Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)       Flynn is an amazing 5 month old brindle mix straight from Arkansas. He is super sweet and very smart. He has quickly picked up using a dog door and is working hard to sit and stay on command. Flynn is almost crate trained  He is being trained not to jump when greeted as we think he will be quite a big boy. He loves to cuddle with all humans including children and is very treat motivated. He is good with other dogs. He has not met any cats yet. Flynn has some energy but in comparison to other puppies he is very content relaxed.      All dogs are located in NY/NJ areaAll our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Story
🐾BRUTUS🖤 Brutus is a 1.5 year old Dutch Shepherd/Lab mix according to his embark testing! He’s a big cuddly goofball and loves to make his humans laugh! 🥰 This lanky boy is very smart and loves to do training/learn new things and keep his brain busy, which makes sense with his awesome breed mix! He’s very affectionate and loves to follow his person around and cuddle. He rides great in the car and is fully crate and housetrained. 💯 Brutus is a great swimmer and loves to play fetch in the water, his foster is currently training him for dock diving! Despite being very active and having lots of energy he has a great off switch, too. He can get excited very easily and has some manners that need work but his foster mama is having so much fun training him & he’s learning quickly. 🐶 If you’re interested in dog sports, Brutus would be a great match for you! Especially if you’re a beginner - he is so eager to learn and please.🥰 For his forever family, Brutus is seeking an active home with someone who is willing to keep up with his training and give him plenty of exercise. He thrives when staying active both physically and mentally. He does great with all sizes of dogs & older kids. He is a very social boy and would do great with some dog friends in his home! 🏡 Does Brutus sound like the adventure buddy you’ve been looking for? 🫶🏼 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Story
Poppy and her siblings were being given away on the side of the road for free. One of our southern rescuers became aware of this situation and immediately rescued them so they would not end up in the wrong hands. We believe her to be Dutch Shepard/Hound mix. She is a typical 6 month old puppy. She has not met a toy(or treat) she doesn't like. She is learning basic commands. She is crate trained and 99% housebroken. She is 40lbs, so we think they she going to be a bigger dog.Poppy is in a New England foster home and doing just great!Poppy is very outgoing and spirited, she would do best with a dog who can match her energetic play style. She has never met a stranger she didn't like. She will bring you her toys and make you play with her. She has absolutely no concept of personal space and wants to be as close to you as possible....but that's ok with us!!!Poppy has also been cat tested and doesn't bother the kitties one bit!Poppy would love a family that is committed to a puppy and looking forward to giving her the training and TLC so she can grow into a truly amazing dog!If you are ready for a great new addition apply today!Name: Poppy PupBreed: Lab Mix/Plott Hound (possibly)Sex: FemaleAge: 6 months Weight: 40pounds Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforcedVaccinations:   Puppy vaccines will be up to date - all vaccinations required after adoption are responsibility of adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained:  Almost thereMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently:  New EnglandPuppy Adoption Fee:  $550.00 (includes spay/neuter surgery rebate of up to $200.00 to be paid to adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England.   We can provide a list of low costs SN clinics to adopters when requested. Adoption fee also includes transport fee.ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You will be required to attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are experienced dog owners and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy so if you experience behavior issues you have a point of contact.  PLEASE - Think long and hard before adopting a puppy - consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with - he cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he's older, puppy proofing your home will be necessary, puppies scratch and nip so if you have small children, can they handle this?? Training will be so important in this puppy's life, do you have the time??Please consider purchasing this book before adopting.  Perfect Puppy in 7 Days - How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, Sophia Yin, DVM - it is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have had amazing feedback on.https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Puppy-Days-Start-Right/dp/0964151871IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. CLASSIC BLACK AND TAN GOOD WITH PEOPLE GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS NEUTERED CHIPPED FULLY VETTED LEASH, HOUSE AND BASIC COMMAND TRAINED Our German shepherd rescue is proud to present for adoption a beautiful, black and tan, male, 18-month-old, German shepherd that goes by the name of Lucah. This wonderful guy came to us, abused, malnourished and isolated, to his credit he gave us a chance and has transitioned to the lovable sweetheart that we know today. Our boy is great with adults, children and other dogs, which is amazing since he was crate locked 24-7 for more than a year. Lucah is now a healthy 75 pound pup with a zest for life and a depth that exceeds his age. This guy is all German shepherd even though he does not have the classic black nose, so he can't be a show dog, it happens. Any shortcomings that Lucah may have he more than compensates for with his uncanny ability to life with ease and confidence. It is obvious that we at our rescue are very impressed with the development of Lucah, we learned more about handling hardships from him than he ever learned from us - "the teacher became the student". Our boy completed all of our socialization and training modules successfully, revealing strong character, social affinity, human drive and training desire. Mr. Lucah will bond strongly and be a great family protector. All anyone will have to do to be successful with this dog is open your heart and let him in.

VITALS AND BIO LEASH, HOUSE AND BASIC COMMAND TRAINED NEUTERED** CHIPPED** FULLY VETTED RED AND BLACK COAT GREAT WITH HUMANS AND OTHER DOGS ADOPTION DATE 01-05-24 Randy's German shepherd rescue is happy to present for adoption one of the most lovable, affectionate and happy German shepherds we have ever graduated! This wonderful soul is named Bonz, is around 30 m0nths old, will eventually weigh about 80-85 pounds, and is red and black in color. Very laid back and an absolute love sponge. Our boy has every right to hate everything human but he has chosen to move past that and be a very young old soul! Bonz has this knack of winning everything and everyone over by just his all-encompassing presence. This guy is the very definition of a shadow dog, wherever you go he goes, all semblance of privacy will no longer exist, ya gotta love it! It obvious that he has completely won over all at the rescue, to the point he has us all at his beckon call. Bonz had no problem whatsoever during our training and socialization programs, reflecting deep maturity, tremendous human drive, great social skills and a strong but in control protective instinct. To say that Bonz is great with people and kids is a large understatement, you may never have to wash your child again! Having this dog as a family member is a no-brainer, he truly does have it all! As Bonz trainer I can tell that this guy has depth that is extremely uncommon, he knows what you are thinking before you do, he knows how you are feeling before you do and he would die for you without hesitation.

VITALS & BIO GREAT WITH OTHER DOGS ****GREAT WITH PEOPLE MEDIUM LONG COAT FULLY VETTED NEUTERED LEASH, HOUSE AND BASIC COMMAND TRAINED CHIPPED Our German shepherd rescue is proud to announce the availability for adoption of a beautiful, 15–18-month-old, male German shepherd that goes by the name of ace. This guy is a classic shepherd pup, intelligent, inquisitive, playful and totally full of himself. Ace has a perfect gait, awesome symmetry and a stunning coat pattern. This boy was rescued from a situation that presented poor care, limited food, isolation and general neglect. To Ace’s credit he settled in with us and has never looked back, evolving into a “happy go lucky “love sponge. Our boy gets along very well with other dogs, adults and children, he just wants to be playful and happy. Ace performed very well in our socialization and training programs revealing a strong desire to train, a very strong human desire and a very high level of canine intelligence. As is with most German shepherds, ace, has a strong but under control protective instinct. This young man plays very well with other dogs but he is just as at home hanging close to his master being petted and loved. Like any young shepherd of potentially 85 pounds, ace, will require exercise, follow up training and a committed and loving owner. The reward will be a very special and dedicated new family member with limitless love!
