We dont know much about Minnie Moos past, but its clear shes been through some tough times. When she first came to us, she was very timid and unsure of people. With time, patience, and love, shes started to blossom. Minnie Moo now enjoys being pettedon her terms. Shell let you know when shes had enough with a gentle nibble. Shell need a patient home that understands her boundaries and lets her come around at her own pace. This petite, beautiful black cat has lived with children and currently lives with other cats, both adults and kittens. She gets along well with everyone and loves to play! JazzyListen, I understand if you don`t want to read my latest interview since the IL has now written four of them. But I think you`ll want to hear the good news. You may recall that I have a history of being a scaredy cat and spent much time hiding. I had been adopted as a kitten, but the noise and chaos caused by moving to this place with two young kids and two dogs were just too stressful for me to cope with. Therefore, I was surrendered to the HSHC on October 14, 2024. I was alarmed by the influx of new people, the noise, and the shelter`s expectations. I used the litterbox just fine but tended to hide in my cubby rather than come out and socialize. So, on December 13, I was sent to live with a foster mom to give me a chance to relax and be in a home environment. Initially, I was extremely shy and easily intimidated. However, my foster mom (FM) has reported that I have made so much progress. My FM calls me the `sweetest little cat`. I am very affectionate and will come to you when you call, especially if you are holding my brush. I like to be near you! I use my litterbox like a champ. I love being brushed, making biscuits on FM, and even sleeping on FM`s chest. I still prefer being the one to make the first move, as I don`t enjoy being picked up. I love receiving affection when I ask for it. I have learned to appreciate the automatic electric feeder, and it gives me confidence that I won`t miss a meal. I tend to overeat, so please don`t allow me to snack all day. Other cats hold no interest for me. If I can hear or smell them near the door, I will hide! My favorite pastimes include watching those YouTube videos of birds and squirrels, as well as sitting by the window. I am the perfect cat for someone who is happy having only one cat. I am now 3 years, 2 months old, and still a very pretty white and brown DMH tabby. My idea of the perfect home is one without children under 12, with no other pets, and a relatively quiet atmosphere. I lived alone with my lady owner all my life. For 9 years, it was just the two of us. Then suddenly, she passed away. For 10 months, I was kept in our home all by myself. A caregiver stopped by three times a week to feed me and clean the litter box. That is nearly a year alone in a house—no one to pet me, cuddle with me, or talk to me. This deprivation caused my social skills to nearly disappear. So, when I was surrendered to the HSHC on October 5, I was terrified of all the strange people, new spaces, and constant hubbub. In early November, I moved into a foster home so I could slowly rebuild my trust and interest in humans. At first, I was very unhappy. I did not want to interact with my foster mom (FM). But gradually, I began to emerge from my hiding spots and seek attention and pets. FM believes her friendly, confident resident cat was the key to my success. Initially, I was not sure what to make of this 1.5-year-old kitty. But it was not long before she and I became besties. We chased each other and explored the house together. Because I have perfect litter box skills, I was allowed to roam the whole house. I have even learned how to deal with the resident dog. FM says I would benefit from having another cat in my forever home. Every day, I will meow and search for my kitty pal so we can play. Meet Truffles A Little Fighter with a Big HeartTruffles came to the shelter after being found outside, unable to use her back legs. Once in ARPOs care, X-rays revealed a fractured pelvis and possible spinal involvementlikely caused by trauma, such as a car accident or animal attack. She currently lacks tail tone and bladder control, our vet team was hopeful that she may regain some of those functions, but unfortunately that was not the case.In her foster home, shes being gently expressed three times a day - something that is super easy to do!But heres the real story: Truffles is pure love. Despite everything shes been through, shes a total cuddle bug who melts into your lap and looks at you like shes known you forever. I was being given away on facebook. I had been a stray in a neighborhood. I went into the house but she didn't want to keep me. I was part of a group that when this rescue took two kittens, they got me too. I was really afraid at first, but now I realize how wonderful people are. I have a fantastic purr. I just needed some time to get to know people and feel comfortable. I do love catnip toys and things that rattle. I would also really enjoy a fishing pole toy. I was found as a stray in an area where they have lots and lots of cats. I was so thankful that someone rescued me before the cold weather. I am a handsome guy. I love to sit on laps or sit beside my person. I haven't had a lot of opportunity lately to sit beside someone. I cannot wait to be able to watch wildlife outside from a warm perch in my forever home.
