Story
Meet Lemur, an adult feline with a personality as unique as her name. She's a shy soul, preferring quiet corners and soft whispers to boisterous activity. Her tail, however, is her most distinctive feature, a fluffy masterpiece that adds to her charm. Lemur's a bit of a wallflower, but once she warms up to you, she'll be your most loyal companion, she is a cat's cat, so would do well with another cat in the home. Her gentle purrs will soothe you after a long day, and her soft presence will be a comforting constant in your life. Adopt Lemur, and let her bring a touch of serene beauty to your home. Adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, HCPCh, FeLv), booster shots of HCPCh, and FeLv, microchip, FIV/FeLv testing (negative on both), and deworming.

Story
PetalsMy first owner bought me from a breeder, and I lived with her until I was nearly four years old. She surrendered me to HSHC due to allergies. A few days later, I was adopted. Sadly, my second owner had to surrender me due to her failing health. So now I am living at the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe (SKCC), and though I hate to admit it, I am thoroughly enjoying my time there. I found the most fabulous little camping tent that fits me like a glove. It is the perfect place for me to nap undisturbed and to keep an eye on the action. Today, the interviewer lady from HSHC stopped by to get to know the latest batch of kitties. Although I stayed put for a while as she talked to me, I soon was out of the tent and rubbing against her legs, hoping for even more attention. I let her scratch my chin and rub my ears, and I even flopped down so she could rub my chest. I am a lovely combination of buff, grey, and white with jade-green eyes. I have lived happily with kids, cats, and dogs in my previous homes. I am now 7-years-, 9-months old, and eager to start fresh with a new person(s). 5-13-24

Story
TurkeyFor the life of me, I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do! My kittens and I were brought to the HSHC as strays on Halloween. This event seemed like a trick and not a treat to me. I had been doing my best to care for my four daughters and did not think I needed help. But in retrospect, I guess it was for the best--my kids have all been adopted. I, however, remain in my foster home, trying to improve my confidence and comfort level. In early December, I hid in my carrier and hissed when my Foster Mom (FM) tried to pet me. Later, I would hide under the bed but allow her to touch and play with me with a "back scratcher." But if she looked at me or moved her hand close to me, I'd hiss! Fast forward to late January. I still spend most of my time under the bed, but I've been getting braver. I love being petted with the back scratcher and even made biscuits on FM's leg! But don't try to touch me! I'm still terrified. My FM loves me and wants me to find my forever home. I need a patient human with a quiet lifestyle who can give me all the time I need to open up and relax. I am a small, 3-years-old DMH tabby. It may be a challenge, but I'm worth it! 2-7-24

Story
Mystic"All right, Mr. DeMille. I'm ready for my close-up." Sunset Boulevard is my favorite movie, and I can relate to this quote. If you could have seen me when I arrived as a stray cat in early March, you would have thought I was on death's door. I was scrawny, missing fur, covered in open sores, extremely itchy, and just miserable. The HSHC medical team went to work to find out what was wrong with me. They discovered that I had severe allergies, which were causing all my discomfort. With the right medicine, diet, and TLC, I am a new girl! I am only 5-years-old with an adorable personality, affectionate nature, and loads of charm. Ask the interviewer lady (IL); she will tell you that my transformation is like night and day. Today, when she visited, I was right up in her face with nose kisses, purring, flopping on my side for more pets, and cuddling up as close as possible to her chest. I am a petite little thing, with the return of my luxurious, long black coat--very soft! My coat may appear to have some cinnamon brown in it, but it might be sun-bleached from living outdoors. I have been spayed and use my litterbox faithfully. Although I was homeless when I arrived, I recall what it means to be someone's pet and look forward to it again. AND I am absolutely ready for my close-up! 5-8-24
