She came to BENCHS when her owner could no longer care for her, and she has handled the change with sweetness and resilience. Lucy Lou has lived with another cat for most, if not all, of her life, and she continues to show excellent social skills with feline companions. She currently has several unrelated cat roommates and tolerates them very well, making her a great match for a home with an existing cat. She would also be perfectly happy as a very social and loving single cat who gets plenty of human attention. Affectionate and a bit needy in the best way, Lucy Lou enjoys being close to her people. She tolerates being picked up, seeks out attention, and loves to give gentle kisses on the nose. She thrives on connection and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a cat who truly wants to be involved in daily life. Meet Toby! Toby is a lovely 2 1/2 year old boy who is a love despite all that he has been through. He was an indoor/outdoor cat and has been found to have an auto immune disease that seems to flare seasonally due to allergies. He is now on authority skin and coat food and is no longer on Prednisolone. It is likely that he flared while getting into something while outside. Keeping him inside and loved will be the key. Finneas and his siblings came to us as an unwanted litter, so we fixed their mother and took the kids in to find them homes. Finneas and the gang are full of fun and mischief and will bring happiness and laughter to whatever home they join. They would all be happy if they could go home in pairs. Two are better than one, after all! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only.
