Story
We love our Lucy girl, but we need to send her on to another home. She does not love other cats (we have 2 other cats) and she does not love rambunctious young children (we have a SUPER rambunctious young child). She is a sweetie who will snuggle up on you once she learns to trust you. She's a bit slow to warm up at first. She enjoys playing, but must be coaxed into it. She excels at making kitty biscuits (pawing) on anything soft. She has all her claws, but she only scratches on corrugated cardboard scratchers. Lucy only eats kibble, no treats or wet cat food will do. We also need to rehome her because she's had a some elimination issues. She has always had some territorial litter box habits, but after a mild bladder infection in December 2023 led to some peeing outside the box, she has continued to periodically mark certain spots around our house -- an issue we suspect is heightened by the stress of living with other cats and rambunctious kid.

Story
Lacey came to our shelter through no fault of her own. She was shy and timid at first but Lacey's foster reports that she acts like the queen of the house! She has totally decompressed and is a total lap cat (makes a great body warmer if you let her sleep in the bed with you). She will loudly greet you when you come home (immediately wants to boop heads with you) and has the loudest purr. Lacey can't wait to find a castle of her own and find a soft place to retire! If you are interested please contact us at adoptions@caspca.org or 434-973-5959 and we would love to set up a time to connect you with her foster family.

Story
The keyboard is his favorite place to be, so his foster mom brought him one of his own. 🥰Although on hospice, Jangles is thriving right now. This sweet kitty came to us as a stray in last December not feeling the best. Blood work shows renal compromise, mild hyperthyroidism and possible cancer. Ultrasound shows malformation of kidneys and liver. Indicative of lymphoma. Also, he has a significant heart murmur. His spirits are high, and he is super affectionate. We would love to find him a loving home for whatever remaining days he may have left. He is currently on a renal diet. Must be an indoor only kitty and be given a stress free environment.Note from his foster family Jangle aka Oliver (we're pretty sure he knows this is his name at this point lol)Oliver is a wonderful kitty! If we weren't moving out of the country, we would have adopted him within the first week of fostering him. He loves sleeping on pillows, cardboard scratchers and endless scritches & pets. Although he has some health issues, you wouldn't know it unless you were told. He can almost always be found sleeping on the bed and sometimes assists with work by laying across the keyboard, insisting you give him love. In an effort to help him gain weight, we free feed his dry food and give him wet food twice a day. He goes back and forth every few months between pate & stew. He is okay around dogs who do not chase or stress him out and has met both our cat and another foster cat but needs the standard slow introduction to the kitties. He does have occasional tummy upset and may puke up some food-this is typical. Valentine, along with his siblings Farrar, Morton, Carmichael, Madden, and Levine are the sweetest kittens around! They are outgoiong and friendly and love to play with eachother or their human friends! But please know that we may be working on multiple applications already, and any one of them could be approved at any time. Please READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION and complete an adoption application if you are interested in any of our animals. The application can be found at https://greendogsunleashed.org. If you send an inquiry to ask if the cat is still available, or just tell us you are interested, your inquiry will not be answered. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. Adopters may be required to provide additional boosters and a rabies vaccine. Future annual vaccines, testing, and healthcare are REQUIRED, and will be the financial responsibility of the adopter. Please note you must submit an application, be approved, and submit a refundable hold deposit before a meet and greet will be scheduled. You can fill out an application here: https://greendogsunleashed.org While we do allow out of state adoptions, the adopter must be able to travel to Charlottesville, Virginia and meet in person at an agreed upon time to take their cat home. GDU does ask a minimum adoption donation of $125.00 for cats. This is a minimum donation and does not cover all expenses as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes age appropriate vaccines and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover the actual expenses each animal has while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals. ##2054601##
