Shadow came from an abusive home but she learned to trust again and is ready to show just how lovable she is. She’s good on a leash but sometimes she needs a little encouragement. Murphy is a 6mo male Dutch Shepherd mix who was rescued as a stray in Memphis.  Good with other dogs and living comfortably with another dog in his foster home (see video).  Not yet cat tested. Great with kids and recommended for children 6 years and older just because of his exuberance.  Medium energy level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house.  Crate trained and housebroken. Learning basic commands.  Loves to be with his people.  Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, neutered, weighs about 40 pounds.  Murphy has an occasional limp L rear leg which vet attributes to an old, healed injury but it doesn’t impact his mobility at all. This is an AWESOME young shepherd mix will make a wonderful companion  for an active family who loves the breed. Brynn is a beautiful girl with a beautiful personality. She ended up in rescue after being trapped by animal control. She’d been running loose in a neighborhood for nearly a month, with random people leaving out food. She’s a little shy at first but warms up quickly. She’s sweet, playful and oh so pretty! She’s good with other dogs but needs a home without cats. Brynn has interacted well with kids at previous events, but is not currently being fostered with any. Brynn is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. Brynn is fostered in GA and will be attending our adoption event at the Durham Fairgrounds. Save time, fill out an Application to be preapproved to adopt at our event. Preapproved adopters may schedule appointments to meet dogs on Friday, May 17th. Our pets are in CT, GA and PA foster homes. Dogs in PA may be able to come to CT prior to the event to meet adopters. Drake is a handsome lad all decked out in black which is becoming of him! He is approx 3 years old and loves to run and play with his foster siblings. He will play with his doggie toys all day long and has such a great time. See the video below:) Drake is learning to walk on a leash and is learning his house manners. He is crate-trained and rides well in the car. We are not sure of his breed, but Dutch Sheperd and Australian Kelpie/Cattle Dog seem fitting. He gets along well with other dogs after proper introductions. Go ahead and apply to adopt this sweet boy! He would love to be running/walking/jogging the trails this Spring with his new family or snuggling on the couch would suit him fine. Drake is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negtive for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. 2 yr old Rocky is an intelligent and docile boy. He is a gentle giant. He is a happy-go-lucky boy who learns commands fast. He came from a home with many dogs and has never had any issue with them. In his current home, he has been kept separated from his foster brother who is reactive to other dogs, but he sees them through the gate and never once barks. Rocky is little timid in new situations. He loves car rides. He is excellent with children. He loves for the neighborhood kids to pet him. He is so polite and never jumps on anyone. Rocky is potty-trained and crate trained, although he is rarely crated, since he is very perfect outside a crate. During the freeze, he was patient about going out, and never once demanded to be taken out. He is a really sweet and tolerant pup. Rocky likes to run around in the backyard but once he is inside the house, he loves to lay on his foster parents’ bed or on the couch to feel closed to his humans. His foster dad says that he is the perfect dog. Rocky is 80 lb, neutered, is microchipped and is on heartworm and flea prevention. He can travel to most states and Canada for the right home. A fully fenced yard is mandatory for our dogs. Rocky is a flexible dog and lives to make his human happy. Rescue story: Rocky's owners always used to leave him outside and he would come up to the neighbor's home. Finally they moved and did not take Rocky with them. His neighbor took him in and is fostering him.

Gorgeous girl Greta is a 2 yr old German Shepherd pup who was abandoned by her previous owners in an affluent neighborhood of Houston. Greta is highly intelligent, and extremely loving big baby, who loves to have zoomies, and occasionally bark at people passing by their yard. She is also very obedient, housebroken, and easily trainable. She loves car rides. Greta has been temper tested with dogs and she did wonderful. She has not shown any reactivity to dogs. She has not yet been tested around cats. She loves humans and will snuggle with them at any given chance. However, she does not jump on them, and is very polite when she meets strangers. She often goes out to cafes and restaurants with her foster dad. Greta is 2 yo, currently weighs 67 lbs, fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped. and heartworm negative. She is kept on heartworm and flea preventative. She is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to many states and even Canada. German shepherd experience necessary to adopt our GSD mixes.
