Story
Currently located in: Traveling North soon! Adoptable in: ANYWHERE! (Transport available to most places!) Good with dogs: Pearl would do better in a home without dogs! Good with cats: Yes, as always a proper slow introduction will be required as with any other kitties being introduced to a home. Please refer to https://www.jacksongalaxy.com/blog/the-dos-and-donts-of-introducing-cats/ Good with kids: Yes! Litter box trained: Yes! House trained: Yes! Meet Pearl & Oyster! Pearl (black and white, short hair, tripod): Pearl safely gave birth to her 6 babies outside in the elements only to get her front leg stuck in a raccoon trap. Even in immense pain, she managed to take care and protect her newborn babies until she was found. Unfortunately the damage done to her leg was extensive and she had to have it amputated. Having 3 legs never once slowed her down, she took care of her 6 babies + adopted an orphan one in foster care. She learned to walk, run, jump, and go up and down the stairs as if she still had all 4 legs. Through everything she’s gone through, she has remained the sweetest kitty who absolutely loves her humans and wants nothing more than to be with them. She gets along great with other cats of all ages but does not do well with dogs and would be best to remain in a cat-only home. Oyster (black fever coat, long hair, male): Oyster is cool as well... a clam (haha) and the most go with the flow kind of guy you could ask for. He’s perfectly content sunbathing, cozying up on the couch for a movie night, or really just whatever his humans are up to, he’s happy to tag along. He also does great with other cats and well mannered dogs. Pearl & Oyster love to snuggle together. They are a super cute mom and son duo that are very lovable! If you think you are the right home for them, please apply to adopt him here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScq8ShXPVGLfrGHlIYMk0plgI_PJxOEMdr8QItpQMXYCnluvg/viewform All of our animals are fully vetted before going to their furever homes. They are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, up to date on flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and microchipped! The adoption fee is $550. We do not accept deposits or the adoption fee until you have your new fur-members. Please Note: All animals are posted until they are officially adopted. This animal may have other interested adopters in line. Please apply quickly if you are interested. We are very quick to respond and process applications! You will be required to provide 2 non family personal references, a home video tour and a vet reference if you’ve previously had animals. Please feel free to send video to our email or facebook upon submitting an application, this lets us know you are serious and ready but also helps us to get you approved quickly. We will text and or call upon receiving your application to schedule a phone interview. You must be an approved adopter in order to go on meet and greets. Story
Currently located in: Standish, ME Adoptable in: ANYWHERE! (Transport available to most places!) Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Yes, as always a proper slow introduction will be required as with any other kitties being introduced to a home. Please refer to https://www.jacksongalaxy.com/blog/the-dos-and-donts-of-introducing-cats/ Good with kids: Yes! Litter box trained: Yes! House trained: Yes! Meet Hiccup & Toothless! Hiccup & Toothless got lucky when they wandered into a good samaritans yard. Their foster mom said they were super friendly but super skinny so they started leaving food out for them. They've had feral cats wander into their yard quite often so this wasn’t new to them, BUT these two seemed used to human interaction and were very trusting so they think they had been house cats that were abandoned when they became an inconvenience to someone sadly. Knowing that they could not keep them, they contacted Whiskers Fund to help find them the purrrrfect home! Hiccup & Toothless foster mom took amazing care of them, and with Whiskers Funds help, made sure they got neutered, vetted and gained some much needed weight! These two are ready to find their happily ever after! Hiccup (the tabby cat) is very friendly and loves attention. He trills rather than meows when he wants attention. Hiccup is very curious about areas that are new to him and likes to explore those areas. Toothless (the black and white cat) is as his name suggests, he’s missing a front top fang. He’s a bit more shy and reserved, but once you gain his trust, he’s content with head pats and the occasional 2 second belly rub. These fantastic boys are ready to find their forever home together! Please refer to https://www.jacksongalaxy.com/blog/the-dos-and-donts-of-introducing-cats/ Good with kids: Yes! Litter box trained: Yes! House trained: Yes! Meet Marge & Homer! Homer was found abandoned and was going to be put to sleep because it was found that he is FIV+. We took him into our rescue because cats that are FIV+ can live long and healthy lives and there is absolutely no reason for them to be put to sleep just for this reason alone. Yes, Homer is FIV+, but he has ZERO health issues. We have included a couple of links about FIV so you can learn more here: https://vbspca.com/what-you-should-know-when-adopting-an-fiv-positive-cat/ https://www.alleycat.org/resources/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv/ Marge, mother to Bart & Lisa who have been adopted, were dumped in rural GA. They were rescued pretty quickly and placed into a foster home right away. Marge is very social and outgoing. She was paired with Homer because he came into rescue really shy and she has helped to bring him out of his shell. They head bump and rub against each other all the time. They both enjoy lounging in the sun, hanging out on cat trees and watching the birds from window perches. Homer is a sweetie pie love bug! You can't go wrong with adopting these two! Please refer to https://www.jacksongalaxy.com/blog/the-dos-and-donts-of-introducing-cats/ Good with kids: Yes! Litter box trained: Yes! House trained: Yes! Meet Tootsie Roll & Toblerone! Toblerone is the brother of another pair here with Whiskers Fund (CJ & BB), who he loves very much, but he met Tootsie Roll in his foster home and has taken him under his wing and they are best buds! Both of these boys were found abandoned, Toblerone is about 10 weeks and Tootsie Roll is about 9 weeks old. Toblerone is the black and white kitty while Tootsie Roll is the tiger striped. When Tootsie Roll first came to us, he had a huge hole in his face and had to have a wolf worm removed. His surgery went very well and he recovered GREAT! Tootsie Roll is super duper snuggly, but is a little shy at first and takes a moment to warm up to you. Toblerone is super outgoing, playful and very loving! These two boys will warm your lap and fill your heart!
