Story
Gorgeous, very sweet floofy girl, Tasha is part of a large colony of kittens recently rescued. She's a delightful, slightly reserved 3-month old kitten, lots of purrs, great with other cats. She and her orange female cousins/sisters are vetted and available to meet at Lake Anna.  Please email megshrum@gmail.com with questions.  The Adoption Process If you are ready to meet this feline please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10664/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about their likes, dislikes, and little quirks.   The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the feline home as your furry forever friend, their adoption fee is $125. ##2089471##

Story
Meet Zelda! Zelda is a beautiful long haired torti. Zelda originally came to us as a kitten 6 years ago from a high kill shelter in NC. She was adopted but experienced some anxiety with the feline siblings in her home and was returned to us a few days ago..(By the way, if you adopted Harry 6 years ago, Zelda is his sibling.)We are just getting to know Zelda again. She is very confused right now as to why she has lost her home; however, we do know she is very sweet and loves pets. We will post more as we get to know her better.Zelda will need a few weeks to decompress, relax, and unwind and will be available around May 15th. Her perfect home would be a quiet, low energy home as an only cat or with another cat friend. Low stress, of course. Zelda is spayed, up to date on her rabies and FVRCP vaccines, tested negative on her combo test, and os microchipped for life. Let us know if you would like to maeet this beautiful girl. Story
Meet Peak (male), Canyon (male), Cliff (male), and Valley (female), just  7 weeks old (as of 7.3.24.) These siblings were found inside a diningroom wall in Rixeyville. The Good Samaritan posted on Facebook pleading for help and one of our volunteers immediately came to their rescue.Like all kittens, these kittens are playful and loving. Peak is a handsome long-haired black kitten with highlights of cream around his eyes. He is gorgeous. He is very quiet, but loving. Cliff and Canyon are long-haired buff kittens with Cliff being the more sociable and loved chasing your feet! Canyon is still a bit shy. Valley is a beautiful tabby with colors of brown, cream, white, and black. She is the runt of the litter and spoiled. LOL The perfect home for these babies would be a quiet, low activity home with cat-friendly kids over the age of 7 years old. Preference goes to those wanting to adopt 2 kittens. All kittens are/will be dewormed, spayed/neutered, received FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, combo tested, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. No need to pay to reregister every year. It's already done. Interested? Let us know. GoodMews22@aol.com 540.717.4420July 23, 2024, 1:37 am

Story
Say cheese! Meet Mozzi (male, Mozzarella), Brie (female), Monterey (male), Jack (male), and Colby (male). These sweet babies were born on May 8th, just a day after their mom, Aussie (Asiago) came into our care. Mom came to us from another rescue who was trapping. When the other rescue realized she was too far along to spay, they asked if we could take her into care - of course! - and not even 24 hours later - kittens!Mozzi (Mozzarella) is the runt and the most popular of the litter. He can be a diva at times and loves attention and loves being held. When it's time for dinner he will be the loudest - screaming and squealing and climbing the cage and eveyone follows along as though they are at a concert waiting to meet a famous rockstar! Mozzi has medium to long fur and is a mama's boy. He will need to be adopted with a littermate.Brie is the only girl in the litter and is simply gorgeous! She has the colors of a calico on her head, but her body is a unique smoked black/gray, meaning the fur lightens from the body/base to the end. It almost looks peppered. Brie is also a quiet kitten and would probably best be paired with Mozzi, but doesn't have to be. She enjoys playing with her brothers - climbing, running, and wrestling, but when the drama of a canned food dinner hits...she is OUT. She will climb up in the climber and wait til the drama dies down and the food is served, and then will join her family for dinner. Drama is not her thing.Monterey and Jack are pretty much twins. They are orange tabby with a small white stripe on their noses, white chests and paws and lightly striped tails. They enjoy running, wrestling, playing with a scrunchy ball, and are a bit more outgoing than their siblings. When something is going on, they are the first to investigate.Colby is a handsome guy, like his siblings. He is orange with less white than the others. Colby is also more outgoing, but not quite as much as his brothers, Monterey and Jack. Colby may take a step forawrd, but then hangs in the background until he evaluates the situation and decides if he wants to get involved.Colby like to wrestle and play, climb on his climber, and play with toys. This litter loves to play and cuddle, but are a bit on the shy and quiet side, so would need a quiet, low activity home either with adults or cat-friendly kids over the age of 8 years old. Preference given to those who adopt 2 or more. There is a $55 discount when you adopt 2.All are/will be dewormed, will be spayed/neutered, have recived 2 FVRCP vaccines and will get a rabies vaccine at 4 months, will be combo tested, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. You won't be paying to register every year - it's done for you. Is life beginning to "grate" on you? Need something cheesy? Let us know, because they are the cheesiest!
