Story
Birthday: May 12, 2015 Location: Etters, PA This sophisticated lady is Bella, and she's hoping to find a loving home where it's quiet and calm. She came from an extremely loud, stressful, and chaotic household, where there were many dogs, cats, and even eight children! The traumatic experience left her losing a ton of weight, constantly hiding, and so many other unpleasant things. Since she moved into her foster home, she's been getting better.  Though she's still not a fan of dogs, she's slowly getting a little better around other cats.  As long as the other kitties are calm, maybe older, she might be willing to give them a shot.  However, due to her past experiences, she might do better in a home without. She's currently learning how to be around little children, but we think she would be fine with older kids or children who can respect Bella's personal space. She would do wonders with an older couple! This seems to be her only request for her new family, but it pales in comparison to her good points! She's a calming presence who loves to nuzzle against your legs! Whenever her foster parent walks in the room, Bella immediately has to greet her and lay in front of her legs, purring nonstop! She can be a talker and loves to meow at you.  Of course, her meows sound a LITTLE like an old lady who smoked a little more than a few cigarettes in her day. (Please don't tell her we said that!) While she's not too playful, there is one toy she absolutely loves: her catnip-filled toy mice! This girl has been through a lot and just wants a home where she can be showered with all the attention you can muster! Look at that face! How can you deny her? Her adoption donation is $75 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. Story
Grace's Birthday: June 28 2014 Frankie's Birthday: June 28, 2015 Would you believe that these two girls are mother and daughter? It's true!  They were rescued by LCCR shortly after their owner passed away. They've always been together, and they want to keep it that way!  That's why they're searching for a quiet home with a family to dote on! They don't consider themselves lap cats, but they are incredibly affectionate despite it!  They'd do anything to sit close to you!  They don't even mind older cats if there are some waiting for them in their new home!  But kitties? They can't keep up with those high-energy nuggets of joy!  These two girls will play with each other, whether it's a bit of string or chewing on ribbon!  They love their cardboard scratching pads and sisal rope!  And these girls always need to look good for you!  So they take their grooming regime very seriously!  And by seriously, we mean they'll go nuts!   Momma Frankie is the orange and gray tortie who's sporting some sweet white sockets and gloves!  She even has a white bib to tie the whole look together!  Her fur is as soft as silk, and her flat face is just too much to resist!  One glance at those golden eyes and she has you hooked!  She's an outgoing girl, who loves to sleep in her foster's bed, snuggled up, or by a window where she can soak up some rays.   Grace is a bit of a goofball!  She'll hide in her foster's laundry hamper and on the dining table, where she knows she'll get those amazing pets!  She's just as eye-catching as her mother, flaunting off her long and beautifully blended coat of gray and buff.  You can't find a better dilute calico with such as sparkling personality!  She's just as affectionate as her mother, and her purring is renowned to melt hearts!   Frankie and Grace's adoption donation is $115 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. Story
Fizzgig and her sister showed up at her caretaker's house in Summer 2023 as new, young mothers with their kittens in tow.  The caretaker took them in and showed them how wonderful life can be in a home environment.  But after a year, the caretaker needed to surrender them to a rescue when she was facing her own medical problems.  Fizzgig was the first to move to LCCR, and she was really frightened by such a change in environment.  She hid for two weeks straight next to the side of a bed, coming out only to eat and use the litter box.  But her foster mom was persistent and kept forcing her love on her.  It has paid off. Now Fizzgig is a relaxed ball of luxurious black fluff who trots around her one-room palace, lounging on windowsills, batting at balls, chasing after string toys, and rolling around on the bed while getting belly and back rubs.  (She is so aggressive with her rolls, her foster parents are surprised she has ONLY fallen off the bed one time!).  Fizzgig enjoyed the presence of younger cats who were in the room with her and who were used to her ways.  She will need a gradual adjustment to new adult cats (most cats do), and she also lives with a dog with no problems.  Her foster parents have started leaving the door open to her room so she can walk out into the hallway and see what the world is like.  She gets excited by this but also is nervous and will eventually come running back in after venturing out 10 feet, usually trilling a little along the way. She needs a little time to warm up to new people but is easy to come around once you start to speak her language.  Usually that means with a treat or a toy, or just hanging in the room and talking gently to her for an hour or two.  Suddenly she'll flip a switch and won't be able to resist coming for some headbutts.  But if she hears a sudden noise, she will run to a corner to be safe. New cats are surprised when she greets them with a hiss (hissing, as her foster mom says, is just part of her way of saying hello), and so are potential adopters who come to meet her.  Her new parents will be patient, soft-spoken, and have a gentle touch, and appreciate how rewarding working with a more cautious cat can be.   Fizzgig's adoption donation is $140 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing (negative), microchip, and spay.  If you would like more information on Fizzgig, please contact Ellyn.  If you would like to fill out an online application, please visit https://lovingcarecatrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/  Please note:  LCCR does not allow our adopted cats and kittens to be declawed.  All adopted kitties are to be kept as indoor-only pets.If you are interested in adopting this kitty, please fill out the online application at https://alovingcarecatrescue.org/adoptionapplication.html June 24, 2025, 3:44 pm

Story
We have two cats that sadly are not our cats but my granddaughter's. Where she lives she cannot have them. We are sadly having to take care of them without any help from her due to her lack of help from her husband. For a while she was coming over here every couple of days to take care of the litter pans. Well since he is so controlling she is not allowed to visit us along with my great grandson. Thus the care of the cats feeding and litter boxes falls on my husband. To be honest we are dog people and hoping you can help us to find a home for the cats. I am enclosing a photo of the cats and hope that will help find them a home. Just know we have been taking care of them as best we can but they need people to pay attention to them. Here is pictures of the two cats. The cat with the thicker fur is Auska and the other one is Ophelia. They have their shot as far as I know. They are sisters and are around 4 years old. If you can help us out my contact info is attached at the end

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Short, dark, and handsomeLord Flufferton is a courtesy post and is not an official Castaway Critters cat. Please do not complete an adoption application but contact Annette in Harrisburg at alr20@comcast.net for more details. Lord Flufferton is one gorgeous guy! And he has a personality to match. Better known as Fluff, he loves to hang out with you, loves to lap sit for short periods, and is very friendly and affectionate as long as you're a human. He's not particularly good with other cats but great for an 'only-one-cat' kind of person. Fluff wandered into a stray cat feeding station in Harrisburg, looking like he'd just stepped out of the groomer's. He was a pet, as evidenced by a microchip, but his owner was never located. He's a long-haired cat but doesn't seem to need much brushing. He's also a perfect litter box user.Fluff is fully vetted. He's neutered and current on his vaccines and received a clean bill of health during a physical exam, including a negative fecal test. He also tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV. An adoption donation of $25 and reference checks are required.
