Hello! My name is Akela!  My estimated birthday is 3/25/2023.   I am a long- term resident of the rescue. I was born outside a in a large cat colony. I was just a baby, so I was brought in with two of my brothers, Mowgli and Baloo who are also still available for adoption. I am more on the shy side. It takes me a long time to warm up, so I've been overlooked. I adore other cats. I am more likely to be your cats best friend then yours. I will allow you to pet me but they do make me nervous. If I don't want to be bothered, I will run away. I have never shown any type of aggression. I am foster with: Medium sized dog Multiple Cats Harlow's Haven Cat Rescue is a non-profit organization the focus on saving the lives of at risk and homeless cats in our community. We provide them with a safe environment in foster homes where they can live cage free and thrive until adoption day. Story
Mystic and her sister Panda came to us when their owner was evicted and could no longer care for them. We could not fit all of the cats that were in their original home, but the others were taken in by a larger rescue. We were happy to help these lovely girls, and pledged to keep them together as they are very fond of one another. Mystic is as sweet as she is lovely, and is happy to meet new people and new cats. We also suspect she'd do fine with friendly dogs, and her sister has already proven herself to be very curious about canine friends. Mystic came to us suffering from ear infections- she does not enjoy her ear meds but she is not aggressive in the slightest and is doing well with treatment. She and Panda are otherwise healthy and are now fully vetted and ready for adoption!October 28, 2024, 10:44 am

Story
Nira is a lovely cat, we found her while we were out walking about a year ago, pregnant, skinny and abandoned at the PA State Game lands. We decided to bring her home and allow her to go the rest of her pregnancy being safe, loved and fed. She gave birth to 5 lovely kittens. We found them all homes at 12 weeks old. But no one seems to want her. We wanted to keep her, but she does not get along with our dog or our other cats. Once her kittens were weaned, she didn't even want them around her. She is just the sweetest thing to humans, but other animals are an absolute no no. We got her spayed after the kittens left so she wouldn't have to worry about getting pregnant again. we have tried for about a year to get her used to our animals, but she isn't having it. She is defiantly a loner animal, and she is very well content with that.

Quiet and calm, this sweet boy absolutely loves to be pet. Once you get started, his purr motor revs up, and he does not want you to stop, even if he might cover your hand in some drool. He will roll around, reach for your hands, and give headbuts--anything to act cute and keep the pets going (He does still sometimes hiss when reached towards - he doesn't mean it! He is just still learning how to communicate with his voice.) He enjoys finding a cozy spot to snooze, and you will often find him paws in the air and uniquely contorted in a sleepy bliss. He's excellent at batting around springs, hunting down rattle toy mice, and loves getting treats. This sweet girl is still shy and is working on getting used to being approached. She never hisses or swats, just is very timid. She doesn't mind being picked up or pet (and is sooo soft), and really enjoys treats. She loves to play with all the toys, and especially loves to go after wand toys. She will always find a nice cozy spot to take a nap (and usually sleeps on her back, paws in the air), sometimes she has found such a nice spot foster mom can't find her!
