Story
Hello! My name is Beans! I’m a 1 year old, 12.6 lb, White & Black, Domestic Short, cat at the Ark. My housemate Boots and I were surrendered to find a new home. While we are buddies, we do Not have to remain together. I have an adoption fee of $100 to help cover the costs of comprehensive vetting done by Dr Casey DeCook at Nee Hope Pet Vet. I had previously been neutered. I received a complete Physical and Dental exam with everything being normal. I had a fecal exam and was dewormed. My vaccinations were updated. I’m ready to find my new family! I’m laid back, and while I enjoy some attention, I have my own independent personality and things to do! If you’d like to meet up, give a call to the volunteers and schedule an appointment. If they can’t pick up, leave a message so they can get back to you: 423.472.2744. Hope to meet you soon!

Story
Meet Shelby, a once-beloved feline whose world crumbled when tragedy struck her home. This sweet tabby found herself surrendered to the shelter's care after the passing of her devoted owner, abandoned by the very family she once considered her own. With a heavy heart and eyes clouded with sorrow, Shelby now wanders the confines of her cage, her soft purrs a bittersweet melody in the silence of the shelter.Once the cherished companion of her owner, Shelby now grapples with the crushing weight of loneliness and abandonment. Each passing day brings a new wave of grief as she mourns the loss of the familiar warmth of her owner's lap and the gentle strokes of their hand through her fur. Surrounded by strangers and unfamiliar faces, Shelby longs for the comfort and security of a home she once knew.As potential adopters come and go, Shelby watches with a mixture of hope and despair, her heart aching for someone who will see past her grief-stricken exterior and offer her the love and understanding she so desperately craves. But with each passing day, her hope dims a little more, replaced by a deep-seated fear of being left behind once again.Despite the sadness that weighs heavily upon her, Shelby's resilient spirit still flickers with a glimmer of hope. She dreams of a forever home where she can once again feel the warmth of a loving embrace and the gentle reassurance of a caring touch. She yearns for a family who will cherish her as she deserves, offering her the love and security she so desperately needs. If you have room in your heart for a soul in need of solace, please consider giving Shelby the chance she so desperately deserves. Together, we can help heal her wounded heart and rewrite her story from one of sorrow and abandonment to one of love and belonging. Good with cats: Yes, as always a proper slow introduction will be required as with any other kitties being introduced to a home. Please refer to https://www.jacksongalaxy.com/blog/the-dos-and-donts-of-introducing-cats/ Good with kids: Yes! Litter box trained: Yes! House trained: Yes! Meet Pumpkin & Spice! Pumpkin and Spice are the cutest little girls! They are extremely affectionate and pretty much velcro themselves to you! These two gals were found abandoned in an apartment complex with no food and no water. A good samaritan contacted us to help and of course we couldn't say no to these adorable, lovable girls! Pumpkin & Spice enjoy time with their humans, getting ALL the love you can give them! Spice will let you know if you have a free hand that you should be petting her! We estimate that they are right about 3 months old. If you think you are the right home for them, please apply to adopt them here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScq8ShXPVGLfrGHlIYMk0plgI_PJxOEMdr8QItpQMXYCnluvg/viewform All of our animals are fully vetted before going to their furever homes. They are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, up to date on flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and microchipped! The adoption fee is $550 for the pair! This animal may have other interested adopters in line. Please apply quickly if you are interested. We are very quick to respond and process applications! You will be required to provide 2 non family personal references, a home video tour and a vet reference if you’ve previously had animals. Currently located in: York, ME! Adoptable in: ANYWHERE! (Transport available to most places!) Good with dogs: yes, they are good with curious dogs as long as they do not chase them Good with cats: Yes, as always a proper slow introduction will be required as with any other kitties being introduced to a home. Please refer to https://www.jacksongalaxy.com/blog/the-dos-and-donts-of-introducing-cats/ Good with kids: Yes, we think older kids may be better as these two are very scared and timid! Litter box trained: Yes! House trained: Yes! Meet Willow & Oz! Willow & Oz were found abandoned with their family. There was a mom, 2 neonatal babies, a dad, an uncle and 3 kittens. We believe Willow & Oz are a bonded Father/Daughter duo. They all were just left behind in an apartment after the tenants were evicted. They had no access to food or water, had to live in their own waste and clearly they were abused. Willow & Oz are learning how to trust humans again. They are very timid and afraid, but slowly starting to come around. Willow is a bit more brave than her dad, but not very much! They both very much enjoy temptations treats! This father/daughter duo are often found huddled together for comfort. They really rely on each other and are pretty much glued together always! Willow & Oz are going to need time, patiences and an adoptive family willing to give them the time to trust and love again. We estimate that Willow is about 5 months old and Oz is probably around a year old. They surprisingly are house trained and are completely adorable! You can pet them, but they are not excited about being held just yet. Jonsey & Sassy met in foster care but you'd never know they were not brother and sister from birth! Oh our little sassy girl! She came to us very afraid and didn’t enjoy company or cuddles but now she loves to curl up in a blanket once her belly is full! She plays with her brother (from another litter) and cuddles with other cats! She’s the sweetest little girl! Jonsey had a rough start to life. He was found by good samaritans. He was left on the side of the road and we assume was hit by a car. He needed emergency surgery as he had a huge gash on his face and he ended up losing an eye. Story
Lola showed up at my house about a year ago with kittens and got pregnant again soon after. She didn't have the best time after that. She had low calcium and needed IVs and supplements after they were born. But she handled all the vet visits really well and was the best mother ever. I rehomed her kittens already and got her spayed/got her shots, but rehoming her has been kind of difficult. She spends most of her time outside on my porch now and really wants to be an inside cat but I have cats inside already and too many animals to take care of in general. But she's a really sweet girl. She's been around dogs, cats, and chickens. She does great with everyone so far and she really friendly and playful but I've never had her around kids or any other animals so I'm not sure how she does with them. Also if anyone's willing to take in her best friend that she showed up with, I'm sure that would make her and him both really happy but it's not necessary.

Story
Alfie is a special needs cat who has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH). The cerebellum is responsible for coordination and other things. CH can be mild to severe and he is in the moderate range. He has poor coordination and balance, but can walk. He cannot jump or climb. He uses puppy pads for elimination instead of a litter box and does pretty well with that. He usually only goes potty once a day. He is very sweet and loving. Alfie has had seizures in the past and has medication in case he needs it. He has not had one in quite awhile. Because He cannot jump or climb he is a great candidate for an area that you would not want cats climbing all over. He likes to explore, but should not have the run of the house. He needs to be close to the potty pads if he hasn't pottied already that day. If you are still reading, then maybe you would be interested in learning more about CH kitties. Please do some research online before deciding if he is right for you. He has been in foster care all of his life and deserves a home where he doesn't have to compete for attention. Please email me at scratchcats@gmail.com for any questions.

Story
My name is Cupcake! I’m a 3.5 year old, male,13 pound kitty in search of a new family. My previous human had to move into rehab indefinitely, so my mother Sierra and I boarded the Ark. While we are very affectionate with each other we do not have to be adopted as a pair. I was previously spayed. I’ve been to New Hope Pet Vet where Dr Casey DeCook became my veterinarian. She completed both physical and dental examinations on me. I was deemed healthy My vaccinations were updated. I had a fecal analysis and am currently on flea tick and heart worm medication. I am litter box trained and play well with the other cats. I will be adopted within a two hour drive radius, and be an inside only kitty. Give us a call or email to set up an appointment to meet. 423.472.2744 or ArkofCleveland@aol.com. Hope to meet you soon!

Good with kids, Not good with cats, House-trained,
Story
This sweet guy showed up in the tree by our deck. He was immediately friendly, loving, and charming. It was obvious that he was a house cat (he was terrified of being outside) and has had a lot of attention. He loves to be held like a baby and pulls your face down for kisses. He is very talkative and enjoys carrying on a conversation with anyone who will listen and loves being a lap cat (His preferred place for a nap). He also still plays like a kitten. He enjoys chasing nerf balls, laser pointers, and almost any type of cat toy. He really needs to be an only cat. He is great with our kitten, but fights with our adult girl cats. He would also do well with a family that has older kids who can play with him to help curb his high and fun energy. We have searched and searched for his owners to no avail. We are not sure why, but we think that he was possibly abandoned.
