Story
We dont know much about Minnie Moos past, but its clear shes been through some tough times. When she first came to us, she was very timid and unsure of people. With time, patience, and love, shes started to blossom. Minnie Moo now enjoys being pettedon her terms. Shell let you know when shes had enough with a gentle nibble. Shell need a patient home that understands her boundaries and lets her come around at her own pace. This petite, beautiful black cat has lived with children and currently lives with other cats, both adults and kittens. She gets along well with everyone and loves to play! At wet food time, she turns into quite the chatterbox and will make sure you know youre not serving fast enough. Minnie especially enjoys bedtime, often snuggling up to her foster sister, and she loves curling up for a nap next to her foster mom after work. Shes truly a sweetheart who just needs someone willing to give her time, patience, and love. Minnie Moo is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Her estimated birthday is 4/4/24. Story
Miss BibsThe interviewer lady (IL) told me I ought to write a book about my life and its ups and downs. If I could type, I think I would. I’ll just tell you about it. I lived alone with my lady owner all my life. For 9 years, it was just the two of us. Then suddenly, she passed away. For 10 months, I was kept in our home all by myself. A caregiver stopped by three times a week to feed me and clean the litter box. That is nearly a year alone in a house—no one to pet me, cuddle with me, or talk to me. This deprivation caused my social skills to nearly disappear. So, when I was surrendered to the HSHC on October 5, I was terrified of all the strange people, new spaces, and constant hubbub. In early November, I moved into a foster home so I could slowly rebuild my trust and interest in humans. At first, I was very unhappy. I did not want to interact with my foster mom (FM). But gradually, I began to emerge from my hiding spots and seek attention and pets. FM believes her friendly, confident resident cat was the key to my success. Initially, I was not sure what to make of this 1.5-year-old kitty. But it was not long before she and I became besties. We chased each other and explored the house together. Because I have perfect litter box skills, I was allowed to roam the whole house. I have even learned how to deal with the resident dog. FM says I would benefit from having another cat in my forever home, and I promise to bring fun and friendship to your resident pets. Every day, I will meow and search for my kitty pal so we can play. If you promise to never leave me alone in the house for 10 months, I would like to go home with you. I’ll reward you with loyalty, companionship, and plenty of purrs. 12-10-25--An important update from my FM! Since starting anxiety medication recently, I’ve made enormous strides! Just a week ago, my FM’s sister came to the house while the two of them were making quite a racket cleaning. Unlike my previous self, I came out of hiding, went up to the sister (with my tail in a happy hook), and solicited pets from her. I have begun playing with toys consistently and requesting attention. I remain crazy about the resident cat! Now, I am a very curious, brave girl, newly interested in the world around me! 1-12-26

Story
PriaYou may have heard that Tortoiseshell cats are opinionated and vain. This is just not true. Yes, I am a beautiful 8-year-old lady cat with a longhaired blend of orange and black, and jade-colored eyes. But I am not conceited; I`m just honest. I was a stray 1-year-old when I was brought to the HSHC in 2018. I was soon adopted and lived with my owner for seven years before they moved and brought me back to the shelter on May 17. In this home, I was best friends with their Corgi. We played, chased each other, and relaxed together. I thought I was a dog! I was also pals with the older teenagers in the home. Here are my favorite things — playing with all kinds of balls, tennis, fabric, jingly, or bouncy. Also, I genuinely enjoy getting a massage with an electric massager. I love all flavors of Temptations cat treats. Catnip is always entertaining, but it does make me hyper! I love sitting in your lap and won`t move unless you make me leave. I gave the interviewer lady (IL) headbutts when she began rubbing my head and chin. I couldn`t help but purr from the pleasure. I even gave her nose kisses. But when she began petting me on my back, soon found out I hate to be petted past my shoulders. It freaks me out! I let her know I was ticked off at her by giving her a swat and consistently ignoring her. She was properly apologetic. The Feline Care Specialists feel it will take me quite a while to get accustomed to a new owner and home, as I do not enjoy change. Having a small space with everything I need will provide me with a safe place to slowly acclimate to your household. By the way, I have only lived with one cat, and I am not a cat fan. I look forward to hearing from those folks who love gorgeous Torties! 1-7-26

Story
Meet Truffles A Little Fighter with a Big HeartTruffles came to the shelter after being found outside, unable to use her back legs. Once in ARPOs care, X-rays revealed a fractured pelvis and possible spinal involvementlikely caused by trauma, such as a car accident or animal attack. She currently lacks tail tone and bladder control, our vet team was hopeful that she may regain some of those functions, but unfortunately that was not the case.In her foster home, shes being gently expressed three times a day - something that is super easy to do!But heres the real story: Truffles is pure love. Despite everything shes been through, shes a total cuddle bug who melts into your lap and looks at you like shes known you forever. Shes calm, trusting, and unbelievably sweetand yes, she is also ridiculously cute. Her estimated birthday is May 19th, and we are eager to follow her healing journey. Truffles is a shining example of resilience, and we know her perfect forever home is out there! Story
I was being given away on facebook. I had been a stray in a neighborhood. I went into the house but she didn't want to keep me. I was part of a group that when this rescue took two kittens, they got me too. I was really afraid at first, but now I realize how wonderful people are. I have a fantastic purr. I just needed some time to get to know people and feel comfortable. I do love catnip toys and things that rattle. I would also really enjoy a fishing pole toy. Story
His name is Scammer he came from a shelter as a kitten. He is 3 going on 4 years old in May. His birthday is May 16th. He is very sweet an cuddly and loves to sunbathe. He does have a few nicknames he also replies too which are Hank, Scamma Lamma, Paapaa, and Sylvester. He loves small stuffed tacos that he can play with, those are his favorites. Scammer is very good with children and other cats. He doesn’t mind dogs but he will keep his distance for the most part. He does not play with his claws at all and is very quiet for the most part. He is neutered and microchipped but does not have his updated shots. He has a medical issue that is urinary blockages that can happen to him frequently but be maintained with the right cost and care. Other then that he is a very healthy cat! He really needs someone who can love on him endlessly and maintain his overall health and stress levels! I only did a $5 adoption fee to make sure he’s going to nice folks! :)))

Story
Soulaan was a stray cat my partner and I found sitting by our garage before heading to vacation. She was so sweet and rubbed her head on our legs. We offered her kibbles but had to go on our way. 4 days later arriving home at 2am, we saw a shadowy figure by our front door and It was her! Soulaan's adjustment period was more difficult than we had imagined. We have two other girl cats and even with slowly introducing them Soulaan would hiss, swat, and run away. We could tell that being around other cats gave her anxiety as she would hide and be hyper-vigilant. We grew to love her and the shelters in our area were full, so we decided to keep Souly upstairs by herself. Her behavior changed for the better. Soulaan is very loving, cuddly, calm, and active. She loves running, climbing and playing with toys. We're sad to rehome her but the daily duties of having them separated became overwhelming. Soulaan would thrive in a home where she is the only cat and with plenty of room to play!
