Story
Meet Leo! This big fluffball is a happy, independent cat. He is about 6.5 yeaars old. Leo is friendly and likes to be pet. His favorite spots are under his chin and his tummy. He loves to sit with his foster parents for attention and when he is done, off he goes for a nap. Leo will allow being picked up but only for short periods. He likes to play with a lazer pointer, and will stalk and pounce toys or small things like cotton balls. Leo loves to talk when he sees you. He also loves temptations and catit creamy treats. Leo would do best as the only cat in a calmer home. Older more respectful children would be okay. Leo does not like the dog in his foster home and is not proven with other cats. As a long haired cat, he will need regular brushing and likely grooming once or twice a year. This handsome boy has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has had his teeth cleaned and 6 teeth removed. Leo has had a hard life. He was rescued from a motel where monthly renters were feeding him. Leo does have a grade 3 heart murmur and is FIV positive (FELV negative). He is not taking anything for the heart murmur and FIV does not require any treatment. Leo will require an annual vet visit to check on his heart and we have included information on FIV below. If you have room in your heart & your home for this very handsome fluffball, contact us here, email heartstohomesfelines@gmail.com or fill out an application at heartstohomes.ca. FIV is a feline only virus that cannot be transmitted to people or other animal species. FIV is passed between cats through a deep bite wound – deep enough to inject saliva into the bloodstream of the other cat – commonly occurring in outdoor cats who fight for territory. FIV is not passed between cats through casual contact like sharing food bowls or litter boxes or through playing, wrestling or licking/cleaning each other. Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine conducted a long-term study in cat shelters and found that FIV-positive cats can live with FIV-negative cats and not infect the FIV-negative cats during normal day-to-day interaction. Studies over the last 10 years have also shown that cats with FIV often live as long as otherwise healthy cats that do not have this virus. Story
Wallie showed up at a rural property with a big voice and lots of love to give. He is a real snuggler and loves to be near his humans, and will complain loudly when he's not! He loves his breakfast and dinner and will try and convince you he hasn't eaten to sneak a second helping. He is playful and is happy to play on his own. His ideal forever home would have many hands to pet him, lots of laps to cuddle in and beds to snuggle in! He must be the only cat in the home, as he bullies other kitties. He is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on his vaccines and has been neutered. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! An adoption application can be found at www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com (click on Adopt, then Cats for Adoption, then scroll to the bottom of the page). We require 2 non-familial references (including contact numbers) as well as permission to speak with your vet. An application does not guarantee an adoption. We match the kitty with the best family. You must be 21 years old to adopt. The adoption fee is $200. It may take up to 72 hours to approve your application. Please provide all requested information, including contact numbers, to help expedite the process. Repeated phone calls and emails will not move your application along. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue. We are not able to facilitate meet and greets before an application is received. You are not able to meet multiple kitties to see if one fits as the animals may be fostered in different locations. Please help us get the kitties to their forever homes faster by respecting these guidelines!

Don’t let her name fool you, Stormy is more sparkle than stormcloud! This petite powerhouse is full of pep and personality, zipping through her day with the confidence of a cat twice her size. Looking for a compact companion with a zest for life and a dash of love? Stormy is ready to breeze into your world and make every day a little more electric!***NOTE*** Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets. They will be experiencing a new environment and meeting new people, which means they may not exhibit the same behaviours they did in their foster videos or while in foster care.If you are viewing this animal through 24Petconnect by PetPlace or Adopt-a-pet, please visit our website https://kwsphumane.ca/adopt/process to submit an application. MOON - DLH, female, spayed, black tabby & white, DOB May 30/16 My family no longer wanted me after 9 years ....I can't understand what I did wrong as I loved them so much The lovely Volunteers at Neveah told me that I did nothing wrong and that they will find me a loving and forever home who will love me forever. I love being brushed and pet and I purr non-stop! I haven't been tested with other cats. At this stage I would need to be the only cat as I've never lived with other cats. July 3, 2025, 9:08 pm

Story
Meet Rain – Your Future Chatty, Loving Queen! Rain’s journey started in a large feral colony at the Sobeys in New Hamburg, where she was rescued in October 2023 along with her three kittens. She’s since embraced indoor life with grace and is now ready for her forever home – and trust us, she’ll make it one full of love and gentle conversation! Rain is a stunning long-haired beauty (just look at that elegant fluff!) who greets you every time you walk into the room with a soft “hello.” She’s not just a pretty face – she’s affectionate, talkative, and loves sharing head bumps and biscuits with her favorite humans. Rain is the kind of girl who will happily show you her belly for rubs, then sprawl in a sunbeam or perch by the window to watch the world go by. She enjoys interactive play with feather wands, laser toys, and catnip – but she’s not a fan of loud noises or sudden movements. Rain would thrive in a calm, peaceful home where she can settle in at her own pace. She’s friendly with calm, respectful dogs but isn’t comfortable around rowdy or unpredictable ones. Rain is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and so ready to take the next step in her journey. Now, she just needs a patient, loving family willing to give her the time she needs to blossom into the loyal, affectionate companion she’s meant to be. Rain is being fostered in Elmira. If you’re ready to welcome this gorgeous queen into your home, please visit rtcrescue.ca to learn more about our adoption process and submit your application. Give Rain the forever family she deserves – she’s waiting to say hello!
