Story
Sprout and Adzuki are a brother/sister duo who are about as alike as chalk and cheese in temperament. Sprout (the grey tabby) is fearless and outgoing and purrs like a teakettle when he is snuggled or stroked. Adzuki (the beautiful Tortie) is wary and shy. She absolutely loves to play with her brother and the foster family cats, thundering about the house playing chase. She will play all day with her foster mom with a dangle toy or a tossed crinkle mouse, but she is not a fan up being picked up and will dart away. Adzuki is going to need a forever family that understands her wariness and is willing to wait for her love. Adzuki wants to be petted and stroked and brushed like her brother and foster siblings. She watches it happen with her gorgeous golden eyes, her gaze is intent and longing, but she doesn’t approach on her own. What she will do is sidle in as close as possible to Foster Mom, a little closer each day, and enjoy human companionship from just those few safe inches away. Sprout is aware of Adzuki’s shyness and he is absolutely the best big brother ever. As soon as her senses that she is worried about something he runs to her and squeezes against her side to say “You’re fine, it’s okay, I’m here”. They clearly love each other very much and really should be adopted together. Adzuki watches her brother and learns. She will turn a corner and stop being wary of humans, and when that day comes, whether it is soon or a little later, it will be so worth the wait. If you would like to meet this dynamic duo in their Stratford foster home please fill out the short inquiry form and a volunteer will be in touch. https://www.felinefriends.ca/foster-and-adoption

Story
Oh MY! What a handsome boy. BlackJack is so ready to find his forever home. He may not be a tiny kitten but he is a kitten at heart and under 1 years old. Him and his family were trapped when he was about 10 weeks old and he has been with us ever since. He may be a bit timid at first but once he settles into his forever home he will be a brave boy. Entertaining you with his cute kitten like antics when playing. He likes to be petted and we think will become your best friend in no time. Please share this post or if you would like to meet this guy in his foster home in Stratford please fill out the short inquiry form and a volunteer will be in touch. Wouldn't it be nice if he found a home for Christmas. https://www.felinefriends.ca/foster-and-adoption

Story
Hi, my name is Lily. I'm a pretty shy girl and spend most of my time in my covered cat bed, but I really want to make friends. I love to be petted, especially deep ear rubs and down my back so I can do elevator butt! If you're patient and quiet, I will come out to visit you, roll beside your lap and knead and purr for you (I'm quite the biscuit maker).Food is another way to my heart. I eat wet food or soaked kibble because I had to have all my teeth removed, but that doesn't stop me from being a healthy eater, and I often have my tongue poking out in a cute "blep"! I love tube treats like Churu. I haven't shown many playful behaviours yet, but once I settle into my new home and get more comfortable I will likely want to play just like any cat.If you have a calm, quiet home for me and want lots of kitty affection, please book an adoption appointment today!***NOTE*** Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets. Story
We've got some sad news but are still hoping for a happy ending! Keiko, a pretty stray boy who has been in our care since Oct 2023 has been diagnosed with Feline Leukemia. He is not showing any symptoms of the illness (other than a runny eye that we've tried numerous different drops on to try and sort out with no luck). There is so little known about Feline Leukemia! Some cats are exposed to it and never get the illness, others, it shows up in their systems, they never get sick (and have then been known to clear it on their own). Yet many will eventually become ill and there is no coming back once they are showing signs of not feeling well. We have no idea of knowing which it will be for sweet Keiko. We are therefore looking for a home for him with another FeLeuk positive kitty (ideally), as he loves other cats OR a home with no other cats. Keiko's eye looks worse some days than others. He is actually getting better at cleaning it himself. We found that by continually wiping it, it was making his skin sore but an occasional warm compress would probably be nice once he is familiar with you. He is such a pretty boy and is very cuddly too once he is comfortable with you - we have a few nice videos as proof, but have not been able to figure out how to share them yet! He will take some time to warm up to new people but with some time and patience will become a great companion. If you think you could give this boy a home or know of someone who can, please share our post.
