Smokey came to HSDC with her kittens in tow about to pop. She was a wonderful Mama cat and raised all her kittens like a pro. She is now a retired mom looking for the relaxing life. She is shy but very loving. Smokey doesn't really like to be picked up but loves belly rubs. She does like to find a quiet dark place to nap during the day. Smokey has a sponsored adoption fee. Story
Pearl and Dolly's story is a touching reminder of the deep bonds that can form between pets and their families, and the heartache that can come when those bonds must be broken due to unforeseen circumstances. They were adopted from HSDC as kittens a few months ago but unfortunately a family member is now allergic. Even though their family has tried to make it work, they are getting worse. They are truly heartbroken and devastated to have to rehome them. Their adopter said, "I grew up having cats all my life and never had two cats as good as Pearl and Dolly. It saddens us to have families really try and make it work, love our animals and it breaks our heart for them when it doesn't work out so we are going to do what we can do...help to find them a new family. These two feline sisters have shared a journey from being adopted together as kittens, growing close in a loving home, and now, seeking a new family to offer them the same affection and care. Their playful spirits and unique personalities - with Pearl's leadership and Dolly's adventurous nature - make them a delightful pair for any cat lover. The fact that they are also accustomed to living harmoniously with a dog adds to their charm and adaptability. Pearl is the beautiful gray cat with the cutest pointy ears and Dolly is the gorgeous calico cat with the most adorable little face. For those considering opening their hearts and homes to these lovely cats, it's an opportunity to continue the story of Pearl and Dolly, ensuring it's filled with the same love and happiness they've always known. The commitment to adopt bonded pets is a noble one, promising double the joy and companionship. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Beautiful Lena (F) and Spencer (M) are best friends who love to cuddle the day away when they aren't at their window perch watching the squirrels and birds outside. They are a special pair looking for a calm and quiet household with loving and very patient people who can continue to nurture them and help them feel less shy around people. Lena has gorgeous copper coloring and big golden eyes. She enjoys playing with new kitty friends at her foster's house and especially enjoys leaping after the feathers on her stick toy. Her favorite place to be is cuddled up with her soulmate Spencer. Lena is a true cat's cat. Sadly, she suffered some type of trauma when she was a young kitten and is now nervous around most people. She is making progress and when she's relaxed, she will allow her person to pet her and offers a sweet purr in return. She has chosen our 15 year old to be her best person and follows him around "talking to him when he's home. She loves meal time and is the first to the bowl; if she is kept waiting, she is very vocal in her reminders! She loves playing with her stuffed mice toys and lounging on the window seat. She is about a two and a half, is spayed, and up to date on all vaccines. Lena experienced a short seizure in March 2022 for which the vet could not determine a specific cause but has been healthy since and went through her spay surgery with no issues. Spencer is a stunning silver/gray long hair boy with huge blue eyes. He enjoys lounging in the sun and loves being brushed. If approached quietly by his trusted person, he allows pets and will sometimes climb on a lap if his person is on the floor beckoning to him. He is shy around the other foster kittens initially but generally warms up after a few weeks. He LOVES to eat and has recently been put on a lower calorie diet to help him slim down. His favorite thing is to be wherever Lena is. Spencer is approximately 3 years old, neutered and is up to date on all his shots. He was initially found outside and likely experienced some type of cruelty which would explain his jumpiness and shyness around new people. These gorgeous kitties will bring the right family so much joy with their sweetness and playful antics. They may not ever become lap-cats, but in a stable home with lots of loving attention, they both will be wonderful companions. Homes with dogs or children under 12 would not be a good fit for this sweet duo. Please text their foster mom Dana for more information about this special pair at (336) 775-7730. Please contact AARF at www.aarfws.org for questions surrounding the adoption process, fees, etc. Thank you!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This girl needs a very special home. She is FELV and FIV positive. She was on her own, her entire life, but had a caretaker who fed her. When the caretaker had to move, there was no one left to take care of her and her Aarf foster mom stepped in and brought her inside. She is very shy at first, but once she gets to know you she is very sweet and loving. She has a precious little squeaky purr. Thus far she has been very healthy and shows no signs of any sickness. She needs a place where she will be taken care of, and loved to live her life.
