Story
🐾💜🐾 SPECIAL NEEDS CAT 🐾💜🐾Grady is one amazing cat who has managed to pluck at all of our heartstrings at MAARC. He came to us as a severely underweight stray with unkempt fur and what appeared to be cataracts on both eyes. Then we learned he was also FELV+ and after he was neutered he (*ehem*) continued to seek the affections of a stuffed toy which earned him the surname Von Humperdinck. We didn't know what to make of him, but one thing was for certain; we would not give up on him and he's become a shelter favorite. He can't see well and doesn't move very fast, but he has the sweetest disposition and doesn't even make a fuss when it's medication time. If you are one of those amazingly kindhearted people who would like to adopt a special needs cat, please contact Ellery at (865) 851-5235 or apply online at maarcadopt.org/adopt

Story
**FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE HOME NEEDED FOR SPECIAL NEEDS KITTY**Casio here, with another bio update cuz my situation has changed yet again. If you recall, I came into the shelter as a feral (hence my way cool ear tip), and after a few months I started to enjoy the pets and coos the folks here have been giving me (not to mention the yummy noms). Then, a couple times they noticed that my kennel looked like the aftermath of a frat party, but it wasn't until one of the volunteers found me in the midst of a seizure that they understood why. Turns out, I'm epileptic and now that I'm on meds to keep them at bay I'm feeling (and acting) much better. The thing is, I need them every 10-12 hours so that's why I'm hoping to find a foster or adoptive home sooner rather than later so I can be monitored more closely. So if you've got some room in your home and your heart for a purrty ""special needs"" gal, contact us at (865) 599-7304 to set up a meet and greet. You can also make a donation to my ongoing medical care on our website www.maarcadopt.org/donate. Thanks for listening!

Story
**FUREVER HOME URGENTLY NEEDED FOR SPECIAL NEEDS SENIOR**London came under our care last fall, a victim of animal cruelty, negligence, and abandonment. All 4 of her paws had been inhumanely declawed, leaving her defenseless outside as a 12 year old stray. Understandably, this leads to her being both food-motivated and aggressive, makings her temperament difficult to assess. She was also diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and hyperthyroidism and is on daily transdermal medication for the latter. London has her moments where she allows us to pet and groom her, but clearly she was a very unhappy cat at the shelter. Fortunately, one of our volunteers stepped up to foster her, but we believe she is best suited for a home with no young children or pets with someone who can be patient with her. Please contact us at (854) 273-3751 or fill out an application at www.maarcadopt.org/foster if you are willing to give this senior girl a chance, or call/text Cheryl at (865) 755-5392. You can also contribute to her perpetual medical costs at www.maarcadopt.org/donate.
