Meet Lucy – She Just Needs to Feel SafeLucy is a 5-year-old Yorkie/Terrier/Poodle mix… though you’d never guess it. She actually looks more like a little Feist - petite, adorable, and full of quiet expression.Lucy has had people who loved her. She lived with her human mom until that person could no longer care for her. Then she went to another loving home, and again, through no fault of her own, circumstances changed. Her family was heartbroken to let her go, but they truly believed this was the best decision for her.That kind of change leaves an impression.Lucy is very sweet, but she is frightened of people she doesn’t know. She needs time. She needs patience. She needs someone who understands that trust is earned gently. The beautiful part? Once Lucy decides you are her person, she bonds quickly and completely. She will be your shadow, your quiet companion, your very best friend.She has lived with other dogs and did well with most of them. Lucy will want to meet your four-legged family member before going to her new home, just to be sure they are compatible. In fact, another calm dog in the home may help her feel more secure.Lucy is Lyme positive, and we will send her home with medication to manage that. Most dogs do well, and some never show symptoms. When symptoms do occur, treatment with antibiotics usually leads to a quick recovery. She just needs thoughtful care.Because of her fearfulness, Lucy cannot go to a home with small children. A securely fenced yard would be ideal. When she is frightened, she may run, and fear makes little dogs fast! She will need a family committed to keeping her safe while she learns that she doesn’t have to run.Lucy won’t take long to blossom. She just needs someone willing to wait while she gathers her courage.If you have a quiet home, a gentle heart, and room for a dog who just wants to feel safe again… Lucy is waiting.

Willow-Feist X female puppy, 6-7 mo DOB 8/29/25.(March 2026) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Willow came to Rescue when a kind lady took her in from a bad living situation. She was not being fed enough and forced to stay in a crate all the time. Now happy with a big yard to play in and another dog for a buddy...she's ready for a forever home. She's housetrained, crate trained, good on the leash, knows some obedience and very loving. Willow will enjoy an active livestyle and be a loyal family member. Her adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption.
