You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Prince Philip: Playful + Affectionate + Gentle'Prince Philip' and his siblings 'Flora,' 'Fauna,' 'Merryweather,' & 'Sweet-tart' were 6-weeks old when they were rescued from an empty property that was in probate. Considering this rough start, they are understandably still a bit shy.  'Prince Philip' is the only boy of his group and has the sweetness to show for it. His foster family says he is super affectionate & loving with them, and he loves playing with wand toys and the laser pointer. He also loves the other cats in his foster home and is food motivated with treats and his canned food. He is still shy in new situations so a patient home is needed. If you'd like to meet 'Prince Philip' or any of our adoptable kittens, please submit an application today! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.'Hueneme Beach,' fondly called 'Mia' by her foster family, is a young,  brown tabby cat found on the Port Hueneme promenade with her two 12-week-old kittens. 'Mia' loves to play, especially with her toy mice, or by exploring her surroundings. At first 'Mia' preferred to find a quiet hiding place to take her cat naps, probably the result of her abandonment, but as she has grown familiar with her foster home she can be found stretched out along the back of a comfy chair where she is never too far from a loving pat from her human friends. 'Mia' is very affectionate with humans and likes to be carried around, and she makes the most adorable chirping sounds instead of normal meows most of the time. She is harness trained and likes to go out in the garden with her foster mom, under very close supervision of course, for her own safety! If you would like to meet Mia or any of our adoptable kitties, submit an adoption application today! Considering this rough start, they are understandably still a bit shy.  'Sweet-tart' is named a little different from her siblings, because no other name was quite so purrfect for this feisty little one. Indeed, she was the protector of her siblings and as such came across a bit more sassy than them at first, but as she has gotten used to her foster home her sweetness has definitely started taking over. Her foster mom even reports that she will start to purr just when spoken to! She likes to play and have her chin rubbed, and adores the big kitties in her foster home. Hello there! I`m Sunshine, the queen of this cozy domain. My fur is a masterpiece of gray, brown, and white, a canvas of beauty that catches the eye of all who behold me. Ah, the sunbeams streaming through the window, my beloved companions in this feline paradise! They warm my fur and fill my heart with joy.Meeting new cats? Oh, that requires finesse, my dear. I am selective, you see. Bottom line is, I would prefer to be your one and only.Ah, the pleasures of being adored and pampered! Nothing quite compares to the gentle caress of a loving hand or the tantalizing taste of my favorite treats. I accept it all, as long as it`s on my terms, and I will let you know with a swat when I am done receiving affection. Give me a mousy to play with, or a feather toy to tantalize me, and I`ll show you the true art of feline entertainment! In search of my forever home, a kingdom worthy of my regal presence. Will you be the lucky one to welcome me into your heart and home? Come, meet me, and let us bask in the warmth of companionship together.

Story
Nuggy is a tender-hearted little cat with the softest spirit and the biggest heart—even if his eyes are a bit on the tiny side. Born with limited vision, Nuggy sees the world in gentle shadows, but that doesn`t stop him from seeking out love and comfort wherever he can find it.He may take a little longer to get his bearings, but with patience and a loving guide, Nuggy adapts beautifully. What he lacks in sight, he makes up for tenfold in affection. Nuggy is a certified love bug—cuddly, calm, and endlessly sweet. His favorite activities include cozying up for naps, nuzzling into a warm lap, and gently following the sounds of a familiar voice or a soft toy.Ideally, Nuggy’s forever home would be with someone who’s around often—a kind soul who can help him navigate the world with reassurance and consistency. He thrives with routine, gentle guidance, and lots of companionship.Despite his differences, Nuggy is pure love wrapped in fur. He’s not just a special-needs kitty—he’s a special-hearted one, and anyone lucky enough to bring him home will quickly realize just how deeply he gives his love

Story
This is Olive and our family is incredibly sad to have to rehome her due to skin issues/allergies that some are having. Shes a very easy going simple cat. Loves the kids and enjoys some outside time. Not picky with food or litter. Can be a little shy at first but warms up easily. She enjoys watching the birds outside and loves to play at night and mostly enjoys sleeping all day. She is 8 months old and her birthday is July 12. We happened to get her randomly from a friends family member who’s cat had an oops litter.

Meet Hulk – A Gentle Soul Ready for a New ChapterHulk is a big, gray sweetheart with an even bigger story. Life hasn’t been easy for him—he came to us withdrawn and unsure of the world. It was clear he had been through more than his share of hardship, and all he really needed was time, patience, and love.Since arriving, Hulk has slowly started to come out of his shell. He now enjoys gentle pets and is beginning to trust the people around him. Every little milestone—every soft purr and every moment of eye contact—is a small victory, and we’re so proud of how far he’s come.Hulk is quite overweight, which only adds to his charm. He waddles instead of walks, and while he may not be the most agile cat, he’s full of quiet potential. He needs a special person who will help him on his journey toward a healthier, happier life—not just physically, but emotionally too.If you’re someone with a kind heart and a gentle touch, someone who understands that healing takes time, Hulk could be the companion you`ve been waiting for. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for someone to believe in him.Come meet Hulk. His journey is just beginning, and you might be the one to help him write the next chapter.

Give our cats & kittens a loving, forever home, and let them put a smile on your face!     (Courtesy posting: email socalpetrescue1@gmail.com or fill out application at socalpetrescue.com) Abby (born July 2024) is an intelligent beauty who thoughtfully reads the room before jumping into play. She loves vertical space, and cat trees or wall mounts are recommended for her climbing nature. She is a soccer star and dribbles and chases ping pong balls with style. Abby (rescued along with her brother Benji) is a shy foster and an independent soul. She is always near but doesn't like over-handling. The way to her heart is with play. She will run to partake, but not if other kitties are too rough. She could do well as a solo kitty. She particularly loves bedtime to socialize – jumping up on your bed to purr, head butt and cuddle – happily settling nearby to snooze alongside you. Abby has a soft ticked tabby coat and big, beautiful gold green eyes. (maybe Abyssinian mix?) At mealtime, Abby is not shy and chirps or squeals for attention. In a loving, peaceful home, her confidence will shine with time, and she will delight with her energy and sweet presence.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 28, 2025, 6:51 pm

This little gal is still shy but is coming out of her shell and would love to rule the roost. She has beautiful butterscotch and black markings and mews so sweetly. He loves kitty scratching posts, chasing kitty balls and rattle mice, and playing interactively with wand toys. When it is time to slow down, he is a purring machine – so gentle and sweet as he comes in for cuddles. Benji will purr upon touch, and he loves to be propped over your shoulder and give chin and cheek nuzzles. Benji loves other kittens and cats, giving friendly head butts and is never threatening.
