Story
By appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, adopt-a-pet, rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org. Please answer the questions below in your response. Meet Mickie, he is 11wks old, neutered male. Mickie was saved from a busy road by a Good Samaritan, they realized instantly something was wrong as it appeared he was having tremors. It was late in the day and they rushed him to our shelter, we are no longer taking kittens but we couldn't say no to this little guy. Mickie went home with our shelter manager for 24/7 care, when he 1st arrived he was blind and his head tremor was easily seen. He was started on medications and within a few days, his vision was back and the head tremor was less noticeable. Mickie may have the head tremor for the rest of his life, but it doesn't stop him, he plays, purr's and eats like a regular kitten. He is a goofy, feisty, loving little kitten, who is best friends with a Chihuahua and a large dog. He loves to play, so an active home is a must for him. Adoption fee is $150, this includes neuter, microchip, age appropriate vaccines, felv/fiv testing, dewormer, flea medication and a 1lb bag of kitten food. A few questions: 1. Are you ready for an active kitten? 2. How many animals and types do you have? 3. How many humans and ages live in your home? 4. Have you had a special needs animal before, if so please tell us about them.

Story
Soup is a very people friendly and social cat. He is good with dogs as well but does not like other cats. This is the reason for rehoming, we have tried a lot to help him through this issue but Soup is showing increasing aggressive and stressed behaviors towards house mates so we are needing to rehome.

Story
I am a special girl with funny view on the world. My eyes don't work the best but I can still see enough to be a goof ball and a lover. I love to talk, whether its meowing for attention or trilling while looking out the window and running around with other cats. I take a while to get used to new cats but once I get used to them we become best friends. I love to wrestle with and then clean my friends. My best friend is Nikki. I was hand raised since I was about 10 days old so I am great at being handled, as long as you aren't playing with my eyes. I will sometimes flinch when you first touch me if I don't realize you were approaching or I don't recognize your scent. My biggest down fall is I occasionally pee in the wrong spot, I don't know why but the humans seem to think my anxiety is the main cause. When I was younger I went through an period where I couldn't walk very well. The humans found I had Luxating patellas but that was not the overall cause. After many vet visits and tests they figured out I had an infection that was effecting my muscles. They put me on this gross meds and after a few days I had no more pain. I now continue to be a playful girl that just wants to be with people. I love wrestling and grooming other cats as well as playing with kicker toys or stuffed toys. I have been through a lot in my life but I am ready to find a place of my own that will love me the way I am. Kids: Older or adult onlyCats: Friendly and playful yes, slow introduction. I think Nikki would not like being without me so can you please adopt her too.Dogs: They don't seem to bother meSpecial/Medical: Visually impaired, Anxiety, Inappropriate urination, Luxating Patellas, bad depth perception

Story
My name is Nikki. I learned how to behave from my feral mom. I am learning to be more comfortable around people but am still hesitant. I would be what would be considered a roommate cat. I am interested in what people are doing but would prefer not being touched. I do love other cats so I would need a cat in my forever home that would allow me to cuddle with them. I have a buddy here at the rescue named Tinsel, we have been together for so long now that I cry when she is out of my sight. But I will also try and bond with any cat that will let me. I am comfortable around people and let than get within an inch of me, but with treats they can sneak in a pet here and there. Kids: NoCats: Yes, the more the merrier in my opinion. I am now bonded with Tinsel.Dogs: OkayEnvironment: Indoor, Indoor/Outdoor, Barn/Shop

Story
Olivia is a very shy girl that may take a little bit of time to open up, but once she does she is a cuddle bug! She enjoys sitting with her people, giving them headbutts and receiving pets. If she isn't getting enough cuddle time she will let you know with the cutest small chirps. A quiet, calm home would be best for her. She has had a few teeth removed and is on a limited food diet. Given her demeanor and the state of her teeth we think she is at least 5 years old if not older. She loves playing with a laser pointer, scratching a scratch pad, and lazing about. She also enjoys getting brushed and playing with little toys she can bat around.
