You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Short, dark, and handsomeLord Flufferton is a courtesy post and is not an official Castaway Critters cat. Please do not complete an adoption application but contact Annette in Harrisburg at alr20@comcast.net for more details. Lord Flufferton is one gorgeous guy! And he has a personality to match. Better known as Fluff, he loves to hang out with you, loves to lap sit (he lies in my arms like a baby), and is very friendly and affectionate as long as you're a human. He's not particularly good with other cats but great for an 'only-one-cat' kind of person. When I first took him in, Fluff was a bit nippy. But he hasn't shown any such aggression in ages. He adjusts well to new situations.Fluff wandered into a stray cat feeding station in Harrisburg, looking like he'd just stepped out of the groomer's. He was a pet, as evidenced by a microchip, but his owner was never located. He's a long-haired cat but doesn't seem to need much brushing. He's also a perfect litter box user.Fluff is fully vetted. He's neutered and current on his vaccines. He received a clean bill of health during a physical exam, including a negative fecal test. And he tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV. An adoption donation of $25 and reference checks are required. Contact Annette in Harrisburg at alr20@comcast.net for more details.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 13, 2025, 12:08 pm

Story
Birthday: March 4, 2022 Are you searching for a loving companion who will greet you with chirps at the door, keep you company throughout the day, and knead herself to sleep on a cozy blanket next to you at night? Look no further than Artemis! This sweet girl showed up on a good Samaritan's porch, her underside completely matted with knots, starving for attention and wanting to come inside. Due to her matted condition, she had to be shaved to release the painful knots in her fur and it was discovered that she was also suffering from a bothersome skin condition referred to as pyoderma. She has since been treated for this and her coat is slowly growing back in beautifully!   Likely due to her past experiences living outdoors, Artemis prefers to be the only cat in the household, thriving on the undivided attention she so richly deserves. Artemis - one of the Greek goddesses - was known for her fierce independence and not needing a partner. She was also known to be quick tempered and merciless but also possessed a nurturing and compassionate side. Our Artemis is just that - independent at times but also craves attention, when it’s play time she will show no mercy to her toys and enjoys to play a little rough (but never bites or scratches), and tolerates being picked up but will voice her displeasure. Occasionally, she does have a habit of ‘sneak attacking’ your ankles when you walk by which she clearly finds amusing and it doesn’t bother us but it may be off putting to some. She’s looking for a family who accepts her quirks, playful personality, and doesn’t mind a sneak attack once in a while. It’s just in her nature.   While she may have outgrown her kitten days, her personality is still vibrant and youthful. Just grab a laser pointer or her favorite wand toy, and watch as she lights up the room with her entertaining antics! She loves to window-watch to keep an eye on the birds, lounge in sun spots, and knead herself to sleep on her favorite cozy blanket. If you have any older kids, she may be willing to get along with them as well!    Her adoption donation is $140 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. Story
Birthday: September 10, 2024 You might be wondering how this sweet little smore doesn't have a home.  Hard to believe, but Camille was actually living on a farm!  She was trapped by a TNR group when they discovered that she was a friendly kitty! She was severely thin, so she was taken to the vet for a checkup. Afterwards, she was brought to LCCR, and now, she's looking for an adoring family who needs some extra fuzz in their household! Camille's foster family carefully monitored her weight with proper nutrition and love. Now she's at a healthy weight and feels lighter than air! She enjoys the attention humans give her, and she doesn't even mind other kitties! She may even play with them! Speaking of which, playtime is this girl's specialty! If you give her a toy, she'll gladly take the kind offering! Just know you might be looking for them scattered around the house after she's through with them! Camille's adoption donation is $175 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. If you would like more information on Camille, please contact Denette at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com. Story
Grace's Birthday: June 28 2014 Frankie's Birthday: June 28, 2015 Would you believe that these two girls are mother and daughter? It's true!  They were rescued by LCCR shortly after their owner passed away. They've always been together, and they want to keep it that way!  That's why they're searching for a quiet home with a family to dote on! They don't consider themselves lap cats, but they are incredibly affectionate despite it!  They'd do anything to sit close to you!  They don't even mind older cats if there are some waiting for them in their new home!  But kitties? They can't keep up with those high-energy nuggets of joy!  These two girls will play with each other, whether it's a bit of string or chewing on ribbon!  They love their cardboard scratching pads and sisal rope!  And these girls always need to look good for you!  So they take their grooming regime very seriously!  And by seriously, we mean they'll go nuts!   Momma Frankie is the orange and gray tortie who's sporting some sweet white sockets and gloves!  She even has a white bib to tie the whole look together!  Her fur is as soft as silk, and her flat face is just too much to resist!  One glance at those golden eyes and she has you hooked!  She's an outgoing girl, who loves to sleep in her foster's bed, snuggled up, or by a window where she can soak up some rays.   Grace is a bit of a goofball!  She'll hide in her foster's laundry hamper and on the dining table, where she knows she'll get those amazing pets!  She's just as eye-catching as her mother, flaunting off her long and beautifully blended coat of gray and buff.  You can't find a better dilute calico with such as sparkling personality!  She's just as affectionate as her mother, and her purring is renowned to melt hearts!   Frankie and Grace's adoption donation is $115 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. Story
Bella Claire was born outside in 2023 and became a mother very young.  So did her twin sister, Licorice!  But their caretaker did the right thing and got them fixed and brought them inside where they learned that being inside was a great thing!  Now Bella Claire is looking for a quiet place to call her own.  Her twin sister Licorice is not with the rescue yet, but we expect her after Bella is adopted (there is only so much room at her current foster home!) Bella looks like a 20-lb cat, but she is only 9 lbs!  It's all that soft, fluffy, black fur!  Bella really wasn't sure of her foster parents at first and hid in a corner behind a bed in the first bedroom they had her in.  Any eye contact with her was resulting in hisses, but her foster parents quickly realized that was all talk. Bella would do an immediate 180 from hissing to purring once her back, head, and chin were petted.  Soon they moved her to another bedroom where there was nowhere to hide and found that is the secret to successfully acclimating Bella to a new location.  Her adoptive owners will have to keep her in one room with no place to hide and interact with her regularly for maybe two weeks so that Bella can feel comfortable with them.  A bedroom (keep those closet doors closed and drop that boxspring to the ground) or office would be perfect, since she can get used to her new owners while they are just going about their business (or sleeping).  Now Bella likes to lay on the window sill or the one table in the bedroom, but she will give out a soft chirp when you call her name, and she will come floofing her way over to you.  She loves to wind in and around your feet, so probably an elderly person would not be a good idea.  She has thought a couple times about coming up on the bed with her foster parents, but usually the dog is there, and she's just content to stay away from the dog.  She will roll around next to you while you pet her belly.  She's really a wonderful, soft cat with a gentle demeanor who would like a quiet home. Bella Claire's adoption donation is $140 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing (negative), microchip, and spay.  If you would like more information on Bella Claire (or even her sister Licorice), please contact Ellyn at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com. Story
Marilyn and Monroe are the sweetest kittens that were dumped on a farm close by. Marilyn is very reserved and laid back and Monroe is a ball of energy that loves to keep Marilyn on her toes. These two do everything together and must be adopted as sisters, from eating, to using the litter box, to playing, to snuggling up for nap time, they are always together. Marilyn has these gorgeous beauty marks on her face that makes her very much look like Marilyn Monroe. They are both per machines and love attention. Both are fixed vaccinated and tested negative for FIV felv and heartworm.
