While he may be a little shy when meeting new people, it doesn’t take long for him to warm up with some patience and love. Once he feels comfortable, his playful, curious side comes out, and he’s full of that classic kitten energy. Jett is highly food-motivated and loves snack time just as much as playtime! He would thrive in a loving home, whether as a solo companion or alongside other cats. With encouragement and affection, Jett will continue to build his confidence and grow into a loyal, playful, and loving member of the family. December 22, 2025, 8:55 pm

Story
Meet Toby! Toby is a lovely 2 1/2 year old boy who is a love despite all that he has been through. He was an indoor/outdoor cat and has been found to have an auto immune disease that seems to flare seasonally due to allergies. He is now on authority skin and coat food and is no longer on Prednisolone. It is likely that he flared while getting into something while outside. Keeping him inside and loved will be the key. Toby's video shows you how far he has come and what a wonderful addition to any family he would be. If you are the family for Toby please reach out :-)

Story
Meet Floppy! Female senior cat in need of a loving home. Floppy is a talkative 13 years old. After her vet visit on 12/2/25, she is up to date with shots and the vet confirmed she is in really great condition for a 13 year old and a good weight. She is spayed but not declawed. A little bit about this beauty....She loves attention but can be shy initially. She loves scratches and pats. Floppy has not been around children but she has never bitten me or anyone. The only time she has been feisty is when being play attacked by another cat. She is definitely not a fan of dogs though. Looking for an amazing person to give her all the love and affection she deserves. Location: Saint Peter area or Rochester area and willing to go outside those areas.

Story
Abigail and her siblings were found on a local rural property - presumed to be dumped there. They came to us to get vetted and hopefully find new homes. Abigail is a sweet girl that likes attention and playing with her siblings. She would love to go to a home with other felines and possibly take one of her siblings along. Abigail would be a great cat for any family and would love to find a new Home for the Holidays. All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
Skip was a kitten and adopted out from the Humane Society back in December 2020. He was returned to us in August 2025 because he wasn't getting along with his brother. Skip is in the Cat Room at the shelter and is fine in there, but he really wouldn't mind at all if he found a new home where he could be the only cat. He loves people and attention and he likes to talk. He is a sweet boy and really would like to get out of the shelter and have a place of his own with his own human to love. Would you give Skip a new Home for the Holidays and beyond? All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped.
