Story
Introducing Wren! Wren originally came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services with her 4 newborn kittens. Wren was an excellent mom to her babies and now that they are weaned, she is ready for a home of her own! Wren is a very sweet, petite girl and she would love to find a home with adult adopters or families with cat-savvy children over the six at this time. We are still getting to know Wren and do not know how she does with other cats or dogs but may do well with them after proper introductions. Wren is bonded to her daughter, Sparrow, and we are looking for them to be adopted together. Wren is currently at Pet Food express at the Crossroads in Carmel. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to complete one today!

Story
Meet Lilly the kitten! This pastel calico came into the Shelter very scared and is looking for a cat savvy adopter to be her guardian. She greets people with a hiss and moves away but with time and patience, warms up. A home with a resident friendly cat may be a great fit to show her the world is not so scary. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Meet the spicy pepper kittens! These kittens came in high on the Scoville scale but after spending time in a foster home are more of a mild kitten spice. They spent time in a foster home learning the world is not so scary and now are ready to bring the heat to their adoptive home. Fluffy and full of spunk – these kittens are sure to keep you laughing. A home with a cat-savvy resident cat may be a fit with a slow introduction and management. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week!
