Story
Abner has discovered the shower! He will go into the shower and take a nap or just walk around in it listening to the drops of water. He was born sometime in June and is a very energetic, playful kitten, If there is trouble around, he will find it. He is shy at first but warms up fairly fast. If you are petting another kitten he will get in your face so that you pay attention to him. Abner has twice the energy and curiosity than his quiet brother, Avalanche and will keep you amused with his crazy antics. Our kitten adoption fee is $85 fully vetted....but we are offering a very special deal to our kitten lovers. You can double the fun by adopting TWO of our fully vetted kittens for an adoption fee of only $125! Kittens always do better in pairs so have some fun and share the love with 2 kitties for one low adoption fee! Save Ohio Strays does not have a shelter. Our pets are integrated into their foster homes who can tell you all about them to make the transition into your home informative and supportive. Our first step to adopt is always our online application at saveohiostrays.org. Save Ohio Strays does NOT claim or guarantee any breeds given in this description. These are best guess descriptions for breed. SOS NEVER ships pets and will not adopt out to a driving radius greater than 3 hours from Medina, Ohio.

Story
Avalanche has come a long way in the few week I have had him. He came to me not knowing how to play and was afraid of everything (including people). With a little bribery of canned food and treats, he now rubs against my legs and will jump in my lap to be petted. If he rubs against your leg, beware that he will lay down next to your feet and try to trip you. He doesn't like to be held but you can pick him up and put him on your lap and he'll stay there. His favorite thing to play with are wands & strings..maybe because he likes that you're playing with him. He'll keep himself busy with toys when he thinks you aren't looking. but will also play with his brother or foster sister. He lives happily with a dog, sometimes settling right down next to him. He was born in June and has a longer white coat with a solid black tail that will probably need to be brushed regularly. Our kitten adoption fee is $85 fully vetted....but we are offering a very special deal to our kitten lovers. You can double the fun by adopting TWO of our fully vetted kittens for an adoption fee of only $125! Story
Meet Peanut — The Little Lovebug With a Whole Lot of Personality! Peanut (affectionately known as our “psycho girl” in the funniest, most loving way) is a petite sweetheart who absolutely adores people. This girl is all about her humans — she loves to be held, melts into pets, and will chat your ear off with her adorable, expressive meows. If you’re looking for a cat who will bond deeply and show you endless affection, Peanut is your girl. Peanut is incredibly loving, but she also knows exactly what she wants — and what she wants is to be your one and only. She absolutely HATES other cats, so she must be the only feline in the home. Trust us, she will fill your whole house with enough personality and affection for multiple cats! She’s also got a couple of funny little quirks that only make her more charming: • She’s a “love biter,” but her little nibbles are gentle and never hurt. • Sometimes, when you stop petting her and start to walk away, she’ll do a playful “swat at your feet” for the first few steps. It’s not aggression — more like her quirky way of saying, “Hey! I wasn’t done getting attention!” Whether it’s big boots that make her nervous or just her spicy little personality, it’s always soft and harmless. Right now, Peanut is living in a very unsafe situation. The place she has been calling “home” is being torn down due to construction, and she simply can’t stay there. She deserves so much more than a life outdoors — especially in an area that is no longer safe for her. Peanut has a huge heart, a big voice, and a love for humans that shines through everything she does. She just needs someone who will appreciate her personality, give her a safe indoor home, and allow her to be the adored only pet she longs to be. If you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly, endlessly entertaining companion, Peanut is ready to fill your life with love (and a few adorable antics). Could you be the safe, loving home she’s been waiting for? Peanut is ready to meet you. ❤️🐾

Story
Meet: Uncle Jim Biscuit; a roughly 2 year old domestic medium-haired cat that would thrive with an experienced cat owner in a hybrid indoor/outdoor environment. He found his way to us late October 2025 and over the following weeks got a full tune up- vet exam with Leukemia/FIV testing (negative/negative) and core vaccinations, fecal sample, de-wormed, flea & tick removal, neutered, and chipped. A regular diet has allowed him to gain 2-3 lbs since transitioning indoor. Uncle Jim is EXTREMELY affectionate. He loves snuggling up with you and will cuddle for hours! Move cautiously and he will also allow you to pick him up. He loves to play and always has an appetite for treats. He will sing to you as you prepare his dinner. He is not the best climber/jumper - much more of a “ground cat” versus “tree cat”. Quite clunky. But so cute. We’ve had zero issues with him scratching our furniture. PLEASE NOTE: While he’s adjusted to our first cat very well and plays often with him, we believe uncle Jim may thrive more in a single cat home. Being an outdoor cat for however long he was, he has a strong habit of marking. This improved immensely when he was neutered but unfortunately he is still marking around our home. While it’s significantly reduced over time and the spots are small, despite our best efforts it is not something we have been successful at correcting and feel he’s missing his outside world. We also have not been successful at trimming his nails. He’s gotten better at letting us manipulate his paws but it’s a very long, slow road ahead. The vet noted he had a slight heart murmur and rated it a “2/6”. ***UNCLE JIM BISCUIT IS WITH HIS FINDERS IN WILLOWICK,OHIO. His potential adopters will be screened by someone from the rescue, after the approval process you will be put in touch with his finders to schedule a meet and greet in order to adopt. While this is a courtesy posting for the finders, any adopter will always be able to reach back out to the finders or rescue member they speak with for any help- including the return of Uncle Jim Biscuit (if unfortunately necessary). His adoption fee is $75. LINK TO ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://form.jotform.com/242326102430137

Story
Please contact Jamie (jamie@pawsandprayers.org) for more information about this pet.  Meet Bellatrix! This beautiful 7-year-old gray-and-white domestic medium hair kitty is as sweet as she is striking with her stunning green eyes. Bellatrix is a loving and affectionate companion, especially with her humans, though she prefers to be the only cat in the household. While Bellatrix is FIV-positive, it is not contagious to humans or other animals. It is safe for her to live with other kitties who are not FIV+. She takes Lysine daily to help support her immune system, and this medication will need to continue in her new home. Bellatrix is ready to shower you with love and would thrive in a peaceful environment where she can be your one and only feline friend. Her adoption fee is $135. Give this sweet girl the home she deserves! Many FIV-infected cats can live happily with the virus for a long time, and in some cats, the virus may never cause illness. Whether disease develops depends on several factors including the strain of FIV a cat is infected with, the cat’s immune response, and the presence or absence of other infections.&#226&#128&#175  The main aims of managing an FIV infection are to prevent further spread of infection to other cats and to maintain a good quality of life for the infected cat. General and supportive treatment includes:  Neutering all FIV-infected cats to reduce the risk of fighting and the spread of infection  Keeping FIV-positive cats indoors and keeping them away from non-infected cats. This helps prevent the spread of infection to other cats and reduces exposure of the FIV-infected cat to other infections. In stable homes where cats don’t fight, the risk of spread of infection is low Feeding good quality, commercial cat food and avoiding raw meat, eggs and unpasteurised dairy products  Maintaining routine preventive healthcare (regular flea and worm control, routine vaccinations etc.)  Veterinary health checks twice yearly. Your vet may recommend certain blood tests periodically to monitor your cat’s health  Prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment of any secondary or concurrent diseases  Paws and Prayers Cats are spay/neuter, fully vaccinated, FIV/FeLV tested (positive for FIV), dewormed, current on flea/tick prevention, and microchipped at the time of adoption. They are litterbox trained unless otherwise noted. Please be aware we do not walk around standing & holding our shelter cats - this is unnatural to them and we like to keep them as comfortable as possible.  Please read the entire bio before emailing the foster with questions.  Meet and greets are not arranged unless an adoption application is filled out and approved and are by appointment only.  This pet qualifies for the Pets for Patriots program  https://www.petsforpatriots.org/veterans/ October 10, 2025, 7:34 am
