Their actions literally saved this little girl. Since being at Stone County SPCA she has been putting on weight and has grasped the art of a litter box. As a black cat, she is deemed to be an underdog "less adoptable" - {read about black dog - cat syndrome in shelters.} We know she has beaten the odds once, with your help she will continue winning at life, finding her fur-ever home. Soot will be available as soon as she hits her weight goal for surgery.

Thankfully, a kind person found them and brought them to a loving foster mom. Now Arwen is ready to find her furever home! Arwen is a spunky and feisty little girl with a big personality. She loves to play and often entertains herself, darting off to explore and discovering the craziest hiding and napping spots. She enjoys head scritches and will come to you for attention when she’s in the mood, but she’s an independent spirit who prefers playtime over cuddles. Being picked up isn’t her favorite thing. She’ll squirm until she’s back on solid ground, but her foster mom says her fluffy cuteness makes her impossible to resist. Arwen knows she’s adorable, and she’s not afraid to use her charm! When I first arrived, I was a little shy and unsure of everything around me. But with time, patience, and lots of kindness, I’ve been making amazing progress and learning how to relax and enjoy being a cat. These days, I’m starting to show my sweet side more and more. I love coming over to my people for attention and gentle pets. I really enjoy the affection! I’m still building my confidence, but every day I get a little braver. One thing that really helps me feel safe is my sibling, Panda. We’re very close and have formed a strong bond, so we’re looking for a forever home where we can stay together. They didn't have the best start in life, being born outside and struggling to survive with poor immune systems. Her left eye remains ulcerated from the herpes virus. She's an independent girl who tends to shy away from people during approach. But if you get down to her level, she both accepts and solicits love and petting. We continue to work on getting her more comfortable with people (who are tall and tower over her naturally). She plays well independently and with other kitties. Esmeralda should be adopted with a younger kitty friend, under 2. Preferably with one of her brothers Enzo or Eli. Does fine with dogs, Kids probably 8+. Loves the wand toy and churus- both great ways to build the bond between her and her human. She also enjoys the ball track, using horizontal scratchers as beds, and snuggling up in the hammocks on the cat tree. Initially, she'll make you earn her love but once you do, she's such a doll. She's black with a small white patch on her chest. She is litterbox trained. Esmeralda is spayed , FeLV/FIV and heartworm negative, up to date on Rabies and Distemper vaccines, dewormed, flea/tick treated and Microchipped. Adoption fee is $150.00. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet HarlowHarlow joined our rescue with her sister Hailey in APRIL...Thye are not bonded but would be very happy to spend the rest of their lives together, they are very compatible. Thy are the typical happy-go-lucky kittens. Love all the things. Enjoy snuggling in bed with their foster at night, down by her legs. Not big fans of being held for a long period of time.They do fine with other cats, dogs and kids.If they are not adopted together, they will need another kitty friend near their age/size and energy level (under 3 year old kitty friend).THEY LOVE TREATS!They do get the zoomies and rip around several times a day! But they also nap like champs!Hailey and Harlow are curious about everything and would love to share their humans food (but do not get human food, haha!)These girls have long eyebrows and whiskers.
