Story
Meet Lemon!Lemon is a 2 year old, Spayed Female, Dutch Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix. This brindle beauty is true to the high drive breeds she's made up of! She is active, highly intelligent, and ready to embark on an adventurous lifestyle. Lemon tends to prefer women over men, so if you are a single woman looking for an ultimate companion she might be a great choice! She can be reactive to new people and situations, but with a confident human by her side, she should adjust perfectly. A home with experience with her breeds would be an ideal situation for this amazing girl.Lemon is great with other dogs and would adore having an active companion to play with everyday. Lemon needs a home without cats. She will likely do ok with respectful children.Visit our website to fill out the adoption application: https://bit.ly/HSofMacombadoptionapplicationIf your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day. We cannot place puppies/dogs on hold to come pick up for another day.All Humane Society of Macomb animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested and microchipped.*Lemon's adoption fee has been waived*Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
Soda came to me about 2 years ago, as her previous owner was unable to continue caring for her. We've had a good time, but she would prefer to be in a home with some space away from other/outside people and dogs. She is fine with other animals that live with her. She does not like unknown dogs, and is briefly agitated when new people arrive, but always warms up very fast. Great with cats, she lived with them her entire life, as far as I understand (she's lived with a dozen different cats over the past two years with me, at least). I'm working on training her in the meantime, but I am not an experienced trainer, and she would be better suited to someone used to 'taming' dogs with a dominant predisposition.I'm only asking for $75 to help recoup costs of some basic training that I already paid for ($145) as well as the $10 listing fee on this site.

Story
Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
Stormy Skye has done a fantastic job of raising her puppies, and now she is looking for a home of her own.  She was THE BEST momma ever  - she kept her puppies safe while she cared for them on the streets of Houston, even during one of the worst cold freezes ever in TX.  And now she needs her own hero. Stormy is loving, good tempered and seems to have been raised by someone who gave her some training.  Very even tempered and affectionate.  And she does have drive.  She was very thin when she came to us in early February, but as she gains weight and energy she is showing more of her personality.  As she gains weight and decompresses, we will learn more about her.  And we already adore her. She is wonderful around older children.  She has not been fully introduced to other dogs as she just finished helping her darling puppies reach 8 weeks.  She needs time to heal  from her experiences as a mom taking care of her puppies on her own.  She is heartworm positive, but this is common in TX and her case is not a heavy infestation.  MAD is paying for her treatment.  As she gains strength, she will be showing more of her drive and playfulness. We already know she is a very loving, affectionate companion.  This girl is special.  Please reach out if you have any questions about her.   ******************************************* All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and six-months subscription.  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. Story
#MADloveNico...you might remember him as Noodles, who came into the shelter with an amputated tail. He clearly had a hard start in life. The shelter staff addressed his tail and MAD was able to pull him from the shelter.  Since coming to MAD, Nico he has been progressing in obedience and impulse control and is showing the kind of drive and intensity you expect to see in serious working prospects. Making solid progress with door manners and thresholds Sleeps through the night — no barking or howling Very people-oriented and affectionate Impulse control is a work in progress. We are focusing heavily on duration, neutrality, and crate manners. He has a good obedience foundation but struggles with stillness — he is a “go, go, go” dog who prefers action over idle time. High prey drive. Absolutely not suitable for homes with cats or small animals. He becomes immediately aroused and highly stimulated, requiring strong handling and structured redirection. Resource guarding present. Has attempted to bite over food or high-value items. No contact has been made. Manageable with experienced handling and clear structure, but must be addressed through proper training protocols. Overall, this is the type of energy and intensity you see in high-caliber working dogs. He possesses significant drive, athleticism, and environmental engagement. He will require an experienced, confident handler capable of providing clear structure, accountability, and an outlet for his working ability. He is not a casual companion home candidate. He would excel in a performance, sport, or working environment where his energy and instincts can be purposefully channeled.   All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and six-months subscription.  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location.
