Meet Jasmine! At just 2 years old, Jasmine is a stunning long-haired grey beauty with a personality as fabulous as her fluffy coat. She’s the perfect blend of sweet and sassy — she absolutely enjoys gentle pets and attention, but she’s also confident enough to let you know when she’s had her fill. A queen who knows her boundaries! Jasmine has been with us for a while as she recovered from a reaction to a rabies vaccine. The good news? She’s doing very well now but will need regular yearly checkups to keep her feeling her best. Shelter life can be stressful, and Jasmine is no exception. To help her stay comfortable during her stay, she’s currently on behavioral medication. In a calm, loving home, she may continue to blossom as she settles in. She’s looking for a quiet household without dogs or children under 10, and she’ll need a patient family who will give her the time and space to adjust at her own pace. A family friend took in Yoda's mom 10 years ago as a stray, and she quickly had six kittens. I took in two of those, Yoda and her sister, Moshannon. So I don't know much about her heritage, being the daughter of a stray cat from Central PA, but she's been kind to me ever since. I'll be getting married and starting a family soon, though, and I won't be able to provide the attention she deserves. She can be rather shy towards anyone she's unfamiliar with - right now, for example, she's inseparable from me when I'm home alone, but if I have company, she's nowhere to be found. She hasn't had any serious health issues other than the vet finding a slight heart murmur during her last checkup. Also, she's fluffy and tends to mat a little, so going to the groomer every once in a while helps. She'd be a great addition to any family, very loving. She's lived her whole life with her sister (who I'm also trying to adopt), but I feel like she could adapt well to a new home.

Beautiful Raquel needs a patient, understanding, gentle adopter. She's never experinced those things from a human before and she doesn't quite understand them yet. Raquel originally came from an overcrowded home in Erie County where she was neglected and ignored by the humans. She and a few of her housemates made their way to a shelter here in Westmoreland County where she stayed for about 6 months while volunteers worked hard to gain her trust. Sadly, that shelter had to close their doors so Raquel came to us at Pet Freinds in the hopes that a home environment would help her come out of her shell. Progress has been slow and she is still very fearful and can come off as a mean girl. While Raquel is loved and safe in her foster home, we would love to see her move into a permanent situation so she won't ever need to move around again. It is possible she would be happier and better suited for barn-cat life away from people and those homes would be considered. Ultimately, we'd love to see her go into a quiet home with a loving, patient family. She may never be a lap cat or even be terribly social but she is a gorgeous girl who deserves a chance at a soft place to land.
