Story
Hershel is a 76 lbs lap dog who loves having something to keep his mind busy! Hershel is a favorite to go out with some of our volunteers to work on his tricks and other training. Hershel knows sit and will come when called - he's eager to keep adding new tricks to his growing repertoire. He enjoys playing tug of war and going on walks, exploring new sights, smells, and sounds. Hershel has been introduced to other dogs at the shelter and seems to lack some understanding of dog body language. He may do well as the only animal in the home while he develops the skills to learn to play with other pups.

Story
My name is Lil Man aka Deuce. Deuce for two since I'm getting a second chance at life after being in the shelter. My foster Dad says I'm living life to the fullest and trying really hard at forgetting my first life. I'm still shy around some people but my foster has been teaching me to be less fearful of strangers. I would love you to help me with slow introductions when I meet new people. People always say how beautiful my brindle coat is. I'm very smart and will sit and speak for my treats, I am learning to play ball and will jump in the air to get it! I'm still working on the bring it back all the time, every time. But I'm working on it! I get along well with other dogs and I'm a great watch dog. I like to make sure my people are safe and taken care of. I love being outside in the sun and playing with my dog foster siblings or other dogs. I love the yard and think being outside is swell. When I come inside I'm a very good boy and don't get on the couch or jump on people. I do like to give little licks and kisses to the people I feel safe with. I have a zest for life and like to go for walks and runs and to play in the river. I'm potty trained and stay out during the day in the sunshine. I always try to ensure the squirrels know I'm the bosss. At night I like to sleep inside with my pals. Whoever adopts me will have to be a little patient and continue working with me on my shyness at times. New things are scary and I need you to show me it's going to be ok. My perfect home would have a nice, fenced yard, and maybe a doggy door so I can go in and out on my own. I'll probably do better with another dog in the household, I really like friends. I would love someone to play fetch with me or take me to the river and swim. I don't mind baths at all either, but I sure don't like cats! I like to keep my food just for me and don't really like to share. I know basic commands and will sit for a treat, or two. I would love to meet you and your resident dog and make some new friends!

Story
Athena was a stray and owners were unable to be contacted. I have been holding on to her but my situation has changed and I no longer have the time to give her what she needs. She is a Dutch Shepherd/German Shepherd, current on all vaccines, and unknown age. She is house broken, walks decent on a leash, and is friendly with my other dogs. She loves to play and exercise, and will do anything for treats.

Story
Howdy there, I`m Deepak! I`m a confident, handsome, and happy-go-lucky pup who is full of life and bound to make you smile! To start off with the basics, I`m highly housetrained - my kennel is often spotless when you come visit. If I`m ever loud in my kennel, it means I REALLY need to pee! I get along with some dogs and have been previously paired with another dog. If you already have a furry friend, let`s do a meet and greet to see how we get on! I have medium energy, so after I have my fun outside, I love to relax and get some attention from my humans. Now onto the fun stuff! I LOVE rolling in the grass (check out my photos and video!). If you ever have the pleasure of taking a walk with me, you`ll see me flopping down on the nice comfy patch of grass and rolling around to my heart`s content! It`s so fun and I look so silly that it`ll make you laugh. I`m back to business afterwards though, and walk very nicely on leash. Whether it`s walks, or a good time in a yard where I can explore and roll around, I`m up for all it!I also happen to know two commands that I`ve perfected - sit and speak! I know them so well that I`ll hop on a bench or picnic table so I can show off my skills! Plus, it lets me get closer to you for the best pets and massages.I can be cuddly once I get to know you - fun fact, I have a vague Texas-shaped spot on my head that you can see when I rest my big ol` head on your lap.Overall, I`m a standout pup who`s looking for a standout human. Come see me at AAC or share my page with someone who is looking for a loving companion!
