Story
UPDATE: Peepers does not have to wear diapers when he is on a raw diet.  His stools are firm, and no mess is made.  Peepers has been leaving his backend alone now.  He certainly can wear diapers if preferred as he occasionally plays hard enough to squeeze out a small, dry, odorless turd.  Otherwise Peepers is good at heading to the litterbox and depositing them there.  He just doesn't have a sphincter to prevent play from squeezing an occasional turd out.  We consider his diapers an easy option for the dear boy.   Peepers is an amazing young man, one year old, who arrived in our care as a tiny kitten with anal atresia due to trauma (cockleburs).  Unfortunately, the first surgeon didn't recognize his condition and expanded his fistula.  The next surgical team combined the original anus and the fistula by cutting through the anal sphincter.  That means that Peepers doesn't have a functional anal sphincter.  But given our main goal was to give him a functional "poop chute" we are happy with the outcome.  Peepers does take a twice daily medication.  He runs and plays and loves to chase and rumble with other felines.  He's comfortable with our resident dog.  Peepers does tend to bond to one person, but he did fabulously well with all his vet visits and staff fell in love with him.  Peepers has been neutered and vaccinated against rabies and distemper.  He tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia.  Peepers is available for adoption for $50 (our rescue survives on donations).  Peepers is NOT declawed.   Please note that Peepers is located in New Prague, MN. 1700+ adoptions and counting. . .Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 12, 2024, 2:57 pm

Story
Precious wee polydactyl Woodby was a transfer from another rescue after a recommendation was made by a vet to euthanize.  Woodby's offense?  An anal stricture.  Woodby arrived in our care 2/20/24, and we got the dear boy into our vet as well as the surgeon who had just successfully addressed another feline's anal stricture.  The recommendation?  Wait and see.  Woodby's anus was functional and patent, and the surgeon knew that he stood a chance of having the stricture expand with him as he grew.  Thankfully, that is exactly what happened.  Wee Woodby's stricture expanded from 3mm to over 10mm.  And he is still growing.  All this dear boy needs is a little bit of over-the-counter Miralax.  His biggest issue became that his stool would stick to the fur around his bum.  Now Woodby is eating a raw diet (free range chicken with supplements), and that is no longer an issue.  As a precaution, Woodby requires a home that would not be bothered by occasional stools dropping outside of the litterbox.  Woodby has been neutered and vaccinated against rabies and distemper.  He's negative for FIV and feline leukemia.  Woodby does fabulously well with other felines (and needs a feline buddy wherever he goes).  He also does just fine with the resident canine.  Woodby is available for adoption for $60.   Please note that Woodby is located in New Prague, MN.   1700+ adoptions and counting. . .Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 12, 2024, 2:57 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Sam approached our family on the street asking for help as a starving, sickly kitten. After receiving the medical care he needed for some minor infections, he quickly blossomed into a sweet and social cat. He absolutely loves attention and makes fast friends with his feline companions; he has also been caught snuggling with dogs! Multiple times a day, Sam will bring us some of his favorite toys as trophies, and we reward him with a game of fetch or simply some love and affection. Sam will need frequent brushing, given how fluffy his coat is. He is also quite vocal and his purr is very loud. The only thing bigger than his heart is his huge poofy tail! Sam must be adopted with his brother Frodo, they are a bonded pair that love each other so much!

Story
Adoptable in Texas only. Adoption fee is $150.00 Personality: Skor is an adorable feline companion who may initially be shy and reserved but has a heart full of love to give. He is not the most confident cat but thrives in the company of outgoing and friendly feline friends. While Skor may not be a cuddler, he enjoys gentle pets and affection from his human companions. Ideal Home: Skor would thrive in a calm and patient home environment with experienced cat owners who understand his shy nature and are willing to give him the time and space he needs to adjust. A home with at least one outgoing and friendly cat buddy would be ideal for Skor, as he enjoys the company of other felines. It's important for his new home to provide plenty of hiding spots and vertical space for him to feel safe and secure. Special Considerations: Skor may take some time to warm up to new surroundings and people, so patience and understanding are key. He may benefit from gradual introductions to new people and environments to help build his confidence over time. Additionally, his new family should be mindful of his preference for gentle pets rather than cuddling and respect his boundaries. Overall, Skor is a sweet and lovable cat who is sure to bring joy and companionship to the right home. If you're looking for a furry friend to share your life with, consider welcoming Skor into your heart and home! This cat is currently being fostered in San Antonio, TX.
