Story
Meet Mulligan ⛳🐾 Mulligan is a stunning medium-haired female with a story as memorable as her name. She was found as a stray lingering around a local golf course. Despite efforts to locate an owner, she was never claimed. In golf, a mulligan is a second chance or a do-over. And that’s exactly what this special girl has been given. She has a fresh start and a brighter future. One look at Mulligan and you’ll notice her charm right away. Her white paws look like she’s dressed in her finest stilettos and her extra-long whiskers are so impressive they might just stretch across our zip code. She carries herself with elegance and quiet grace. After she was safely secured, it was discovered that Mulligan needed FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery likely due to a severe old injury. The “ball” of her hip joint had become detached and surgery was needed to correct the positioning of her femur and relieve her pain. Thanks to veterinary care followed by physical therapy to rebuild strength and range of motion, Mulligan has made wonderful progress. She then spent several weeks decompressing in a loving foster home, where her personality truly began to shine. Her foster learned that Mulligan enjoys: * Playing with toy mice, paper balls and the laser * Watching birds and deer through the window * Being brushed (Regular brushing will be important to keep her beautiful coat tangle-free and is a great way to bond with her) * Listening to holiday and classical music 🎶 Mulligan is a snuggler once she trusts you, but she can be a bit skeptical of loud noises and being picked up. She may need patience around children and men, as she has shown that she tends to hide from them. A calm, understanding home that lets her build confidence at her own pace would be ideal. We are incredibly grateful to our supporters whose donations made it possible for Mulligan to receive the medical care she needed to enjoy a wonderful quality of life. Now, she’s ready for the final piece of her journey; a forever home. We would love nothing more than to see Mulligan settled into her own loving family for the holidays, so she can kick off the New Year with comfort, security and a second chance well earned. Mulligan is available by consultant to discuss her FHO surgery. Please email arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Story
Meet Fluff – a Gentle, Quiet Soul Fluff is a timid, shy girl who often watches from the sidelines while her siblings play. She may take some time to feel safe, but once she trusts you and settles into your arms, she becomes an incredibly loyal cuddle companion who will stay with you for hours. Fluff is looking for a calm, patient home where she can grow in confidence at her own pace. If you value quiet affection and the special bond that forms with a gentle, sensitive cat, Fluff could be the perfect addition to your family. Fluff is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, routinely treated for fleas and worms, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV and heartworm. Her estimated DOB is 8/22/2025. NOTE: Kittens under 4 months cannot be adopted as a single kitten unless there is already another cat in the home. All cats/kittens come with 30 days of free post-adoption support to Petcademy's team of trainers and behaviorists, as well as access to online materials to help settle your new furbaby into your home. Story
Bob is an adorable little guy dressed in sleek black with a tiny white “bow tie.” He had a rough start in life, having been separated from his mom at around 7 weeks old, but once he was rescued and brought indoors, he truly blossomed. Bob loves every toy he’s given and will sometimes try to play with two at once. He’s also become a wonderful snuggler. Once he knows you, Bob may even try to sit on your shoulder. While he can be a bit timid around new people, he warms up quickly and shows off his happy, playful personality. Sweet, funny, talkative, and full of charm, Bob could be the perfect kitten for you. Bob is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, routinely treated for fleas and worms, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV and heartworm. His estimated DOB is 8/16/2025. All cats/kittens come with 30 days of free post-adoption support to Petcademy's team of trainers and behaviorists, as well as access to online materials to help settle your new furbaby into your home. Story
I came from a house where I was living with 53 other cats! Most of us were sick and flea infested. Our owner voluntarily surrendered us to do what was best. Now that I'm back up to health, I'm ready for a new start! Mavis has been vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered and tested negative for FELV which is all included in the adoption fee.  This cat is FIV positive which means that their immune system could become a little weaker than a non FIV cat. FIV cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs and is only transmitted to other cats through mating and deep puncture wounds. It is not spread via grooming or sharing food bowls or litter boxes. So as long as they like other cats they can be adopted to a home with them whether the existing cats are FIV or not. FIV+ cats live long happy lives and usually live just as long as non FIV cats. If you would like to adopt this cat, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays) All cats must leave the shelter in a carrier. If you do not bring one with you, one must be purchased at the shelter if available for $6.
