unsafe, he will hiss and swat.- Once he is comfortable, he loves a few head and chin scritches with the back-scratcher.- He loves to snuggle in his kennel in the shelter but also to survey the world around him while resting on top of his cat tree.- Klaus has FIV, which is a virus that weakens the immune system of a cat but is not transmissible to humans or other species.- He is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans.- He is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help him become more comfortable around people.- Klaus is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.KLAUS’ IDEAL HOME- Klaus would prefer to be the only cat of the household.- Klaus does not require medication but vet checkups twice a year are recommended.- Cats who have FIV can live just as long as other cats if they are properly cared for with a good diet, an indoor home, and a loving family. - A skittish cat, like Klaus, will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Klaus settle into his new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Klaus with a successful transition to his forever home.Always nice and sometimes naughty, Klaus is ready to retire his past life and start again in time for the new year. If you’re ready to give Klaus his second chance, apply to adopt him today. If you have any questions about Klaus or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com

Story
DOB: Feb 4, 2016 Meet Erin, a very lovely senior cat. She is a fluffy bundle of gentleness and charm. She is friendly, sweet, and endlessly cute, with a calm nature that makes you feel at ease. Her beautiful eyes are especially captivating, full of warmth and quiet curiosity. Although the vet says she is visually impaired, Erin moves through the world with confidence, only occasionally bumping into something. Her unique way of seeing does not diminish her beauty at all. In fact, once you look into her eyes, you will absolutely fall in love just like her foster family has. Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adult cat adoption fee of $250.

Story
Introducing Moc — a playful, confident, and very mailable kitten. I often refer to him as my little Black Labrador Retriever, because honestly… he has full-on puppy energy. He plays fetch, chews toes and blankets, and is always on the lookout for attention.Moc starts his mornings by greeting you with a wiggly bum, then flopping onto his back to show off his belly. I usually scoop him up for a few minutes of one-on-one time, and he absolutely lives for it. Instant purrs, constant rubbing—this little guy truly can’t get enough love.Moc adores older kitties and greets them respectfully, making him an excellent buddy cat. With younger cats, he tends to show an alpha personality—he wants to be the boss before playtime begins. Because of this, I slowed down his introductions, and he’s now doing great with all resident cats. The first couple of weeks were a learning curve, but he’s adjusted beautifully. He’s fantastic with people, too—especially humans who come bearing the right treats. Moc is confident, affectionate, and full of personality, and he would thrive in a home that enjoys an interactive, social cat.Moc must be adopted with Soft or as a buddy to a friendly resident cat.Like all ACR cats, Moc is vaccinated and has been treated for fleas and parasites.
