Story
From Scooby's Foster Angie, this is what you can expect from life with Scooby. "I am a first-time foster and Scooby has been a very good boy! He is staying for a long weekend and we are on day 3 already. First thing that I noticed about Scooby is that he is a sweetheart and so curious about everything. We have been taking two walks a day which seems to keep him satisfied. He is learning new sounds from cars, trucks, and motor bikes in my neighborhood,, so I worked out some tricks to keep him calm when they are close. He wants to say hi to all the dogs, but he is still learning and needs to build his confidence in this area - a very quick learner though! Scooby loves to smell and investigate everything. He also knows to check in with me when he gets excited, which is progress. I work from home, so his first day he chilled with me all day. No whining of any kind. He just wanted the occasional scratch. Bonus: He is crate trained and goes to bed like a prince! I've shared a lot of photos so you can see how sweet of a boy he is. He cuddles, likes play time, and chills on the back patio like a dream."

Story
Leggs is a resilient 32 pound, 8 month old pup working hard to become part of the world around him. While he’s naturally timid because he was feral the first three months of his life, he’s been bravely approaching new challenges and turned into the most amazing dog at home. Leggs is very intelligent and sensitive. He’s a bit cuddler and loves wrapping himself up in a blanket and hunkering down with his soft toys. He’s fantastic on a leash and incredibly gentle with myself, my children, and other dogs (including my super senior). He tries to play with cats, but also respects their space. He is crate trained, goes to the door when he needs to go potty, leash trained, and doing well on basic obedience and threshold training. He’s done well on trips to the park, long-leash walking on nature trails, and trips to pet-friendly stores such as Petco. His perfect home would be one that understands his initial need to decompress. After that, you can expect the most loyal and intuitive companion. Leggs is being fostered in Texas but can be transported out of state. You can apply directly for Leggs by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-835 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. Dante is a brilliant, high-drive, Dutch shepherd mix looking for a loving home with space to run. He is not a couch potato—he is a "play fetch for hours" kind of dog. He is highly intelligent, eager to learn, and currently knows basic commands. Ideal Home: Farm, acreage, or large fenced yard with active owners.Personality: Playful, affectionate, and train-able.Perfect for: Active owners, working dog enthusiasts, or handlers looking for a smart pup to take to training classes. We love Dante deeply, but he needs more physical and mental stimulation than we can provide.

Story
Moet is a 4-year-old Dutch Shepherd mix with a thoughtful, observant nature and a heart that’s still learning to trust the world. At 64 pounds, she does well with other dogs and may feel most comfortable alongside a confident canine companion to help guide her. Moet is still building confidence with leash walking, and it’s unclear whether this is due to shelter stress or limited prior experience. Because of this, she may do best in a calm, quiet home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely decompress and enjoy outdoor time without pressure. With patience, consistency, and a gentle approach, Moet has the potential to blossom into a deeply loyal companion—she just needs a little time to find her footing.

Story
She is a deeply loyal and affectionate dog who forms strong bonds with her family and thrives on their presence and love. While she experiences some separation anxiety (which is easily managed by giving her trazedone) —she simply feels safest when she’s near her people. She has shown some reactivity toward other dogs, so she would do best as the only pet in a home where she can feel secure and undisturbed. Full of energy and enthusiasm, she loves to play and stay active, making her a perfect companion for someone with an active lifestyle or a home with a backyard where she can run, explore, and truly be herself. We had to make this difficult decision due to a recent lifestyle change.

Birdie is a brand-new addition who’s already stealing hearts left and right. She’s the definition of a lover girl—sweet, affectionate, and always ready to shower you with cuddles. Whether she’s being her delightfully silly self or bouncing around in full play mode, Birdie brings a joyful, lighthearted energy wherever she goes. We’re still getting to know her, but one thing is already clear: she has so much love to give and is happiest when she’s close to her people.
